Chapter 151 Little Ling's Efforts

Although it wasn't her own daughter, Gu Anran was still somewhat gratified to hear her secretary's praise. She asked her secretary to tell Xiaoling to keep it up and not to slack off, as she had high hopes for her.

"From now on, every time Xiaoling comes to work, you should report her situation to me. Also, if anyone bullies her because they are a senior employee, you don't need to tell me, just fire them. If there are any problems, you should tell me in time."

She was still on the phone when someone suddenly hugged her from behind. Warm breath enveloped her swan-like neck, and she shrank back uncomfortably. Turning her head, she found it was Ye Lichuan.

The secretary was reporting on the company's situation on the other end of the phone, but Ye Lichuan became increasingly restless. He leaned close to her earlobe and gently bit it with his teeth. Gu Anran gasped, pushed his head away, glared at him, and moved to the side.

Seeing this, he stopped making a fuss and sat quietly to the side watching her. Gu Anran looked at him warily, and after confirming that she would not make any other moves, she continued to give instructions to her secretary.

After talking for a while, she felt a little thirsty. She picked up her cup, drank some water, and licked her lips. Her rosy lips made Ye Lichuan's eyes darken even more, while Gu Anran was completely unaware of the wolfish gaze beside her.

"Okay, let's leave it at that."

Gu Anran was about to settle scores with him after hanging up the phone when suddenly someone pounced on her and pressed down on the back of her head. Gu Anran whimpered and tried to push him away, but he forcibly opened her tightly clenched teeth. Unlike his usual gentleness, he domineeringly sucked on her soft tongue.

After a long while, Ye Lichuan finally let go of her. Looking into her watery eyes, he leaned in and bit her lower lip.

Gu Anran covered her lips and glared at him, not understanding what was wrong with him.

He rubbed against her collarbone like a spoiled dog, saying, "You care so much about Xiaoling but not about me."

"Why should I care about you? You're doing just fine." You're getting the benefit but still acting innocent.

Gu Anran frowned and pushed his fluffy head away, but he wouldn't budge. Helpless, she could only let him stick to her.

"Is that why you're so distracted when you watch movies?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Anran coughed twice. She had suddenly remembered this while watching the movie, but he had held her back and wouldn't let her leave, which was why she couldn't concentrate on thinking about it.

Looking at Ye Lichuan's accusing gaze, she belatedly realized that he might be jealous because of this.

After she voiced her doubts, she knew Ye Lichuan was right when he didn't say anything. She felt helpless; what was there to be jealous about? But Ye Lichuan used this as an excuse to lead her to the bedroom.

When she was pinned to the bed, Gu Anran suspected that he was using this as an excuse to cause trouble, but she was powerless to stop him.

"Xiaoling, could you please deliver a document for me?"

Xiaoling, who was reading a book, stood up and walked briskly towards the supervisor's office. After delivering the book, she returned and began to operate the computer according to the instructions in the book. Her family was not well-off, so this was her first time touching a computer. With curiosity and nervousness, she placed her hands on the keyboard.

Practice gradually according to the job titles in the book.

"Go eat first, then come back and practice." The secretary sat down and patted her shoulder.

Xiaoling nodded obediently and followed her to the staff restaurant. The food in YR's staff restaurant was just as good as that in hotels, and there was a wide variety of choices. Along the way, many people greeted them, and the joy on Xiaoling's face proved that she really liked the lively atmosphere.

The secretary finished eating quickly, and Xiaoling also sped up her meal. The secretary sat quietly for a while, then suddenly stood up, leaving Xiaoling looking completely bewildered.

A few minutes later, the secretary brought over a thermal lunchbox and placed it in front of her.

"The company doesn't provide dinner, but I specifically told the cafeteria lady that as long as you come to work, she will make you a separate dinner to take home. You can just heat it up when you get home."

Xiao Ling's eyes reddened as she looked at the lunchbox placed in front of her, and she lowered her head to stuff rice into her mouth.

After lunch, there was still a lunch break. Xiaoling walked to the lounge, sat on the sofa, took out her phone, opened her contacts, and called Gu Xiaotian.

She waited anxiously, hoping the call would go through, as she wanted to share what she had learned and seen with her brother Xiaotian.

The light in his eyes dimmed abruptly when he heard the words "turn off the phone." Did he really not want to talk to her?

After calling her grandmother, she rubbed her phone screen, edited a text message, but hesitated when she pressed send. Her brother Xiaotian didn't want to talk to her anymore. Would calling and texting so frequently make him even more disgusted?

The more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed. She put away her phone, wiped away her tears, and got up to walk towards her desk.

The secretary wasn't too busy in the afternoon, so she started teaching Xiaoling some computer knowledge. After she finished explaining the history of computers, she turned her head and noticed that Xiaoling's eyes were unfocused.

"Xiao Ling?"

"Ah, I'm sorry, I..." Xiaoling was so ashamed that her face turned bright red in an instant after she had been daydreaming.

"If you're tired, take a rest."

The secretary noticed that she had been in a low mood and often spaced out since returning from her lunch break. She was worried but didn't ask too many questions.

Xiaoling walked into the corridor, head bowed, feeling guilty. How could she be distracted when the opportunity to study was so hard-won? What she should do now is to work hard to absorb knowledge. The gap between her and Brother Xiaotian is obvious. If she doesn't work harder, Brother Xiaotian might never talk to her again.

She clenched her fist to cheer herself up, then strode confidently into the house.

Her studies went smoothly afterward, and she no longer lost focus, so her secretary was no longer so worried.

However, when she reported to Gu Anran that evening, she still brought up the matter, saying, "She was in a bad mood after coming back, and I could see that she was disappointed."

After hanging up the phone, Gu Anran pondered for a while and roughly guessed the reason. She turned on Xiaotian's phone and found a text message. She opened it and found that it was a notification of an incoming call.

It was in the afternoon, and it must have been Xiaoling who called. She used Xiaotian's phone to call back, and the call was answered as soon as she dialed.

"Brother Xiaotian!"

"Xiaoling, I'm Aunt Gu."

There was a moment of silence before someone spoke. Gu Anran briefly inquired about her studies and then told her about Xiao Tian's situation, assuring her not to worry. Xiao Tian was undergoing closed training and was not allowed to use electronic devices.

Hearing Xiaoling's joyful voice, she smiled and then hurried off to watch a movie with Ye Lichuan after the call ended.

Xiao Tian was doing his homework at the training base. He finished a test paper in just half an hour. While grading the test paper, the teacher asked Xiao Tian to explain his problem-solving process.

Twenty minutes later, the test papers were graded. Not a single question was wrong. The teacher was very happy to see the test papers full of checkmarks. After these few days of systematic study, Xiaotian had overcome many of his previous difficulties.
