Chapter 162 Morning Sickness

Ye Lichuan thought for a moment, then saw her frowning, as if she was getting irritated. Remembering that he had been keeping a close eye on her these past few days and didn't want her to rebel, he quickly nodded and told her to be careful.

Gu Anran smiled and went downstairs, but as soon as she stepped out the door, the footsteps behind her came again.

She frowned. "Aunt Wu, are you here again to check if there's anything in the yard that needs to be dealt with?"

Aunt Wu stood there, stunned, and gave an awkward smile, unsure how to respond.

Having guessed most of what was going on, she looked at Aunt Wu seriously and said, "Aunt Wu, you don't need to follow me around. I'm not a child anymore, I can take care of myself."

Aunt Wu had no way to express her suffering. If something happened to her, she would be finished. Moreover, she was pregnant and needed someone to help her. Ye Lichuan walked over from behind and waved for her to leave first. Aunt Wu left immediately.

He gently coaxed Gu Anran, thinking to himself that he should probably remind Aunt Wu to keep a proper distance.

Gu Anran's second miscarriage damaged her body, and her third pregnancy was particularly difficult. She suffered from severe morning sickness, vomiting everything she ate and being unable to swallow anything. She was also extremely sleepy.

He looked sickly and listless, and Ye Lichuan could only watch helplessly as he did nothing else.

Gu Anran ate a few bites of lunch and then started vomiting again. She looked completely listless, and Ye Lichuan saw this and felt heartbroken.

He immediately called his family doctor: "Come over now." Without a word, he hung up.

Then he went back and hugged Gu Anran, letting her nestle in his arms, stroking her head, and said, "You've worked so hard. We won't have any more babies after this one."

Gu Anran's stomach was still acidic, and her eyelashes were still wet with tears from her physiological reaction, but hearing his words warmed her heart.

The family doctor arrived shortly after, and Ye Lichuan hurriedly said, "What's wrong with my wife? She's been feeling unwell and can't eat anything."

The family doctor didn't dare to be negligent at all, and quickly stepped forward, took out the instruments to start the examination, and then took Anran's pulse.

Time seemed to stand still.

After a long while, the family doctor slowly spoke: "Mr. Ye, your wife's body is still weak after her second miscarriage. Now that she is pregnant again, it is common for her to have such severe morning sickness. If she adjusts her diet, sleep, and mood, she will get better in a while. I will come to check on your wife regularly, so Mr. Ye doesn't need to worry."

After saying that, he pinched Gu Anran's hand on her thumb to make her feel better.

After the doctor left, Ye Lichuan hugged her tenderly and said, "I'm sorry... I made you suffer..."

Gu Anran touched her belly and shook her head, "I'm carrying our baby here. Just thinking about having him by my side makes all the suffering worthwhile."

The two sat together and talked for a while, then Gu Anran started to feel sleepy again.

Looking at Gu Anran, who was trying to stay awake, Ye Lichuan felt a warmth in his heart and said, "Okay, you go to sleep. I'll wake you up when dinner is ready." Then he covered Anran with the blanket and gently kissed her forehead.

He turned around and went downstairs, sat in the living room, recalled what he had asked the doctor last time, and searched for information online.

As he looked around, he took notes, noting that this could reduce pregnancy symptoms and that could increase nutrition. Ye Lichuan had practically turned himself into a gourmet.

Seeing that it was almost time, I got up and went to the kitchen to cook.

He was so busy that he didn't let Aunt Wu interfere, doing everything himself.

The dishes selected were all Gu Anran's favorites, prepared using the healthiest methods, and then plated to make them look, smell, and taste delicious, whetting the appetite of anyone who saw them.

After finishing these dishes, I also made a nourishing soup for Gu Anran. The soup was light yet delicious. Seeing that it was almost time, I went upstairs and gently woke Anran up: "Baby, get up quickly, it's time to eat."

Gu Anran, half asleep, mumbled, "Mmm, so sleepy, don't want to get up." Her coquettish tone softened Ye Lichuan's heart.

I picked her up from the bed, changed her clothes, and carried her downstairs to the dining table.

Gu Anran lay on the dining table, looking absent-minded, staring blankly at Li Chuan busy pouring soup in the kitchen.

After serving, I brought it out and looked at the person lying motionless on the table. I said, "Eat a little bit, it's good for your health."

Gu Anran pursed her lips and uttered a few words: "Okay, for the baby." After saying that, she picked up the porridge in front of her, but didn't touch it for a long time.

Ye Lichuan smiled, affectionately patted her head, and said, "Open your mouth, I'll feed you."

Gu Anran obediently opened her mouth, but after being fed a few bites, she shook her head and said she didn't want to eat anymore, that she would vomit if she ate any more, and continued to lie limply on the table.

Ye Lichuan felt heartbroken but didn't know what to do. He could only stay with An Ran. However, things at the branch office gradually got busier, and Lichuan couldn't stay at home with An Ran every day.

After a busy period, Jia Yunxin finally had some free time and brought her baby to play. However, she saw that Anran looked sickly and asked what was wrong. Li Chuan said, "Because of the previous incident, she now feels nauseous whenever she smells greasy food, and she throws up everything she eats."

After listening, Jia Yunxin hugged Anran and said, "Anran, thank you for your hard work. I've been quite free these days, so I can come and keep you company often. Look, I even brought the baby with me to keep you company and give you warm love from the baby."

After saying that, she picked up Xiao Mu. Xiao Mu stretched out his arms, wanting her to hold him. When she took Xiao Mu, she smelled a faint milky scent on him, which was very sweet.

Although she wasn't feeling well, she still played with Xiao Mu for a while before handing him over to her mother.

The two women talked together, confided in each other, and chatted about the baby. Their smiles became more frequent.

Seeing the two women chatting happily, Li Chuan felt relieved and quickly went out to make a phone call to his assistant, "How is the company doing? I'm coming over now to gather the senior management for a meeting in half an hour."

Opening a branch office is not easy. He has been busy lately, but he is also uneasy. Now that they are by his side, he can feel more at ease.

Knowing he was busy, Gu Anran always tried to hold back from vomiting while eating. Although she saw him much less often, she knew that he chose to open a branch company for her sake, and she couldn't be unreasonable.

Although he wasn't always around, he had hired several servants, so she was never short of people to accompany her wherever she went in the villa.

Yun Xin would also bring her son to visit An Ran whenever she had time, making An Ran happy, so apart from the constant vomiting, An Ran's pregnancy was pretty good.

The two often argued and then made up about the children.
