"I also know the key to Xiaotian and Xiaoling's problem."
This was something that had troubled Gu Anran for a long time. At first, she thought it was a misunderstanding, but as time went on, she became unsure. Unexpectedly, Elena saw through it.
Elena shared her thoughts, including her visit to Xiaoling that night in France. She deduced from Xiaoling's behavior that they actually liked each other. "Xiaoling probably misunderstood that Xiaotian liked me, and Xiaotian also felt that she didn't like him, which is why he acted that way."
Ultimately, it was a misunderstanding between the two and a lack of communication that led to them growing increasingly distant.
They were both quite surprised, never expecting it to be because of this. Several images flashed through their minds in an instant. At that time, she joked that Xiao Tian didn't seem happy, probably because Xiao Ling misunderstood. In the end, it was still Xiao Tian's fault.
Now that she knew the key to the problem, she finally had a direction. She got up and planned to talk to Xiaotian and ask him to take the initiative to talk to Xiaoling, but Elena stopped her.
"You just need to offer your support. The important thing now is for them to see each other's hearts clearly. Let them develop their feelings confidently." Although they both like each other, they are still young. As Xiaotian said, feelings can change, so it's better to let them figure it out themselves.
Ye Lichuan thought so too, "Let them handle their own affairs. They are still young, and there are too many uncertainties."
Gu Anran hesitated, but Huo Ge stepped forward to tell her not to worry. He said that if she was truly the right person, they would eventually reconcile. He even used his relationship with Jia Yunxin as an example, which finally dispelled her thoughts.
The four continued chatting in the living room. Elena was sociable and handled the conversations with the adults with ease.
“My father hoped that I would inherit his intelligence when I was born, but instead of his brain, I was given an eye for beauty.”
She showed them the photos she had taken. All of them looked beautiful and unique. There was one that Gu Anran recognized at a glance. It was a photo that had been published in an international geographical journal. Clearly, she was more suited to photography than studying.
Perhaps it's because all art forms are similar; when talking to Elena about photography, she could offer her own suggestions, which made their conversation even more enjoyable.
In the room, Xiaoling was lying on the table, with a video of the latest Paris Fashion Week runway show in front of her. On the notebook she was pressing down on, a few elegant characters could be faintly seen.
After a while, Xiaoling looked up, rubbed her eyes and continued watching the video. As she watched, she became distracted again, her mind filled with images of them together. She shook her head forcefully, forcing herself to concentrate.
As if she were competing with herself, Xiaoling bit her lower lip and refused to blink, even though her eyes were already bloodshot. After a minute, her eyes became sore and unbearable. She went to the balcony to get some fresh air, but her mood did not improve.
"Buzz~" The phone suddenly rang.
She quickly answered, "Hello, Grandma, everything is fine. Aunt Gu and the others are taking good care of me."
"I will definitely study hard, Grandma, please don't worry about me."
After hanging up the phone, she turned around and went back to the table, picked up her pen, and prepared to take notes. She couldn't let her grandmother down; her grandmother was still waiting for her to learn a skill and return home.
Perhaps with the support of her family, she quickly got into the zone this time. Based on what she had learned, she wrote a simple analysis of the video, marked down what she didn't understand, and then started looking at design books.
She bought this book herself from the library. It was much more difficult than the basic version. Although she could understand it, there were a few parts that she found very confusing. She couldn't understand the rest of the book unless she figured out the beginning and the end.
So she decided to ask Gu Anran directly. She took the notebook with her notes and walked down the stairs. Halfway down, she heard a pleasant laugh.
"Really? And then what happened?"
It was Elena's voice. Xiaoling froze on the spot, hesitant to take the next step.
In the living room, Gu Anran was telling Elena about the efforts she had made after discovering her love for design, hoping to use these examples to encourage Elena to continue her passion for photography. Huo Ge would occasionally chime in with a few words.
Xiaoling stood on the stairs listening to Elena speak fluently and confidently, even discerning her own opinions, while she sometimes felt nervous talking to strangers. Indeed, there was a big difference between them.
"Elena, you are really a very good girl." Hearing the teacher's praise, Xiaoling panicked. She stood there at a loss, and just as she was about to run away, Gu Anran saw her.
"Xiaoling, why are you standing there? Come here."
Xiao Ling slowly moved in front of her. She looked at Elena and found that Elena was smiling at her. What was meant to be a friendly smile was misunderstood as a provocation, which made her even sadder.
"What's wrong? Is there something you don't understand?" Gu Anran asked, puzzled as she saw her holding a book but not speaking.
"Teacher, a lot of us don't understand this."
Completely unaware of Xiaoling's psychological changes, Gu Anran took the book, glanced at it, and began to explain it to her. To help her understand, Gu Anran even drew a picture on the spot. After explaining it clearly, she thoughtfully asked Xiaoling if she understood.
Xiao Ling nodded and couldn't help but look at Elena. Noticing that she was lost in thought, Gu Anran called out to her, "Are you feeling unwell?"
"No, I'm sorry, teacher, I was daydreaming."
Gu Anran wasn't angry and continued talking to her. Halfway through, she remembered that Elena must be bored without anyone to talk to, so she looked up at her and said, "Do you want to go outside for a walk? I remember the environment around here is pretty nice."
"Okay, then I'll ask Auntie to let Xiaotian know when I get back later."
"Okay, go ahead. If you can't find your way, call me and I'll have Aunt Wu pick you up. Be careful." Gu Anran habitually gave two instructions, unaware that this only made Xiaoling's feelings more complicated.
After watching her leave, Gu Anran continued her tutoring, but only two minutes later she noticed that Xiaoling looked unwell. She reached out and touched her forehead, "Xiaoling, are you really feeling unwell?"
Xiaoling, her mind in turmoil, pursed her lips and shook her head. "Teacher, I'll go back to my room and think about these questions first."
Noticing something was wrong with her, Gu Anran asked a few more questions before agreeing. Xiaoling quickly ran back to her room, and tears started falling as soon as she got there. It seemed that the teacher really liked Elena and not her.
Large tears fell onto the back of her hand. She cried louder and louder, trying to vent her emotions, but she felt increasingly miserable. In the end, she started hiccuping.
After an unknown amount of time, the room fell silent. Xiaoling, with tears in her eyes, curled up under the covers and fell into a deep sleep.
