Chapter Twenty-One: Transcripts

Chapter Twenty-One: Transcripts

The last monthly exam before finals is here. There have been so many exams lately that it feels unreal.

We had our weekly test last weekend, and now we have our monthly test in the next couple of days.

You Sui'an's eyelids kept twitching.

She thought for a moment, "A twitching left eye means good fortune, a twitching right eye means bad luck, should I switch them?"

She doesn't believe in this, so she doesn't know, but recently her right eyelid has been twitching too fast.

You Sui'an was on tenterhooks when he was writing the exam paper.

When she was writing the follow-up to her English reading, she realized she only had twenty minutes left.

She glanced at the original text haphazardly and realized that she seemed to understand the gist of it. She picked up her pen and began to write, her letters flowing gracefully.

Fortunately, she finished writing before the bell rang, although each paragraph had more than two lines left blank. She didn't even have time to check if she had filled in the answer sheet correctly.

What's even more complicated is that she missed a question on the political exam while she was writing.

Help! Why politics? She filled every single question with her own writing, and she wrote so slowly.

With less than half an hour left, there are still two challenging questions left. I haven't even started analyzing those long questions yet. There's also one question with a misaligned section that I need to copy down.

You Suian looked at the questions, carefully checked the question numbers, and breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, I only skipped the most recent question, so I didn't have to make changes from beginning to end.

Otherwise, she really wouldn't be able to finish writing.

After the exams, we'll have a break; when we return to school, the results will be released.

You Sui'an couldn't help but marvel at how efficient the school was. Actually, it didn't have to be this efficient.

A large crowd was gathered around the podium looking at the report cards. You Suian was startled and didn't intend to move forward.

Anyway, it will be passed down during evening self-study. Although some people will stare at it and analyze it for a while, it won't be for too long. Everyone is too busy, after all, there's a ton of homework.

Moreover, everyone knows what to do during evening self-study on the day of returning to school. You Suian couldn't help but sigh, "The school is really clever."

When it was passed down to her, she started looking at it from the fifth position, and the further down she went, the lower her heart sank.

No way, this time it was this bad. Although she was mentally prepared, she still couldn't help feeling a little disappointed.

She looked very quickly, scanning through many entries in ten seconds. But she couldn't find her name among the top 30.

Suddenly, as if surprised, You Suian looked up slightly and discovered that his name was second.

This is just as delightful as finding light at the end of the tunnel. Unexpected joyous events often feel like a blessing, bringing surprise and delight.

She then looked at it carefully. She hadn't had high hopes for English and Politics, but both were among the top in her grade. She also performed well in the other subjects, even taking first place in Chinese, except… Geography.

Geography is truly a mysterious subject. You Sui'an looked at the original score of 62 and the assigned score of 73, and was somewhat silent, yet also wanted to laugh.

She looked further ahead and saw that the top student in the grade had a geography score of 89.

The top student in the grade only scored 5 points higher than her.

This was the closest You Sui'an had ever come to being number one in her grade. She wasn't obsessed with rankings; it's just that she had never achieved it, from childhood to adulthood.

You Suian sighed, but quickly smiled again. This was a good thing.

Being second in the grade is already very good; her best result before was third.

You Suian put down the report card with satisfaction and passed it to Li Yunxing behind him.

The idea that a twitching right eye signifies impending disaster is indeed feudal superstition.

She encountered many problems while taking the test, but the result was excellent.

However, You Suian is now really going to study geography carefully. Why is it that she couldn't even get 80 points in geography before she chose her subjects?

You wouldn't believe it, geography is a mysterious subject.

You Suian was unaware that geography seemed to have closed a door for her throughout her second year of high school.

In the second semester of her junior year, she once scored 58 on a test. She thought that after the grading, she would at least pass, but when she looked at the results, she only got 52. Even Li Yunxing couldn't help but laugh.

You Sui'an cast a resentful glance at her. She couldn't help but envy Li Yunxing; how could his memory be so good? He was practically dying from memorizing.

Fortunately, she glanced at the report card again and couldn't help but laugh when she saw his geography score of 65. She was almost fooled by him.

"Hahaha, you're ranked over 500th in the grade, right? Let me see, I'm seventh from the bottom in my class, and you're still laughing at me?" You Suian looked at him mockingly.

Li Yunxing didn't understand how she could laugh at him, who was over 60, so naturally when she was in her 50s. After all, he was more than ten years older. But You Sui'an was just like that, doing whatever he wanted.

Li Yunxing snorted and smiled in a slightly irritating way: "That's still much better than being ranked over 700th in the grade."

You Suian didn't think it was a big deal; in fact, she found it a bit amusing. After all, it was rare for the assigned score to be lower than the original score, and she had already boasted about it to her dear deskmate with a smile.

“It’s a talent,” You Suian said with a grin.

Seeing her laughing so happily, Li Yunxing replied, "I stole the picture, but you can keep the talent yourself."

You Suian glared at him, her eyes full of self-confidence and encouragement for Li Yunxing: "Go ahead and dream big, you can do it."

No, he can't.

Li Yunxing looked at her reproachfully, a smile playing on his lips: "So amazing, of course only our An'an can do it, no one else can." He spoke "An'an" very softly, as if he were shy.

Visiting Sui'an was captivating. Like a beautiful woman half-concealing her face while playing the pipa.

As if bewitched, she readily agreed.

However, they did share a common suffering.

Geography is indeed too mysterious. Even if You Sui'an is smart and Li Yunxing has a good memory, they still have to obediently rank last.

Even the most brilliant person has to be humble when it comes to geography.

They smiled at each other, then honestly began to examine their mistakes.

Final exams are approaching, time really flies. The exam papers on my desk are already piled up high.

You Sui'an had a bad habit. She would usually put the papers she hadn't yet taught on the table for easy access, but she always forgot to put the papers she had taught into the file folder.

The desk is now a complete mess. There are so many test papers scattered around, and sometimes the papers she's been looking for for a long time are stuck between other papers.

Once found, it was no longer needed. You Sui'an often felt distressed.

But tidying up the papers often takes half an hour, and touring Suian is also a hassle.

Let's just let things be chaotic while we're in Sui'an. What's meant to be found will be found eventually.

This time, however, Li Yunxing's test paper was nowhere to be found either. Five minutes later, there was a rustling sound of pages turning behind her.

You Sui'an blushed slightly. Could this be the same sheet of paper she'd asked Li Yunxing to copy because she couldn't finish her homework that day?

She felt a little guilty, glancing at her messy desk and then at the test paper she had only found two minutes later.

She sighed, put the pile of papers on the table in her lap, and then threw them onto the table one by one.

Looking at the neat and symmetrical handwriting, You Suian's ears turned a little red.

She now has to admit that it's really awful that the school doesn't allow people to wear their hair down.

She turned around, and Li Yunxing was looking at her too.

You Sui'an smiled sheepishly and said in a low voice, "Your exam paper. Sorry."

Li Yunxing rarely saw You Suian looking guilty, and found it quite novel. However, since they were in class, he smiled and said it was nothing, then took the test paper.

"What a good temper," You Sui'an thought to himself.

"And patience," she added subtly.

Tang Qingyue noticed their undercurrent of tension, looked curiously at You Suian, and whispered, "How come his exam paper is with you?"

You Suian coughed lightly and gave a humming sound as if trying to cover up his embarrassment.

“You went to the bathroom then, and I forgot there was such an assignment, so I snatched Li Yunxing’s and copied it.”

Yes, that's right, robbed. Tang Qingyue felt that Li Yunxing must have been robbed, and that she was being handed over to You Sui'an while being robbed.

Tsk tsk tsk, just a little trick by a young couple.

Tang Qingyue felt bright and radiant.

You Sui'an was also a little embarrassed.

However, she has made up her mind that she will never take the wrong test paper again.

"If I take the wrong one again, I'll tidy up my desk properly," she secretly vowed.

Of course, decisions are meant to be proven wrong.

Tang Qingyue looked at her neatly categorized test papers, searched for two minutes, but still couldn't find the one that would be covered in this lesson. She smiled slightly and glanced at You Suian.

The meaning couldn't be clearer.

You Sui'an said somewhat uncertainly, "It shouldn't be... here with me... right?"

She blinked.

The last word was spoken with a slight upward inflection. It was clear that You Sui'an was very guilty.

She obediently flipped through her pile of test papers.

Wow! It's really here.

You Sui'an smiled somewhat shyly, looking both bashful and adorable. It was obvious he was imitating Li Yunxing.

Tang Qingyue knew it, so she gently tapped her shoulder and took her own test paper.

Tang Qingyue looked at You Suian teasingly, as if she had suddenly remembered something: "You're getting better and better at pretending to be innocent."

You Sui'an winked playfully. Her eyes were innocent and naive.

That afternoon, You Sui'an packed up her things, because she had secretly made a promise.

She sighed. She sorted them one by one, then neatly placed them into a file folder.

Although the papers on the table were a mess, the files in the folder were very neat. Monthly exams one, two, etc., were placed in order, the topical papers were also put together, and the supplementary materials were also neatly organized.

When Li Yunxing passed by, he was somewhat surprised to see You Suian organizing the exam papers.

Just as You Suian was about to look up at the digital clock on the wall, she saw Li Yunxing staring at her curiously without moving.

You Sui'an said helplessly, "Since you're finding this so interesting, then you can help me put it away."

Li Yunxing gave a blank "Oh".

You Sui'an was just joking with him, but he didn't expect him to actually come over to his seat.

You Sui'an didn't stand on ceremony anymore and handed him a pile of unopened items with a smile.

"You can put each subject's papers in one pile, and I'll collect the rest myself."

Li Yunxing listened attentively and nodded earnestly.

You Suian thought for a moment, then got up and let Li Yunxing sit in her seat, while he himself prepared to sit in Tang Qingyue's seat.

Li Yunxing quickly shook her head, blushing as she said, "No need," and then went about tidying up the papers on her own.

More and more people filled the classroom.

The rustling sound of the test paper being turned gradually faded.

They quickly sorted out a large pile of papers.

You Suian looked at the much tidier desk and smiled with some relief.
