Nightmare
Luna was watching the battlefield from a high vantage point. A large force was blocking their path from the front, and the other two troublesome Upper Moons had been dealt with by several Pillars. Everything was currently under control.
The Water Pillar, Mist Pillar, and Love Pillar faced off against Upper Moon Three, a demon named Akaza, whom the three had heard Rengoku mention. Giyu Tomioka quickly awakened his Demon Slayer Mark and advanced alongside Muichiro, whose face also bore a mark. Kanroji assisted from the side, blocking a precisely targeted attack.
Akaza seemed quite excited. He'd never seen the Mist Pillar before, and he hadn't encountered the Water Pillar in years either. The only problem was the Love Pillar, who was a woman and quite annoying. He didn't want to fight her, so he could only force her away.
Especially when Tanjiro was kicked in front of him by a demon, he revealed an even happier smile. This weak human, whom he hadn't killed last time and who had even been scolded by Lord Muzan, had appeared before him again.
Luna nodded slightly. Very good, it's settled. Akaza is doomed. Even without any prior arrangement, the protagonist's growth path is unbreakable.
She closed her eyes, breathed deeply, and gathered her chakra again, regaining her eye power.
Shinobu Kocho, who was also focused on the battle, worked with Tamayo to reap the rewards from demons comparable to the Lower Moons. Her eyes darted left and right, searching for the other Upper Moons; it seemed the deaths of Upper Moon Six, Upper Moon Four, and Upper Moon Five hadn't been fully accounted for yet.
Why didn't I see it on page 2?
"Yushiro, search!" Tamayo shouted immediately, afraid of missing an Upper Moon. If an Upper Moon suddenly appeared here, the Demon Slayer Corps would suffer heavy casualties.
A short while later, a crow flew over, and Yushiro's voice came from the rune on its chest: "Lady Tamayo, there's no need to look anymore. Upper Moon Two was killed by a magician in the Infinity Castle."
They breathed a sigh of relief, and while fighting the enemy, they pulled out those who could not fight and handed them over to the logistics troops.
—On the other side—
Kokushibo sensed something was wrong. The massive rock pillar's meteor hammer and axe were fierce and powerful, and the weapons made of refined iron were almost invincible. The wind pillar, whom he had met once before, had become even faster and more valiant. The short boy with the snake could change direction with his breathing technique, making it tricky and unpredictable.
Good teamwork is nothing special.
But after 10 minutes of fighting, the three of them were completely unharmed?
His blade was so unpredictable; even if the large crescent moon couldn't strike, the small crescent moon could still inflict damage. Yet these three pillars perfectly dodged Moon Call, as if they had practiced it countless times, with unparalleled skill.
Even if a mage had given them some pointers, it wouldn't have come to this. His special moves and attack range are far beyond what a little girl could achieve overnight.
How could someone be so skilled?
There's definitely something wrong here!
Seeing Kokushibo stop attacking, Shinazugawa smiled sinisterly, looking even more like a villain than Upper Moon One: "Heh~ Scared now?"
He was a little anxious, hoping to finish off Upper Moon One quickly, otherwise he would be extremely annoyed if that woman recovered and came over with her sword to steal his head.
"Hey~ Shinazugawa, calm down." Obanai Iguro's forehead creased with annoyance. He also harbored some resentment towards Luna, but he needed to deal with the situation calmly.
He and Shinazugawa were probably the most unlucky among the Pillars. When sparring with Luna, it seemed that only they were the ones getting their heads stepped on, their backs stomped on, and their bellies poked. Moreover, Luna even trampled him into the mud in front of Kanroji, making him utterly humiliated.
Luna knew exactly what the two were thinking. She was doing it on purpose. The two boys, who were both very proud, were angry and embarrassed, but they were definitely motivated to improve. The two of them had made the most progress.
"Guard your mind!" Rock Pillar shouted, his body erupting with a heavy, rock-like battle aura, causing the ground to crack and rocks to float in the air.
Second Form: Sky Shattered!
The chained meteor hammer and giant axe flew past like countless fists, snapping the blocking ghost blade in two.
Breath of the Wind - Eighth Form - First Gale - Slaying Yama!
Shinazugawa quickly followed, for he was an expert at seizing opportunities. He swept across the land like a hurricane, his blade tearing through the air. It was no longer a simple charge, but a vortex of countless azure wind blades, slashing towards Kokushibo from all directions.
Snake Breathing - Fifth Form - Winding Serpent!
Iguro's swordplay was so bizarre that it defied visual perception, the blade meandering like a living snake. It wasn't a straight line, nor a curve, but rather a slash that existed simultaneously from multiple directions.
But Kokushibo was unaffected; the three were too agile, so he targeted them for a kill. Several blades sprouted from his body, each with rows of eyes, a truly chilling sight.
Just as the three were about to be struck, a figure crashed into them and was instantly sliced into several pieces. Tamayo's head fell to the ground, having activated her Blood Demon Art.
Insect Breathing, Dragonfly Dance, Hexagonal Compound Eyes!
Shinobu arrived just in time, unleashing a six-hit combo that injected Kokushibo with her own concocted poison. She hoped it would work quickly, weaken the enemy, narrow the gap between humans and demons, and allow her comrades to survive.
"Damn it! Upper Moon!" Yushiro, who was saving people, was so angry that he almost crushed the syringe. His beautiful, kind, gentle and lovely Lady Tamayo had actually been injured.
"Poison?" Kokushibo looked at the purple marks on his body with disdain, then turned to the traitor on the ground: "How dare you show your face in front of Lord Muzan."
When Tamayo saw Upper Moon One, she was reminded of that man, the one who had driven Muzan to the brink of defeat. She couldn't help but laugh, her purple eyes filled with mockery.
"Hehehe, it's a shame you look so much like that lord... yet you've fallen to this state."
Kokushibo couldn't stand that name, the man who, even in his old age and frail body, had almost killed him. He raised his foot to crush Tamayo's head, but was forced back by the meteor hammer in the next second, and the three pillars entangled him again.
Shinobu Kocho quickly followed, pulling Tamayo out and piecing her back together, while also injecting her with medication to facilitate her rapid recovery. Tamayo hadn't eaten anyone in a long time, so she needed some medication to recover quickly.
"Are you alright?"
"It's alright, we just need to kill the Upper Moon quickly."
Tamayo shook her head. She couldn't let Upper Moon and Muzan reunite, otherwise that bastard might escape again. If he did escape, he might find a way to disrupt her and Shinobu's hard work on their research.
She has already waited for hundreds of years, and she absolutely cannot wait for hundreds more!
"Go!" Shinobu Kocho nodded slightly. The poison had been administered, and the timing was just right.
"Mr. Shinazugawa!" Tamayo shouted, rushing forward to grab Kokushibo's arm.
Upon hearing this voice, Shinazugawa paused for a moment as Crescent Moon slashed his chest, causing blood to spurt out, but it couldn't conceal the smug smile on his lips.
Kokushibo's six eyes twitched slightly, and his body swayed involuntarily, as if he were so drunk that he couldn't stand steadily. The three pillars then charged forward, this time neither dodging nor blocking, and struck him on the head.
The rarest of rare blood?
No, it's not just the taste.
Something seems wrong with my body.
"Brother..." He heard the voice again in a daze. The old Yoriichi stood in front of him, tears streaming down his face. His head was throbbing so badly it felt like it was about to split open.
Bang!
A meteor hammer came flying at him, and he realized that his head was really about to split open.
[Kill them! Kill as many as you can, Kokushibo.]
Two voices tore at his mind, one from Yoriichi, the other from Muzan. Blood flowed from his mouth as he looked at himself through his brother's eyes, a wave of sorrow washing over him. Perhaps he should have died 400 years ago. He glanced toward Lord Muzan, where he saw a girl in a prison cart using Moon Breathing to slay demons.
Suddenly, he felt a sense of relief. In his final moments, all that remained in his vision was Yoriichi, and he recalled the days when he and his brother hunted demons together.
Upper Moon One, Kuroshibo, is dead!
Those who participated in the battle breathed a sigh of relief; they had all survived, unharmed.
"Thanks to Miss Tamayo's medicine." Shinobu Kocho smiled. She hadn't expected Upper Moon One's inner demons to be so severe. She had only used a hallucinogenic drug to kill him.
"It's all thanks to everyone." Tamayo pried her arm back together again; Upper Moon One was no easy opponent to kill.
Screams, shouts of battle, and a cruel dance of blood and life unfolded continuously on the bombed wreckage. Many demons fell, and even humans could not escape death.
The defensive lines were changed repeatedly, and wounded soldiers kept appearing; there wasn't a single person on the scene who wasn't injured. Fortunately, as night deepened, Upper Moon Three finally died.
Muzan, the villain everyone was watching, made a move at this moment. With a loud bang, a bulge appeared in the solid iron prison cart.
boom!
The prison van developed a small crack.
With a violent tearing sound of metal and a deafening flash of lightning, a white-haired, red-eyed man in long johns sprang out. He stood quietly on the prison cart, a serrated whip swirling around him, his head slightly tilted back as he surveyed his surroundings, his eyes filled with a strong…appetite.
But all he saw was a man wearing a red kimono, with a high ponytail and facial markings. His pink, vertical pupils constricted as he listened to the sound of straw sandals on the grass, his eyes widening in horror.
Tsugikuni Yoriichi?
How could that be!
That freak has been dead for hundreds of years.
[What's fun to do?]
[What's interesting about it?]
What do you consider human life to be?
Yoriichi just stared at him, getting closer and closer before drawing his Nichirin Blade. Flames flickered from the crimson blade, making even demons tremble at the sight.
"Don't come any closer!" Muzan's previous cool demeanor vanished completely. He instinctively wanted to explode his body and escape, but for some reason, he couldn't.
He could only run away on foot, not daring to stop for even a second, for fear that the scorching blade would cut him.
Clang clang clang!
Muzan felt as if he had been chopped into eight hundred pieces, his entire demon scattered on the ground. But the next second, he opened his eyes again and found himself still alive, back on the prison cart. In the same posture, he was searching for food to fill his stomach.
That man appeared in front of me again!
"Aaaaaaah!"
"Don't come any closer!"
The pillars outside the illusion array fell silent. The screams, the reactions—they were exceptional. But why was the Ghost King being tortured so badly inside the illusion array, just like them? Who was torturing him?
"Who's in the illusion?" Tanjiro, who was being bandaged, was very curious. Who could have made the Demon King suffer like this?
That's a good question. Everyone's eyes turned to Luna, their eyes filled with interest.
"Thank you for the memories, Miss Tamayo." Luna proudly raised her chin and smugly pointed her index finger. Although her illusion array was not yet lethal, Muzan was already terrified and didn't need much detail.
Before Muzan overcomes his psychological barriers, he probably won't even dare to resist.
Tamayo's cheeks were slightly flushed, and even though she was covered in blood, it couldn't hide her good mood.
