Wen's

Wen's

Mo Qiuyan held Xiao Wu in his arms and looked inside quietly from the back door of the main hall of the Mo family, feeling a bit ominous.

Even though she had never seen them before, she could still recognize the identities of the guests in the hall from their clothes: the Wen family of Qishan.

As everyone knows, except for the Wen Qing lineage, nothing good will happen where the Wen family is.

Mo Qiuyan also agreed with this.

However, because they were too far away, Mo Qiuyan could not hear clearly what his father and the Wen family discussed, but the latter's unhappy expressions were a dangerous signal.

The air was filled with the smell of gunpowder, as if it could produce a string of sparks.

Finally, the leader of the Wen family said something threateningly, turned around and walked out with his men. Mo Qiuyan hurriedly hid in the shadow by the door and watched them leave with a bad face.

For more than a month, the Mo family was safe and sound, but Mo Qiuyan's ominous premonition became stronger and stronger.

Mo Qiuyan: I bet that what comes next is either the main plot or the main storyline.

......

Mo Qiuyan came back to his senses in a burst of fire.

Flames danced in the distance, engulfing everything around them. The air was filled with the smell of blood, and crimson light shot up into the sky. The blood-red patterns on Yan Yang's blazing robe seemed to come alive and pulsate. The thick smoke made her want to cough, but she couldn't make a sound. If she revealed her position, what awaited her was an endless abyss.

"The Mo Clan of Jinghu, who have harmed the people around them, should abandon their path to immortality and be expelled from the ranks of the Hundred Immortal Clan!"

A trace of anger flashed across Sect Leader Mo's brow, but he maintained a faint smile as he said coldly, "Since you are accusing my Mo clan of bringing disaster to all living beings, then why not produce evidence? Otherwise, empty words will not convince anyone."

The leading Wen family member said arrogantly, "Pretending to be stupid? Well, your Mo family has been swordsmithing for generations, crafting and selling countless weapons to various families. Yet, you actually cut corners, causing the deaths of several Wen family disciples during a night hunt."

"Then I, Lan, would like to ask, is there a possibility that it is your disciples' lack of skill, rather than a problem with my Mo family's weapons?"

A clear voice reached everyone's ears, and they all turned to look. Lan Shu stepped into the hallway, no longer her usual cheerful demeanor. She angrily said, "Even if the weapon isn't top-grade, an ordinary disciple can still survive against a mid-level or lower evil spirit. Don't blame the road for your own failure. How can you be unable to defeat a strange sword?"

"I've been waiting for you to ask this," the Wen clan leader thought to himself. He threw something forward at random, and the Mohists saw it was a broken sword.

"This sword is one of the spiritual swords that my Wen Clan purchased here last month. And it was only used once after receiving it."

Sect Master Mo suppressed his strong irritation and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

"What do you mean? Humph! The Jinghu Mo family cut corners in the sword-making process for the sake of profit. A brand new sword was scrapped after just one use. What else can it mean?"

Lan Shu stared at the broken sword on the ground and noticed something. She said, "That's not right. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the sword on the ground. It's just a mid-grade spiritual sword. But the one who used it was indeed a master. The spiritual sword couldn't withstand the powerful spiritual flow, so it broke. It's not a quality issue."

A trace of anger flashed in the leader's eyes, and he shouted angrily, "What nonsense! Stop struggling in vain. Your Jinghu Mo family is no longer worthy of being a weapons supplier to the cultivation world. If you don't hand over the Spirit Refining Principle, get out of the cultivation world!"

The Spirit Refining Principle is the fundamental source of the Mo Clan's magical instrument refining technology. It is their priceless treasure and the foundation on which they have established themselves among the hundreds of immortal sects. No outsider knows their mindset, but they deeply understand their value.

This is obviously what they are here for!

Lan Shu was about to explode when Sect Master Mo stopped her with a look. He sent a telepathic message, "There's no way you can escape this disaster today. I'll buy you time. You take Ah Yan and the others and go outside to hide. Tell the other disciples to secretly prepare for battle."

Lan Shu wanted to ask, "What are you going to do?" but she had to compromise under the circumstances. She pretended not to accept and walked away in anger.

She walked quickly through the back door of the hall, picked up Mo Qiuyan who was eavesdropping in the corner (Qiu: I was obviously hiding very well!), took her away quietly, and walked towards the secret passage in the mansion.

The other side

The leader naturally knew what Lan Shu had gone out to do, but he still had to go through the motions and said, "I'll ask you one last time, are you going to hand it over or not?"

Sect Master Mo's eyes darkened. "The Refined Spirit is a treasure passed down through generations of our Mo family. How could you possibly get your hands on it?"

The opportunity lies at this very moment. As soon as he finished speaking, he drew his weapon and charged at the leader!

But the Wen family member was not without skills. He drew his sword to block the attack, and the two began to fight each other.

In an instant, sword flashes shot into the sky, accompanied by the constant sound of metal rubbing against metal. The two were equally matched in strength, and it would take considerable time to defeat the other, a fact the leader realized. He withdrew from the fray and fired a flare into the air. Suddenly, countless arrows, laced with flames, launched from outside the Mo Mansion, gradually engulfing it in flames.

Mo Qiuyan's side.

Lan Shu stopped in front of a rockery, took off the silver hairpin on her head, tapped the rock surface a few times, and a secret passage appeared in front of Mo Qiuyan. She leaned forward to pick up Mo Qiuyan, but was stopped by her. "I can run by myself." Mo Qiuyan said, wondering why these Wen family swordsmen couldn't let him live a good life.

After passing through the secret passage, a river appeared before them. A fishing boat was tied to the river, and a disciple dressed as a fisherman was waiting on it. Mo Qiuyan had seen him before; he was one of the most outstanding disciples.

"Madam," the disciple said, looking at the Mo Mansion in the distance, which was already ablaze, "but shall I take you and the young lady with me?"

"I can't," Lan Shu gave Mo Qiuyan a final, deep look before putting her into the boat. Mo Qiuyan also realized something and was trying to climb out of the boat. "Just hide Ah Yan. The Mo family is in trouble, and as the mistress, I can't just ignore it."

She leaned over and took off the folding fan from Mo Qiuyan's waist, and placed it in Mo Qiuyan's lapel along with the silver hairpin she had just taken off. She whispered in her ear, "You can't lose either of these two things. Protect yourself. Do you understand?"

Mo Qiuyan grabbed Lan Shu's clothes and said, "Don't go." Her eyes were red.

Lan Shu lowered her eyes, removed her hand, and gave her one last, tight hug. "Come back when this is over." She struck Mo Qiuyan on the back of the neck and carried her unconscious into the cabin. She stripped off Mo Qiuyan's outer robe, emblazoned with the Mo family crest, and looked at her disciples, "Protect her." Then, she resolutely turned and rushed to the battlefield, never looking back. She was afraid that if she looked back again, she would not want to leave.

After falling into a true coma, Mo Qiuyan finally opened her eyes a crack and looked at the figure in the firelight. "How dazzling," she thought drowsily, and then her eyes fell into darkness.

......

When she woke up from the shaking, she found herself being held by the disciple, carefully hidden in a secret compartment under the deck. The disciple was a boy of about fifteen or sixteen. His face was slightly frightened, but his hands were still nimble.

"Shh, don't make any noise, someone from the Wen family is coming." He tugged at his fisherman's clothes and glanced inconspicuously at a couple from the Wen family a hundred meters away.

Mo Qiuyan curled up obediently in the small secret compartment, trying not to make any sound. The secret compartment was carefully designed by the craftsmen. There was a peephole hidden in the corner of the deck that was almost impossible for outsiders to find. From the inside, you can see outside while it is difficult for outsiders to find it.

Mo Qiuyan looked outside cautiously through the peephole, not even daring to breathe.

The Wen family had clearly spotted the fishing boat and immediately surrounded it. The disciple took a deep breath and spoke in a fluent local accent, "Masters, are you looking for a ride? This is a fishing boat, and it can't accommodate so many people. The passenger boat is a few miles further downstream."

The patterns on the robes of this group of people were simple, and they were obviously a group of outer disciples of the Wen family who wanted to seek merits to improve their status.

The leading Wen family member clearly didn't believe him. With a wave of his hand, several Wen family members began to search the cabin. The Wen family members' hearts tightened as they passed the hidden trapdoor of the secret compartment several times.

A member of the Wen family was searching him, and the disciple thought to himself that he was lucky he didn't have a sword. But when the other party reached for his hair, he suddenly remembered something and started, and a small, sharp piece of metal fell to the deck.

The leader picked it up, and on it was the Mohist family crest. This was a hidden weapon that could be concealed in hair.

"It's the Mo family!" The disciple of the Wen family next to him raised his sword and swung it down. A bloody wound instantly appeared on Qin Guan's neck. Without even being able to say a word, he fell to the ground, and a pool of blood spread out under him.

"Check again to see if there's anyone else."

"yes!"

Mo Qiuyan's eyes widened, and she desperately covered her mouth to prevent herself from screaming. This was the first time she had witnessed death. The smell of blood filled the air, and the cabin swayed under the impact of the water, making her want to vomit. Qin Guan's body fell towards her. Mo Qiuyan didn't dare look at him anymore. She sat in the cramped space of the secret compartment, covering her face.

Suddenly, the secret door was gently opened a crack without making a sound. Mo Qiuyan looked up suddenly and stared at a disciple of the Wen family.

The student looked young, with a tiny scar on his left eyelid. He stumbled upon the trapdoor's switch, but didn't expect to see someone inside. Seeing it was a child, he seemed to be caught in a fierce struggle.

"Have you found anything?" The voices of his companions came from the other side of the boat. Due to the location of the trapdoor, one had to go around to see it, so no one saw what he was doing or what he found.

"What... nothing," the disciple made up his mind, gently closing the trapdoor and hiding it. "Maybe the man on the boat is just a deserter who saw that his family was in trouble and ran away on his own."

A trace of doubt flashed through the leader's mind, but before he could think about it, the disciple next to him pointed to the distance and said, "There's a group of Mo clan remnants over there!"

When the group heard this, they didn't think much and rushed forward with their swords drawn. The disciple turned his head to look at the trapdoor and rushed forward as well.

......

Mo Qiuyan blinked, a little unable to recover.

Why would he let himself go?

Why is she the only one left?

She buried her head in her hands and really cried out loud.
