Chapter 32

Chapter 32

The next day, the sky was clear and blue.

It's a good time to go out for a walk.

"Uncle Su!"

When did you arrive?

As soon as Lingxi stepped out of the hotel, she saw Suzhou Road with cars leaning against the roadside.

When the person they were waiting for came out, the chubby man on Suzhou Road had a smile on his face that looked like a Maitreya Buddha, which was particularly endearing.

He simply said, "I just arrived too."

"Come on, get in the car. I'll take you wherever you want to go. Today, I'm your personal driver."

Suzhou Road eagerly opened all the car doors.

The car had clearly been thoroughly cleaned, and the exterior was brand new and shiny. If it weren't for the fading in some places over the years, people would believe it was a new car.

With things having come to this point, Lingxi said helplessly, "Thank you for your trouble, Uncle Su."

Lingxi and Jin Moli got into the back seat. Yun Qingzi put her bag in the trunk and sat in the passenger seat. She noticed that the car was unusually cool and comfortable. She also noticed that he had just put down the half-finished bottle of mineral water.

Yun Qingzi paused in her action of fastening the seatbelt, glanced at him discreetly, and continued to fasten the seatbelt.

Lingxi already had a destination in mind and said directly, "Let's go straight to Linlan Road, Uncle Su, I'll send you the address."

"Alright, everyone sit tight."

Now that they were on Suzhou Road, Lingxi asked with concern, "Where's your aunt? Is she home alone?"

Suzhou Lu naturally made all the arrangements and said with a smile, "I've taken her back to her parents' home."

“My mother-in-law has someone at home who is always there to keep her company, which makes me feel more at ease.”

"That's not bad."

Lingxi looked out the window and felt relaxed.

The sunlight streamed through the glass and shone on her face. The curve of her lips and her delicate features seemed to give her a divine quality.

If someone knew her before, they might not recognize her at all.

Lingxi took a deep breath, and a faint lemon scent filled her nostrils.

Clear and rich.

Lingxi subconsciously looked down.

The lemons under the front tree seemed to have been replaced again; the cut ends of the lemon branches were moist, as if they had just been picked from the tree.

Uncle Su, you're so thoughtful.

Lingxi felt unworthy of such kindness, even though it was just a small favor.

After Jin Moli sat down, she looked around and noticed the lemons underneath.

I bent down, reached out, and curiously picked one up, bringing it close to my nose for a light sniff.

"Huh~"

She seemed to smell the tangy scent of citrus.

Jin Moli took another sniff before putting the lemon back in its place.

The sun shone brightly outside the car window, and pedestrians hurried past in twos and threes.

She retrieved her past joys and sorrows from the depths of her heart, savoring them with a unique flavor.

Today is a weekday, and there aren't many pedestrians on the streets during the day.

Linlan Street is a must-visit street for shopping for clothes in S City.

The whole street is lined with clothing stores.

Lingxi's favorite original design brand, Huaxi Valley, is located on Linlan Street.

The clothes inside are mostly classic or modified Chinese style, especially the skirts with various exquisite embroidery.

Lingxi especially loves the designs at her home; you rarely see the same designs as someone else.

In particular, the quality of each item is very guaranteed.

Of course, with all these factors combined, the price of a single garment can be quite attractive.

She has limited funds, so she usually just goes shopping and is satisfied with buying one item a year.

Huaxi Valley is located at the intersection of Linlan Street, with convenient transportation in the surrounding area.

The vehicle slowly came to a stop in front of a three-story Chinese-style villa, with a small courtyard and a wooden fence covered with pink roses.

Suzhou Lu and Yun Qingzi sat in the car and didn't come over.

Jin Moli, on the other hand, skipped and hopped into the store, holding Lingxi's hand.

"Hello, welcome to our Flower Valley."

When the shop assistant heard the noise and turned around, her eyes unconsciously fell on Lingxi. Her breathing became lighter and her voice became even sweeter.

"Madam, what style would you like to see?"

Lingxi had been there many times before, and she told the shop assistant directly, "I want a new dress this year, preferably one that can be worn to formal occasions."

"Of course, please come with me."

The shop assistant, dressed in a gray fitted uniform, turned her head and raised her hand to lead the way.

The first floor of Huaxi Valley mainly sells basic clothing items.

Upon arriving on the second floor, one finds a variety of exquisite garments on display, showcasing the latest season's clothing.

“Master, Liang… Jingjing’s dress.”

Jin Moli pointed to a black dress inlaid with pearls and gemstones. The light shone on it, making the whole dress sparkle and radiate brilliance.

She had only ever seen pretty dresses on television.

The clothes in town and county are not as nice as these.

"Even your master's eyes were almost blinded by the light."

Jin Moli smiled and giggled, "Beautiful...and...pretty dresses, so many...so many."

Lingxi naturally liked it very much too.

Unfortunately, she couldn't afford it.

It's her fault.

I thought she would be a little disappointed if the store didn't have any clothes that would suit her.

Lingxi looked down at her disciple.

Meeting those clear eyes made Lingxi pause for a moment.

There is no possessiveness or sense of loss in it, but rather an appreciation for beautiful things.

Lingxi followed her gaze to a strapless dress embroidered with flowers and birds in the center.

The embroidery on it is so smooth and natural, so lifelike, that you can't bear to look away.

"Tap...tap..."

Light footsteps came from behind her.

Lingxi withdrew her gaze and turned to the approaching shop assistant.

"Madam, I've picked out a few items for you. Would you like to come over and take a look?"

The sales assistant has a great eye; the styles she picked out mostly suited her taste.

"Madam, there is a fitting room next door. If the size is not right, we can adjust it on the spot."

"Okay, I'll give it a try."

As Lingxi stepped out of the fitting room, Jin Moli and the shop assistants waiting outside simultaneously showed amazement in their eyes.

"How about it?"

"Super...good-looking."

Lingxi chose a white fitted dress that showed off her smooth figure. The Chinese-style buttons on the collar accentuated her elegant and graceful neckline.

Jin Moli looked left and right.

She thought her master looked good in any clothes.

The owner of Huaxi Valley happened to come into the store and bumped into the beautiful woman who had changed out of her clothes. He murmured, "Is she wearing our clothes?"

The dress itself has a nice design.

But the more you look at her, the deeper her brows furrow. She is beautiful, but it makes you look less attractive and doesn't bring out her beauty at all.

The accompanying store manager was also somewhat dazed, "It seems to be one of our new styles this year."

"How low-class!"

The store manager tilted his head: ? ? ?

"Go down to the third floor and bring that down?"

"That one?" The shop manager asked, puzzled. "Didn't you say that no one could pull it off and that you were planning to keep it as a collector's item?"

The boss glanced at her, a subtle charm emanating from her, and tapped her fingertips lightly on the table. Her voice trailed off with a coquettish, alluring tone: "I've changed my mind~"

"Go, baby~"

The store manager felt a shiver run down her spine for a moment. Having worked with the boss for several years, this sudden turn of events was almost too much for her, a straight woman who is male.

Clutching her chest, she floated up to the third floor, feeling lightheaded.

The boss didn't mind; she was used to being the center of attention.

Her bright red fingernails lightly brushed across her arm, her eyes fixed straight ahead without blinking.

Lingxi and Jin Moli noticed someone approaching and turned their heads simultaneously.

"Ladies, I am Huaxi, the chief designer of Huaxi Valley."

Hua Xi slowly approached, her figure swaying gracefully as her form-fitting dress accentuated her captivating beauty.

She stopped in front of the two of them, her red lips slightly parted.

"She's so beautiful!"

The shop assistant stepped back a few paces to give them space to talk.

Lingxi naturally recognized the visitor as the owner and designer of Huaxi Valley.

However, these were usually just photos; this was the first time she had met her in person.

"Hello," Lingxi replied with a smile.

The two short words were spoken with a clear and gentle tone, as if carried by a gentle breeze.

This only strengthened the boss's resolve.

Her captivating peach blossom eyes curved into a smile as she cheerfully said, "I see you're choosing a dress, ma'am. Would you be interested in taking a look at the dress I'm holding?"

Lingxi was naturally very interested, but she hesitated. After all, she didn't have a job and had two apprentices to support, and she was afraid that she wouldn't be able to afford the extra cost.

He was about to refuse.

But Hua Xi interrupted him.

"Quickly, bring it here so the lady can see it."

Hua Xi naturally noticed something, and instructed the shop manager to bring it over before slowly approaching the woman's side and whispering, "Try it on without worry, the price is the same as what you're wearing."

At this moment, two more young women arrived on the second floor.

The shop assistants brought them in to choose clothes.

As the two walked over, one of them slowed down, tugged at the sleeve of the woman in red, and said shyly, "The clothes here are a bit expensive. Let's not choose again. It's too much of a waste."

"Speak," she pursed her lips and said softly, "I can wear the same dress as the other bridesmaids."

"What's wrong with that? You're the matchmaker for me and Aheng, so you have to dress properly."

The woman in red didn't seem to agree with her words, and with a slight pull of her wrist, she dragged the woman over.

The woman looked helpless, as if she had no choice but to let others arrange things for her.

As the group passed by Lingxi, they were particularly struck by the dress she had tried on. As the air conditioning blew in, her glossy black hair danced in the breeze, not to mention her otherworldly beauty, making her seem like an immortal. Looking at her, they couldn't conceive a single unpleasant thought; their hearts were filled with admiration for her beauty.

"So beautiful."

The woman in red also stopped and murmured to herself.

However, upon seeing her face, she felt a sense of familiarity, yet she did not recall anyone so outstanding.

She thought about it, but couldn't come up with an answer, so she simply stopped thinking about it.

The woman following behind was also stunned for a moment, frozen in place.

In that brief moment, she could already imagine herself as the protagonist, wearing this dress, standing under the flashing lights, being praised and the center of attention.

Her gaze was fixed on the woman in white, her eyes glazed over, and a foolish smile appeared on her face.

"Yaoyao, she looks like a fairy!"

An Ruo's soft words, however, were like a heavy boulder, shattering Li Yao's beautiful dream and bringing her back to the cruel reality.

She was just an inconspicuous customer in the clothing store, but what attracted attention was a beautiful and elegant stranger.

The more she looked, the more her heart felt like it was being torn apart by countless claws, making her unbearably itchy.

Li Yao's face was hidden in the shadows, the dim light concealing her loss of composure.

Her eyes flickered, and her face returned to its usual gentle expression. She took the red-clad woman's hand and said casually, "An'an, you'll definitely look good in this dress too."

"Go try this one on."

An Ruo instinctively denied it: "I...I definitely can't."

"I……"
