Chapter 55

Chapter 55

A black minivan slowly pulled up at Long's convenience store.

As soon as Yang Lanling got out of the car, a young man pulled him away.

His expression softened, and he followed his younger brother without struggling.

Yu Lan helped the little boy out of the car, while Old Li went to retrieve the gift.

Yu Juan and a doctor invited by Officer Yang were standing to the side on Suzhou Road when Long Xingye led them into the store.

Yang Lanting pointed to the surrounding environment with great enthusiasm: "How about it, isn't the environment here nice?"

"Hmm, not bad."

"I've read the inspection report for Yangxidong, and it's excellent."

Upon hearing the report, Yang Lanting's eyes lit up, and he chuckled, "Could we have a copy of the report?"

Yang Lanling stared at him with his deep black eyes, his expression unchanged. "Speak, what do you want?"

Having faced his brother's expressionless face countless times since childhood, Yang Lanting was already immune to his brother's demeanor. He stared intently at the cold and mature man in front of him with bright eyes.

"Hehe, Mom has now completely given me free rein to cooperate with Linxi Cave's fresh produce. Wouldn't it be even better for publicity if there were reports?"

"no!"

The man refused outright.

The curly-haired boy was a little unhappy. "Why not? It's not like it has to be a secret."

"Keep it a secret!"

"Really?" Yang Lanting looked at Yang Lanling, whose face was serious and showed no sign of joking, and realized that this was true.

"Okay, okay, I don't want it anymore."

Knowing it was impossible, Yang Lanting abandoned the plan.

"Lanting, it's time to leave!"

After standing there for a while, Long Xingye, who had received Yun Qingzi's message, immediately called out to Yang Lanling.

"Let's go, let's go to Master Yun's place."

Linxi Temple is not far from here; you can get there by climbing a hill.

However, the road was not very wide, so the car couldn't go up and the group had to walk.

Old Li immediately carried his son on his back, asking, "Son, how are you? Does your head still hurt?"

Li Zixuan obediently let his father carry him, his little hands wrapped around his father's neck. Hearing his father's words, he seemed to remember something and said in surprise, "Daddy, my head doesn't hurt anymore!"

"This place is so comfortable~"

Yu Lan: "Baby doesn't hurt anymore!"

"Uh-huh."

Yu Juan walked along the side, took a breath of cool air, feeling refreshed and as if her lungs had been cleansed. Looking at the lush vegetation around her, she could feel a vibrant sense of life.

The wrinkles on Yu Lan's face had softened somewhat.

The grass along Suzhou Road looked freshly cut, and the aroma of fresh grass was very strong; it was a rare treat to smell this.

The group no longer crossed paths on the road, and their pace slowed down.

Linxi Temple

Yun Qingzi remodeled the training room, moving the scriptures and miscellaneous items to other rooms.

Lingxi used the jade fragments she had bought last time to set up a magic array on the ground to conceal the strange phenomenon.

Su Yuan stood to one side.

Watching the actions of the master and his two disciples.

Upon sensing someone's arrival, Yun Qingzi went out to make the handover.

Lingxi felt that she was too young and might cause unnecessary trouble, so she stayed in the training room with Suyuan to wait for the child to come in.

After turning a corner, we came upon Linxi Temple, a somewhat dilapidated but well-maintained structure.

Old Li, panting heavily, said, "I heard that many Taoist priests were very skilled at treating illnesses in the past, and it seems that's true."

"Dad, put me down, Zixuan is a bit heavy."

"It's not heavy. Dad will put you down when we get to the temple."

"Then I'll wipe your sweat."

As she spoke, she took a tissue out of her pocket, blinked her big eyes, and earnestly began wiping Old Li's sweat.

Old Li's eyes welled up with tears at his son's thoughtfulness.

He took a deep breath and said softly, "Okay."

To accommodate his son, Old Li slowed down and turned his head to the side to make it easier for him to move.

After wiping the trash, Li Zixuan didn't litter but put it in a bag to take it out later.

Yu Juan wiped away her tears. "This child is so sensible. Sister, you're all going to enjoy a good life from now on."

"Stop talking, let's go into the Taoist temple."

Both Yu Juan and Yu Lan were visiting for the first time.

Seeing this situation, they did not underestimate it, but instead became even more convinced.

Long Xingye and Yang Lanting entered the room familiarly and greeted Master Yun.

Yang Lanling stepped forward: "Daoist Yun, it's been a long time."

"May the Heavenly Venerable grant you boundless blessings; it is that child." Master Yun went straight to the point.

Yu Lan: "Yes, Daoist Master, he is my son."

She lifted Li Zixuan off Old Li's back and brought him to Yun Qingzi's side.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Several pairs of eyes were fixed on Yun Qingzi.

Yun Qingzi squatted down, glanced discreetly at the thing hanging around the child's neck, and then looked at the child who was looking at him with curiosity.

He smiled and said, "You little rascal, you're quite brave. Aren't you afraid?"

Li Zixuan does not reject Yun Qingzi.

He felt comfortable with the aura emanating from the person in front of him, and even though there was no expression on their face, he wasn't afraid.

“I’m not scared, and my mom, dad, aunt and uncle are here.”

The subtext is: You are just one person, while I have many, many people.

"Hahahaha..."

"You're quite an interesting child."

Yun Qingzi laughed heartily, “Please have a seat, everyone. The Taoist temple is simple, please forgive my poor hospitality.”

"No."

"Your very presence is so ethereal that even the smallest blade of grass seems to be imbued with divine grace. How can you say we haven't treated you well?" Suzhou Lu said, his words filled with praise.

Jin Moli then came out of the room.

Yun Qingzi asked, "Senior Sister, is Master ready?"

Jin Moli glanced at the people in the courtyard and nodded. "The child can go in now."

“However,” Jin Moli looked at the two strangers and guessed their identities, “the child’s parents should not go in; they should wait outside.”

Yu Lan and Lao Li, who were unaware of the situation, were a little confused when they saw Yun Qingzi dressed as a senior sister. This senior sister looked to be no more than thirteen or fourteen years old, while the Taoist priest looked to be almost forty.

We told them beforehand that we could ask them any questions when we got back.

The couple skipped over the matter, but were still worried about their child going in alone, fearing something might happen, so they asked Master Yun's master for help.

Yu Lan: "This... Master, why can't we go in to see a doctor?"

“Master said that this child is not a problem and can be cured today. Your presence here will only hinder Master’s work.”

Cured!!!

The couple froze on the spot.

I was still a little dazed.

After a while, Yu Lan asked, her lips trembling slightly, "Really, really?"

Jin Moli blinked her big eyes. "Of course, I'm not lying."

Old Li kept saying, "Okay, okay, we'll wait outside."

Jin Moli walked up to the little boy and asked curiously, "Do you dare to come with me?"

Li Zixuan glanced at his parents, rubbed his fingers together, and puffed out his chest, "I dare."

"Great, let's go."

"Zixuan, don't be afraid, be good!"

The little boy turned to look at his parents, nodded, and followed Jin Moli towards the practice room.

Yun Qingzi followed behind.

After watching the two go inside, he closed the wooden door of the training room and stood guard outside.

Long Xingye and Yang Lanting didn't leave. Instead, they went to the kitchen and brought back two small stools, where they sat down to wait for what happened.

Inside the training room

Li Zixuan stepped into the house with her small feet.

The wooden door behind him slammed shut, and the little boy couldn't help but tremble.

The lights in the room were dim.

Everything looked yellowish and dark.

It was darker than his basement.

However, there were two handsome older brothers and sisters standing in front of him. Under the dim light, the two of them emitted a faint white light, like gods in an animated film.

He felt like he had seen that older sister before; she seemed somewhat familiar. Li Zixuan clutched the hem of his clothes, but he couldn't remember her no matter how hard he tried.

He met his sister's gaze, and she smiled at him. Her smile was so warm that it made him relax instantly.

The older brother was standing behind the older sister; he was short, so his expression was not visible.

Soon, the pretty lady spoke up.

"Jasmine, take him to the center of the magic circle."

The older sister who brought her in took her little hand and led her to the middle of the small house.

He saw many lines drawn on the floor, densely packed, but he couldn't make out what they were.

My older sister came in too.

Jasmine stepped aside.

The older brother came over from behind. He smelled different from the older sister, but just as pleasant.

His hair was very long, and his eyes were actually green, but he was also very good-looking... no, Mom said he was handsome.

However, he looked a bit fierce.

Li Zixuan blinked and lowered her head to avoid meeting her brother's gaze.

The older brother's fingers were slender and long; his two knuckles held the Buddha amulet on his chest, but with a slight tug, the newly replaced red string broke easily.

"It's broken!"

Li Zixuan mustered up her courage, looked up, and wanted to argue with him.

But my brother didn't say a word, he just took it away by himself, and then...

What happened next?

How could he not remember!

Su Yuan took out the Buddhist amulet engraved with the character "Cang" and chuckled softly after sensing the strong aura emanating from the wooden amulet.

"It really is you!"

When Su Yuan's gaze pierced through the node at the center of the wooden plaque, all his previous guesses came true instantly. Without pausing, he directly extracted a wisp of his aura and placed it in his own space, waiting for it to activate later.

“Lingxi, this child has been marked by him. His weakness is simply because his life force has been exhausted.”

Lingxi was somewhat surprised: "This..."

"Strengthen the body and use its own natural resources to make up for those minor ailments."

Lingxi's heart skipped a beat, and she said in a trembling voice, "So, even if he is physically healthy, his life force will gradually fade away once it is exhausted and cannot be replenished."

"Until death..."

Su Yuan: "That's right, even his soul after death probably won't find peace."

"With his soul bound, he naturally cannot return to heaven and earth, and the imprisoned soul cannot find peace, thus generating yin energy. He then uses a spiritual treasure to convert spiritual energy for his cultivation."

That's ruthless!

Human life was as worthless as grass in his hands.

Lingxi: "You cultivators are truly ruthless!"

The two were talking in hushed tones. Jin Moli, who was bored, had just been daydreaming when she looked up and saw that the boy who had been standing there just moments before was now completely different, as if he had lost his soul.

"Hey, Master, watch out!"

The little boy's eyes were lifeless, and his hands and feet moved uncontrollably toward Su Yuan.

Su Yuan moved slightly, his eyes flashed, and the boy was immobilized on the spot, unable to move.

"Such a quick reaction."

"It seems we need to act quickly from now on."

Lingxi opened her spiritual eyes. At this moment, all the meridians and channels in the boy's body were firmly locked, and the source of the black line was the Buddhist amulet in Su Yuan's hand.

Oops!

It was more complicated than she had imagined.

"Tracing the Origin, a calming spell or an exorcism spell, either..."

The man gently shook his head.

"It's all useless."
