Chapter 66

Chapter 66

"Shh!"

Li Yuncheng covered Jin Li's mouth, signaling her to be quiet.

The streetlights above them were old and in disrepair. The two of them pressed themselves against the wall, hiding in the darkness, trying their best not to attract the attention of the group.

Near the corner ahead, on the dimly lit street, several tall, burly men spread out, covering their faces, and surrounded the woman. The woman was just an ordinary person and had never seen such a scene before. She could only wave her arms and legs in resistance, hoping that someone would come to save her.

However, the disparity in strength between the two sides was too great. In just a minute or two, the young woman was like a lamb to the slaughter, struggling in vain before her limbs were bound.

"Help! Waaah..."

"Slap! Slap!"

The woman's desperate shouts annoyed people, so they slapped her twice, the sound of which was loud in the street, clearly indicating that they used a lot of force.

Li Yuncheng buried the woman's head in his chest, preventing her from seeing.

Having already seen through the situation, Jin Li directly rejected the man's arrangement. In the darkness, she tiptoed and quietly whispered in Li Yuncheng's ear, "Is there really no way to save her?"

It's a pity.

Li Yuncheng assessed the situation on the other side: the enemy outnumbered him, and he had a pregnant wife in front of him. In a foreign country, he could not act rashly and risk getting into trouble.

Faced with his wife's expectations, he shook his head helplessly.

Jin Li was somewhat disappointed, but she couldn't drag the two of them into danger, so she could only stay there in silence.

Ahead, evil continues.

After two slaps, the woman's voice gradually faded into inaudibility. The leading man looked left and right, and seeing no one, he gestured, and the two men behind him immediately stepped forward, lifted the woman up, and walked towards the corner.

Jin Li and Li Yuncheng stood there for another five minutes before daring to approach, only after confirming there was no danger.

Jin Li clutched her stomach, her voice trembling: "Old Li, that girl is Chinese!"

Li Yuncheng held Jin Li's hands; although it was still the height of summer, her hands were ice-cold.

He was clearly terrified.

He immediately hugged his wife, repeatedly comforting her, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, your husband is here!"

Jin Li clutched her stomach, not caring about anything else, and urged, "Let's go, let's go call the police right away."

"good!"

The two took a taxi and rushed to the police station to report the incident.

The police asked them for their address and a brief description of the situation, then said they would handle it and let them go home.

Li Yuncheng observed the police officers taking their statements without making a sound, especially their nonchalant expressions upon hearing about kidnapping people on the street, and even the subconscious disdain they conveyed towards the people who reported the crime. This attitude made his expression even more unpleasant after he left the police station, rather than soften.

Jin Li turned her head: "What's wrong?"

Li Yuncheng smiled at Jin Li, "It's alright, let's hurry back to the hotel!"

"Buy a ticket tomorrow and hurry back home."

Jin Li didn't object; she was genuinely quite frightened today.

The two didn't walk back, fearing they might run into trouble again, and instead hailed a taxi.

They were only a few hundred meters from the hotel when the car broke down. The driver apologized, saying his car had broken down. Jin Li and Li Yuncheng in the back seat exchanged a helpless glance.

"My God, what's going on today!"

I have a feeling that this trip is going to be incredibly unlucky, and I'm bound to encounter all sorts of bad things.

Li Yuncheng smiled: "It's good that we're all safe and sound."

After getting off the car, Li Yuncheng took Jin Li's hand and walked a few steps. After crossing the night market, they arrived at the hotel.

After what had just happened, Jin Li and the other woman lost interest in strolling through the night market and were about to head back to the hotel.

Just as a tourist received a bowl of noodles and was paying, a street vendor appeared, shouting something, and dragged the woman aside without saying a word.

Who are you?!

"Ah! My noodles! You're going to keep me company... What are you going to do..."

"Let me go!"

The sudden tug caused the woman's noodles to spill all over the ground, and the soup almost splashed onto a passing tourist. Before she could figure out what was happening, the man pulling her spoke in a language she couldn't understand while forcefully dragging her to the side.

The shop owner who sold her food saw this and wanted to help her.

The vendor suddenly said something, and the shop owner's expression changed drastically, causing him to withdraw his outstretched foot.

The woman sensed something was wrong and panicked, struggling frantically with her hands and feet.

"Help!"

Unexpectedly, the man suddenly increased his strength, giving her no chance to resist, and violently pushed the woman aside.

Tourists who were drawn by the noise were about to walk over when the stall owner said something to them, and they stopped.

"Waaah..."

"What are you doing... help... sob sob..."

The surrounding area was bustling with people, and the sounds of hawking and laughter mingled together. The woman's shouts were drowned out by the noise and left no trace.

The two people who were about to walk forward quickly looked in one direction.

Li Yuncheng: "You heard that too!"

Jin Li nodded.

The two searched for a while and found some movement. The girl was about to be dragged away when she was about to be overpowered. Li Yuncheng quickly took two steps forward and walked quickly. Jin Li was clutching her stomach and was about to follow.

Unexpectedly, Li Yuncheng stopped and turned back, looking at her with disapproval.

"Go to the hotel and stay there. Don't step out of the hotel until I come back."

Jin Li frowned. "I'm worried about you going alone."

"Don't worry, there are fewer people this time, nothing will happen."

Time was of the essence, and if they delayed any longer, they would miss the opportunity. Jin Li had no choice; she couldn't risk the child they had worked so hard to obtain.

"All right."

"You...be careful."

"Go back and rest."

Li Yuncheng nodded, and after watching Jin Li walk towards the hotel, he immediately followed after her.

A few hours later

As the sky brightened with a soft white light, I watched as the sky began to glow.

There was still no man at the gate.

Having not slept all night, Jin Li clutched her stomach, which was starting to ache, and her sense of unease grew stronger.

"Ding-a-ling~ Ding-a-ling~"

Hearing a noise at the door, the woman immediately ran to open it, but the person outside was not Li Yuncheng, but the breakfast he had ordered for her.

She couldn't speak English, so she could only accept the plate with her hands to express her gratitude.

Before leaving, the staff member asked with concern, "Ma'am, you don't look well. Are you experiencing low blood sugar?"

Jin Moli was somewhat surprised: "You speak Chinese?"

"I know a little bit." There was a slight accent, but both parties could understand each other.

Hearing the familiar language, Jin Moli felt a glimmer of hope, but reason kept her from speaking. She cautiously inquired, "Do you know what some vendors at the night market sell that try to pull you aside?"

"You mean those itinerant vendors?"

Jin Moli said casually, "I'm so curious about what they're doing. They seem so mysterious."

The staff member was a woman, a few years younger than her.

She seemed to hesitate for a moment, then said solemnly, "Madam, it's best if you don't go to night markets or other crowded or sparsely populated places by yourself. And remember, don't come into contact with homeless vendors."

"Why"

The girl's words deepened Jin Moli's suspicions; even the locals were reluctant to discuss it, indicating that there was a powerful force behind it.

They can control everything.

The girl didn't continue speaking.

Jin Li: "Then I...I..."

She choked up, almost unable to speak, "My husband contacted that businessman and left with him, he hasn't come back yet, what am I going to do?"

How long have you been gone?

"It's been several hours."

The girl pursed her lips: "Ma'am, we suggest you go to the police station to report the case now."

Report it to the police!

The implied meaning in her words made Jin Li's already pale face turn even more bloodless, and her stomach started to cramp with pain.

"Madam, madam!"

Jin Li struggled to her feet, grabbed the girl's arms with both hands, and pleaded, "Can you help me and take me to the police station?"

"Please..."

"Oh, ma'am, you..."

The young staff member hesitated for a long time, but then, considering the poor woman was pregnant, she finally nodded.

"Okay, I'll help you..."

at the same time

Jin Moli walked in and said, "Master, Captain Yang is here."

Lingxi looked up, somewhat surprised, and quickly said, "Quickly, bring him in."

Outside the door, in Master Yun's hands, Yang Lanling, a novice who had just entered the path of cultivation by guiding spiritual energy into his body, stared in astonishment ahead. The vast spiritual mist dispersed, and the silhouette of a Chinese-style villa appeared behind layers of flowers, just a few steps away. Although the outside was lush and verdant, it lacked the vibrant life inside.

As if possessed, he stealthily reached forward with his hand, but his slender fingertips did not penetrate inside; instead, they touched a shield he could not see.

To the naked eye, various kinds of spiritual energy shimmered before his eyes.

So this is what a world brimming with spiritual energy looks like...

Such a place actually exists. The usually mature and reserved young man broke his cold demeanor and showed a hint of bewilderment.

"Bang!"

The sound of someone gently touching the iron gate could be heard.

The young man immediately composed himself, and a heavy look appeared between his brows as he recalled his purpose.

Jin Moli deliberately kicked the iron gate and shouted, "Brother Yang, Master is waiting for you inside."

After speaking, Jin Moli walked quickly forward.

Just as the lagging youth was about to ask how to get in, a colorful bubble fell from above, enveloping him completely before slowly rising into the air.

Accompanied by a gust of wind from who-knows-where, the bubble seemed weightless as it floated lightly into the aura shield.

Yang Lanling's body tensed up instinctively. This time, without the lash of the gale, he relaxed and quietly took in what he saw and heard. He walked a few steps forward and saw Jin Moli covering her mouth and laughing ahead. He smiled helplessly and asked, "Teacher Jin, where is the Spirit Consultant?"

"Come with me."

The two walked around two large pomelo trees, through a pavilion with grapevines, and over flower bushes into a hall filled with the aroma of tea.

The spiritual advisor on the sofa looked at the newcomer with a smile in his eyes.

Yang Lanling lowered his head subconsciously.

Time flies, and a few short months have passed. The woman's aura is even stronger than the last time I saw her.

Lingxi: "Lanling is here. Come, have some tea."

The situation was urgent. After sitting down, Yang Lanling took a small sip of his drink and then explained what had happened.

"That's the situation. The government has already intervened, but..."
