Chapter 31 Bamboo Shoots and Pork Stir-fried

"Ah? We still have to get a sickle?" The three children said in surprise. Why do they have to use their own sickles when they work for free?

"Yes, we don't have any extra sickles at home. Send one of you back to get some."

Erwa was afraid that if the three of them left together they would never come back, so he suggested that one person stay.

The last three decided to let Ergouzi stay, and the other two went home to get sickles.

Not long after, the two children came back.

Judging from their expressions, Xia Manni felt that she had been scolded by her parents at home.

Since everyone in the family knew about it and didn't come to stop it, it means they knew what kind of person their child was.

What Xia Manni didn't know was that the adults in these families were either elderly or afraid of Xia Manni's machete.

"You guys, use sickles to cut the grass beside me. You can't stop until I stop. Is there anyone who doesn't know how to do it?" Erwa probably felt like the boss by now, and gave orders to the three children.

"Brother Erwa, I don't know how." Sandan, who is one year younger than Erwa, raised his hand weakly and said.

"Then you go and help my younger brother and sister bundle the rice, and you give the sickle to my eldest brother." Sandaner obediently gave the sickle to Da Wa.

"Sandan, come and help us bundle the rice." Sanwa invited enthusiastically. Logically speaking, Sandan was one year older than him, but he certainly would not call the person who bullied his second brother "brother".

"Okay, let's get started." After saying that, Xia Manni started to cut the rice stubble that she had cut in the morning.

Erwa took Ergouzi with him to harvest a new batch of rice. The three of them worked hand in hand, showing their unyielding spirit.

Xia Manni turned around from time to time to look at the children working, and couldn't help but think that maybe the three children and Erwa would become good friends from now on.

She smiled, she herself had never suffered any loss since she was a child.

In third grade, she even dislocated the arm of a boy who pulled her hair.

So why should her child suffer?

With the addition of three children, their speed increased a lot. One adult and four children, a total of five sickles were waving up and down.

This is equivalent to three Xia Mannis working together, and the speed is much faster than before.

Even Si Ni'er and San Wa's speed in bundling and carrying rice has increased significantly.

By the time it was almost dark, half of the field had been harvested.

At this rate, with the help of the three children, all three fields will be harvested in three days.

The remaining work is to spread a large rag at the edge of the field and then beat the rice on it.

Anyone can do this job. There were seven children in total plus Xia Manni, and it only took them half an hour to thresh all the rice, that is, to shell the grains.

Xia Manni brought out the sacks she had sewn earlier. Only she and the eldest child could carry the sacks, while the rest of the children filled half the sacks and carried them in their backpacks.

It is definitely not possible to transport all the goods in one trip. It will probably take three or four trips.

When they returned to the Xia family after the first move, Xia Manni asked them to pour the rice grains directly onto the broken bags in the yard.

"Big boy, Mom and Sini'er have to stay and cook for you. We'll let Ergou and the other two have dinner at our house later."

When Ergou heard that there was still food to eat, but he also knew that the Xia family was having a hard time, he thought about refusing.

"What's the matter? My mother invites you to dinner and you still refuse? Just eat when I tell you to. Don't be so fussy." Erwa said, pulling Ergou's collar.

"Hey, hey, hey, I didn't say I don't want to eat. If you let me go, don't we still have to carry rice?" Ergouzi said aggrievedly.

"Er Wa, Er Gouzi is not allowed to fight again until he starts fighting. Now you are friends who have shaken hands and made peace, do you understand?"

Erwa curled his lips. Who would want to be friends with such a coward? But he didn't dare to refuse Xia Manni, so he said, "I know, Mom."

The eldest child left with the second, third and second dog. According to their speed, it would take at least another hour and a half to transport the goods.

This time is just enough for Xia Manni to cook.

"Mom, let me help you pick vegetables. What shall we cook today?" When there was only Si Ni'er and Xia Manni around, Si Ni'er would talk more.

"We have a lot of people today, so I'll make some delicious food for you so that they can work more for us." Xia Manni said to Si Ni'er with a smile.

She planned to make a stir-fried pork slices with dried bamboo shoots. Of course, she would only use twenty slices of meat at most, but she would have to cut about two pieces of dried bamboo shoots.

In addition, it has to be made saltier, otherwise these guys won’t have enough to eat.

In addition, she planned to stir-fry some wild vegetables with the oil residue, and finally make a wild vegetable and pheasant soup, and pair it with the pancakes left over from yesterday.

It looked like a very rich meal, but there were eight of them eating.

Only Sanwa and Sinier eat smaller amounts, and in her opinion, there is no difference between the other children.

As the saying goes, you should be grateful to those who feed you.

Although Ergouzi and the other two were working for Erwa on the surface because they lost to him, they were still feeling some resentment.

Their family is most short of labor right now, so why not take this opportunity to let the three children help their family willingly.

"Wow, it smells so good. Erwa, what delicious food did your mother make?" When the children came back, they smelled the aroma of meat and couldn't help but feel a little hungry.

"My mother's cooking skills are pretty good, you guys are in for a treat." Erwa lied with his eyes open. No matter when and where, his mother was the best mother in the world, even if the food she cooked was average.
