Chapter 267 Machine 6

Chapter 267 Machine 6

The factory is Kun's temporary resting place. Hidden programs are set up in every place. He put one arm in front of Ming Jianyue and adjusted the information on the panel with the other hand. Just when he was about to activate the self-destruct mode, Ming Jianyue held his hand.

Kun said anxiously, "We don't know what program Master has set inside it! If we let it go back to the Mechanical City like this, it might do something we can't imagine. With its current firepower, destroying the Mechanical City is no problem!"

Ming Jianyue glared at him: "Does it look like it's going to destroy the world?"

"Then he is..."

Ming Jianyue pushed Kun away and said loudly, "I'll go get Xingxing. We need to respect her wishes. This is her robot, after all."

When the word "stars" uttered, the robot slowly stopped, then slowly turned, its metallic eyes fixed on Ming Jianyue. Ming Jianyue sensed it had many questions to ask her, but she restrained herself. She wasn't sure what the robot was capable of at the moment. She thought it would be best if it were destroyed. If Jiang Chan needed a service robot, she could give her countless of them.

Ming Jianyue left quickly. Yinjia did not move forward but stood still. What appeared in his vision was a gradually disappearing black dot, which was submerged in the mechanical city with tall buildings.

Without Yin Jia around, the difficulties of life are the least worth mentioning aspect. The most serious thing is Jiang Chan's mental state. She has lived with Yin Jia since she was a child. It can be said that Yin Jia is her only salvation and hope after she became blind. She did not expect that Yin Jia's short departure would make her so uncomfortable.

She spent sleepless nights, waking to a bewildered darkness. No one whispered a gentle soothing word, let alone picked her up when she fell. She felt like she was abandoned on a lonely island, helplessly waiting for the stormy waves to overwhelm her. As the agreed deadline approached, Jiang Chan grew increasingly anxious. She feared she had trusted the wrong person, and even more so, she feared Yin Jia would never return.

It was not until he heard that Silver Armor was standing intact in the wilderness a hundred meters away that the burning anxiety gradually faded away.

The silver armor expanded, the silver metal gleaming with a cold, icy light, appearing incredibly solid. Atop it was a square head, its metallic eyes emitting a red glow. Two beams of red light locked onto her from a distance of a hundred meters. Jiang Chan felt as if she could sense that familiar gaze upon her, and with joy in her heart, she waved towards the distance, wondering if it had noticed her.

"Silver Armor!"

It must have spotted her and was moving slowly in the direction of the car. Of course, slow refers to the speed at which the robot moves when visually observed, but in reality, its steps are very large, equivalent to the speed of a person running quickly. In the blink of an eye, Yin Jia was in front of her. It was not Ming Jianyue who came to pick up Jiang Chan, but Aina from the repair shop. She stopped the car and whistled at Yin Jia: "How cool!"

Jiang Chan smiled at Aina, "Sister Aina, is he different from before?"

Silver Armor had already stopped beside the passenger seat, its solid metal structure imbued with an oppressive presence. Kun had equipped him with the finest equipment, made of materials used in combat robots. Unlike the smooth, white bodies of commercial service robots, Silver Armor resembled a well-equipped cold-weapon. His metal frame and limbs gave the illusion of being ready to crush and destroy at any moment.

Aina said: "Kun used the best equipment for it, you've made a profit!" Before she finished her words, she saw the red beam of light that had always surrounded Jiang Chan suddenly shine on her. Unlike the light that enveloped Jiang Chan, the red beam of light carried a cold warning... Warning?

Jiang Chan was unaware and was waiting for Aina to describe the changes in Yin Jia, but Aina did not say anything. She tilted her head and wanted to ask again, when Yin Jia's voice suddenly rang in her ears.

"Nice to meet you, young master." Yin Jia's voice remained unchanged, its familiar timbre. Jiang Chan felt slightly relieved. She smiled at Yin Jia and reached out to unbuckle her seatbelt. Before she could even reach the buckle, a metal arm reached across her face. "Click!" The seatbelt unbuckled, and Jiang Chan was lifted into Yin Jia's arms.

The reforged silver armor was now over two meters tall and much wider, after all, it needed to expand its firepower and power storage. Jiang Chan sat firmly on his arm, which was made of metal and resembled the hardness of human bones.

"Little Master, you can touch me."

Jiang Chan: "Yingjia, why do you say that?"

Shining Armor turned his head to the side, his metallic eyes locked on hers, his voice as gentle as ever: "This way, my young master can feel where Shining Armor has changed."

The silver armor remained the same, unchanged by the reboot. Jiang Chan leaned against his shoulder fondly, her forehead lowered, the familiar sound of a faint electric current in her ears.

Jiang Chan touched Yin Jia's arm, then his head. When she touched his metal eyes, she felt a warm sensation in her palm. His eyes radiated a warm light, a design that allowed Jiang Chan to feel that the robot was looking back at her when they met. It gave her a sense of security and satisfaction.

Jiang Chan's touch lingered on his head. "Yingjia, have you installed the solar panels?"

"Yes, young master."

Jiang Chan thought about what a robot with solar panels on its head would look like. It didn't seem very nice. She pursed her lips and didn't continue talking.

Silver Armor: "Young Master, you can touch other parts of Silver Armor."

Jiang Chan was silent for a moment, then said, "Yin Jia, you have changed."

Silver Armor's tone was a little doubtful: "Young Master, Silver Armor has not changed. Silver Armor is still your Silver Armor."

Kun observed the interaction between man and machine from afar, somewhat thankful he hadn't impulsively destroyed the robot. He and Jianyue had been little adults when Xingxing was born, so it could be said they'd taken care of her. Later, when something unexpected happened, they'd assumed she'd passed away. When they saw her again, she was blind. It was hard to imagine how she'd survived. If it weren't for the robot's companionship, they might never have seen Xingxing again.

He was grateful for the robot's company, but he was also afraid that the robot, which he couldn't even fathom, might hurt Jiang Chan. The live camera feed transmitted the image to Jianyue, and her voice came through the headset:

"It's very important to the Star. So far, no danger has been found. We'll observe it for a while. I believe even if Father has installed a hidden program in its core program, it won't harm the Star."

Kun said, "You're right." Just before the connection was severed, Kun's voice, slightly hoarse, said, "Don't forget our agreement."

Ming Jianyue's soft voice responded to him: "Wait for me."

Jiang Chan declined Aina's offer to take her home. In fact, she couldn't see that Aina subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief when she refused.

Aina didn't know why, but she always had a strange feeling. Whenever Jiang Chan's face turned towards her, Yin Jia's gaze would drift towards her. She thought she might be a little dizzy. After all, she had seen Jiang Chan and her robots many times before, and nothing so bizarre had ever happened.

She stepped on the accelerator and drove away quickly, preparing to go home and take some cold medicine.

Kun: "If there's anything wrong, contact me immediately."

Jiang Chan became nervous: "Does he have any other questions?"

Kun shook his head, thinking that she couldn't see, and continued, "No, it's my problem. When the system restarted, the hidden program set up inside it was activated. I'm not sure what kind of program it is, and I'm not sure if it will cause any danger..." Before Kun finished speaking, he saw Jiang Chan nervously grasping the robot's broad fingers: "Yingjia, will you hurt me?"

Silver Armor's eyes flashed red: "Silver Armor will never hurt the young master."

Kun hesitated and said, "It could be someone else..."

"Silver Armor, would you attack others?"

The one who responded to her was Silver Armor's gentle voice with a metallic tinge: "Silver Armor obeys all the orders of the young master."

Jiang Chan assured Kun, "Did you hear his answer? He's just a very ordinary household robot. His combat mode was modified to protect me. He poses no threat. Please don't report him, okay?"

Kun responded and raised his hand to touch her messy hair that was blown by the wind. Before he could reach her, he was blocked by the metal arm of Yin Jia. Yin Jia bent his elbow and completely wrapped Jiang Chan in his arms.

"My dear master, it's almost time for dinner. Do you want to eat?"

Jiang Chan waved towards Kun: "We are going home. Yin Jia, let's go home."

"Alright, young master." Silver Armor lifted Jiang Chan up, still letting her sit in his arms, and moved forward steadily, soon disappearing from Kun's sight. Kun grinned, rubbing his sore palm, thinking that the master must have programmed many, many commands to protect Jiang Chan in the robot... not even allowed to touch her!

The evening breeze was gentle, and the surroundings were wilderness. Jiang Chan took off her wig, and her loose hair instantly fluttered in the wind. This was the fresh air that was hard to breathe in the slums. Jiang Chan patted Yin Jia's shoulder, "Yin Jia, put me down."

Silver Armor did not obey immediately, but said: "My body has been completely transformed and can fully bear the weight of the young master."

Jiang Chan grinned: "I want to go by myself."

Shining Armor was silent for a moment, "Okay, young master."

Jiang Chan stepped on the tangled weeds, took a deep breath of fresh air, and jumped twice on the spot. "Silver Armor, is the road around here safe?"

“It’s surrounded by wasteland, and the road is flat and safe.”

Jiang Chan threw away her blind stick and Yin Jia took it in his hand. The robot's field of vision showed Jiang Chan running forward towards the setting sun, her pure black hair fluttering in the wind, her cuffs and trouser legs puffed up, and the twilight cast a dazzling golden glow on her pale cheeks. Yin Jia's internal program kept sounding the "beep beep" alarm. Yin Jia stared at Jiang Chan's figure closely and lowered the alarm to the lowest level until he walked near her and the alarm was lifted.

He was a robot. But the alarm sounded as Jiang Chan moved away from him, like a throbbing heart in a human chest. It made him want to hold onto this fleeting, false illusion. Just as Jiang Chan was about to step on a rock, he reached out and grabbed her.

"Stones detected on the road ahead..."

"Young Master, please stay in Silver Armor's arms."
