Chapter 268 Machine 7
Jiang Chan really likes staying in Yin Jia's arms. When Yin Jia first came to her, she was blind and felt inferior and disgusted with herself. She was unwilling to try walking with a cane, thinking that it was weird and that she was an anomaly.
Most of the children at the orphanage, due to their young age, could inadvertently say things that caused great harm to Jiang Chan. She spent days and nights clinging to Yin Jia's arms. Later, as she became familiar with Yin Jia's anatomy, she grew bolder, climbing from his arms to his head. Back then, Jiang Chan was so small and thin that she could easily crawl all over Yin Jia's body.
As he grew older, the parts of the silver armor aged, and Jiang Chan no longer dared to jump on him and increase his burden like she did when she was a child.
Although she couldn't see, Jiang Chan groped around for a while. The newly modified Yin Jia was even stronger than before, his arms thicker than her waist. Jiang Chan curiously felt around, while Yin Jia held her steadily and carried her forward.
Metal Eyes looked forward, but the person who appeared in his field of vision was Jiang Chan.
There was someone next to them just now, so even though Jiang Chan was curious about Yin Jia's appearance, she didn't dare to touch him. She felt that Yin Jia's arms had become harder and thicker, several times thicker than before, and she became even more curious about Yin Jia's height.
"Silver Armor, I want to go down."
"Yes, young master."
Jiang Chan stood on the ground and handed the cane to Yin Jia. She opened her arms and hugged Yin Jia, hugging him to his waist. Jiang Chan's eyes widened in shock. Yin Jia was so tall! Jiang Chan felt it carefully, confirming that it was at his waist. She said in surprise and disbelief, "Yin Jia, you're over two meters tall!"
Yin Jia said, "Young Master, data analysis shows that Yin Jia is two meters fifty-nine tall."
"Wow!"
With a crackling sound, the folded legs slowly straightened. Jiang Chan felt the silver armor rise, and the metal body in front of her escaped from her embrace. When the crackling sound died down, Jiang Chan reached forward and hugged his thigh. Jiang Chan patted it tentatively, and it was really a thigh. Jiang Chan let out another "wow" and tilted her head back. Although she couldn't see, the look on her face radiated a soft warmth.
"Yingjia, you can kill me with just one kick!" Jiang Chan exclaimed.
Yin Jia's bending movement froze for a moment, his neural processor analyzing Jiang Chan's words, and he looked confused and helpless. Those two round metal eyes seemed to be at a loss for words, their red light flickering slightly before finally fixing on her.
"My little master, you are very thin."
The tall robot lowered its head: "Silver Armor will always protect the young master."
Jiang Chan cupped Yin Jia's cheek and kissed him where she could reach him—near the metal neck—with a "pop" sound. She couldn't see Yin Jia's stiff, almost frozen movements, and said happily, "Let's go home!"
Silver Armor's internal program had long been messed up, and his eyes flickered with uncertainty. He replied, "Yes... yes... young master... Silver Armor... will take... take you home."
"Ginger Armor, are you malfunctioning?"
"Little... Master... Silver Armor doesn't have it."
The timing of her return was unfortunate. Although Jiang Chan had figured out the hangouts of some unemployed thugs, she was so happy that she forgot about it. Yin Jia had returned to a slightly more normal height. Even with his legs folded, he was still tall, but at least Jiang Chan wouldn't bump into his thighs if she turned her head.
Yin Jia told Jiang Chan that it was a system update and needed to adapt, not a malfunction. Jiang Chan believed Yin Jia's words and didn't ask him any more questions on the way. She quietly hooked her fingers with his. The blind stick made a clattering sound on the ground.
Then her arm was grabbed.
Jiang Chan didn't cry out. All sorts of things happened frequently on this street. She was used to such scenes, but she couldn't control the fear that instinctively overflowed, and her arm went numb from being held.
She turned her head slowly. It was a drunken man who lived on a meager subsidy from the royal family. His wife, unable to bear his abuse, had run away. He often went drunk and mad on this street. Sometimes when Jiang Chan woke up in the morning and her cane poked him, the unbearable curses followed her until she disappeared around the corner.
The stinky smell of alcohol hit the man's face, and he tried hard to open his squinting eyes: "Blind?" His grip became stronger and stronger, and his face came close to Jiang Chan: "You are actually a girl! You look a lot like my dead wife. I don't mind that you are blind. Spend your wedding night with me tonight, and I will support you in the future..." Jiang Chan swung the blind stick and hit the man hard.
The man didn't dodge. How much could a blind stick hit him? He grinned and let out a long, chaotic burp. Then his wrist was grabbed. The touch was strange, like solid iron, cold. The man opened his eyes and saw the robot blocking Jiang Chan's way. It turned out to be a robot! He had seen it before; it was just an ordinary household robot. If he married the blind man, the robot would be his!
With this in mind, he grinned even wider: "Let go, blind man, order it to let go, and from now on I will be your master! If you don't obey, I will throw you into the furnace factory!"
Jiang Chan was protected by silver armor behind her. She stood at the back with the help of a blind stick and heard the sound of the iron window opening.
It seemed like some people were watching the fun, and some were whistling at the homeless man, saying without hesitation: "The blind man's house is over 50 square meters, it's just right for one more person to live here!"
Hearing this, the homeless man was even more eager to move. However, the mechanical hand gripping his wrist gradually tightened. He seemed to hear the sound of bones snapping, and he suddenly felt a surge of anger at being defied! His body, hollowed out by the bad wine, suddenly erupted with a powerful force. He roared, "Let go!" and raised the bottle, smashing it hard against the silver armor.
The modified body didn't show any dents, and the homeless man even felt his arm go numb from the backlash. However, he stared in surprise as the seemingly tall and strong robot stumbled forward two steps and fell on top of Jiang Chan.
"Silver Armor!"
Silver Armor was very depressed: "My young master, Silver Armor failed to protect you."
Jiang Chan supported him: "Yin Jia, don't say that. Let's go home and ignore him. He's drunk and his words are rude."
Silver Armor's hard head rested on Jiang Chan's shoulder, and his limbs made a crackling sound. "Young Master, Silver Armor hurts."
Jiang Chan instantly became nervous: "Yingjia, where does it hurt? Do you feel any pain?"
Silver Armor's eyes flashed red: "Silver Armor failed to protect the young master. Silver Armor is very distressed."
"Shining Armor, don't say that. You're fine."
"He cursed you, he insulted you, but Shining Armor could do nothing."
A male voice, tinged with metallic tones, whispered softly in her ear. The sound seemed to carry a humming sound that shook her nerves. Jiang Chan considered herself a peaceful person. She didn't mind the homeless man's insults, but he hurt Yin Jia. What could she do? Waves of anger rose in her, and Jiang Chan's brow furrowed. Her voice was muffled, "Yin Jia, let's not cause trouble. Let's go home now."
Shining Armor said firmly, "Shining Armor wants to protect the young master."
"Ginger Armor, you did a great job."
“Not good enough.”
"Ginger Armor, you've really changed a lot. What do you want from me?"
Yin Jia remained silent.
Jiang Chan patted Yin Jia's arm comfortingly. At this moment, the sound of a wine bottle breaking suddenly exploded in his ears. It turned out that the homeless man saw that they ignored him, and in anger he picked up a wine bottle from the garbage dump and smashed it at Yin Jia.
The yellow wine splashed all over Yin Jia's body. Yin Jia raised his arm in time to block the flying debris. When Jiang Chan looked around blankly, there was still endless darkness. However, she seemed to hear the crackling sound of the circuits in Yin Jia's body due to being soaked in water. She panicked immediately and asked Yin Jia repeatedly if there was anything wrong.
Silver Armor: "Young Master, Silver Armor needs you to open the permission."
Jiang Chan asked doubtfully, "Yin Jia, are you okay? What are you talking about? What authority do you have?"
"Silver Armor is not malfunctioning. In order to better protect the young master, Silver Armor needs the young master to enable the authority to attack autonomously."
Without waiting for Jiang Chan to answer, Yin Jia scanned Jiang Chan's iris for authentication. The metal shell on his chest moved, revealing the screen inside. On the screen were square red letters: Do you want to enable autonomous attack permission?
Yin Jia read out loud at the same time: "Do you want to enable autonomous attack permission?"
Jiang Chan's fingers were lifted up, and Silver Armor's cold, mechanical voice echoed in her ears: "Young Master, Silver Armor wants to better protect you."
Inexplicably, Jiang Chan felt a sense of crisis looming around her. She blinked, her beautiful eyes at a loss, but she always listened to Yin Jia's words. She nodded, "Okay, I'll give you the authority."
Even though the metallic sound remained unchanged, Jiang Chan seemed to be able to feel the tremor of joy coming from it, "Thank you, young master."
Yin Jia took her hand and pressed "Yes" on the screen with his fingerprint-authenticated finger. The screen began loading data. With a beeping sound, Yin Jia took two slow steps, stomping on the ground with a clacking sound. The broken bottle was crushed into powder again.
Jiang Chan had a bad feeling: "Yingjia, what are you going to do?"
Yin Jia stopped, touched Jiang Chan's shoulder with his mechanical hand, lowered his head and asked, "Young Master, what do you want Yin Jia to do?"
Jiang Chan thought for a moment: "Don't make too much noise, or someone will find out."
"Okay, little master."
Jiang Chan retreated to a corner, leaning on her cane, staring blankly at Yin Jia's position. Unable to see, she naturally didn't notice the light from Yin Jia's eyes turn a scorching blue-purple, like a leaping flame suddenly piercing the eyes of the person leaning out of the window. With a cry of surprise and pain, the light turned and locked onto the homeless man.
The same screams.
The homeless man covered his bleeding eyes and tried to open them wide, but found his vision blurred and accompanied by a burning pain. He was about to shout out, but something was stuffed in his mouth and he could only make a whimpering sound.
He, he, had once insultingly called them blind, blind, and now they too were blind. A thick, silver-armored mechanical foot landed on the ground, sending tremors one after another. "Woo!" The homeless man lay dazed, as if feeling something leaving his body. He looked over, only to see darkness. When he finally realized, his right hand had been neatly severed.
Yin Jia returned to Jiang Chan's side, a soft light flashing in his eyes, "Young Master, let's go home."
"Ginger Armor, what have you done?"
"The problem has been solved."
"Um?"
Yin Jia picked up Jiang Chan and said, "Young master, dinner time has passed for a long time. Are you hungry?" He stepped over the blood on the ground. His voice was mechanical and cold, but when he looked at Jiang Chan, a few strange red lights suddenly flashed in his eyes.
