Chapter 34 I guess I was busy trying to appease the boss last night
When Chen Lai came out of the bathroom, she saw Pei Jingyan sitting on the balcony, eating the dinner she had packed.
The breeze ruffled his hair in front of his forehead, revealing his strong profile. His collarbone was faintly visible under his smoothly contoured neck. Although he was wearing a loose bathrobe, his every move revealed a sense of elegance and laziness.
Hearing footsteps stopping beside him, Pei Jingyan stopped what he was doing and looked up to see Shen Lai standing in front of him.
Shen Lai's expression was complicated, and he seemed to be hesitant to speak.
Pei Jingyan raised his eyebrows and put down his chopsticks, "What's wrong?"
Shen Lai pursed his lips and placed the note he had just seen in the bathroom in front of Pei Jingyan, "You changed the note, didn't you?"
Following Chen Lai's gaze, Pei Jingyan saw the note in front of him and his eyebrows twitched.
Seeing Shen Lai staring at him, Pei Jingyan leaned back in the chair and spoke casually, "It's me."
Shen Lai bit his lower lip.

Chen Lai didn't ask any more questions. She looked down at the dinner in front of Pei Jingyan. He had eaten it all, without even a grain of rice left.
Shen Lai was stunned for a moment and looked at Pei Jingyan, "Are you so hungry?"
Pei Jingyan wiped the corner of his mouth elegantly with a tissue, "I just don't want to waste food."
Why didn’t Chen Lai realize before that Pei Jingyan valued food so much?
But this at least shows that Pei Jingyan should like the dishes she brought back, right?
After dinner, the two went to bed to rest. With the lesson learned last night, Shen Lai deliberately took two pillows to block the two of them.
This way she won’t crawl into Pei Jingyan’s arms again in the middle of the night, right?
After taking protective measures, Shen Lai wrapped himself in the quilt and closed his eyes to sleep.
Pei Jingyan looked at the obstacle between the two of them, put his tongue against his canine teeth and sneered, not knowing what he was thinking.

Pei Jingyan sat up and leaned against the headboard of the bed. As he moved, the quilt slid down to his waist, and his messed bathrobe revealed his sexy mermaid line.
The hair scattered across his forehead reduced his sharpness and indifference, making him look less distant. He said slowly, "Someone was restless in his sleep and snuck into my arms in the middle of the night. Now you're questioning me?"
Shen Lai's cheeks were hot, "Impossible, I blocked it with a pillow."
Pei Jingyan raised his eyebrows and looked somewhere, "Are you talking about those two poor guys you kicked under the bed?"
Shen Lai looked in the direction he was pointing and saw two pillows lying alone on the ground.
It was obvious that he was kicked down.
Shen Lai choked. Although she had the habit of holding things, she was quite quiet when she slept. How could she not take the initiative to snuggle into Pei Jingyan's arms for two consecutive nights?
Shen Lai couldn't help but become suspicious. She looked at Pei Jingyan with half belief and half doubt, "Could it be that you secretly hugged me and are now accusing me?"
Pei Jingyan seemed to have heard a joke, "Why should I hug you? Could it be that I like you?"
Although this reason was ridiculous, Shen Lai didn't think she would dive into Pei Jingyan's arms, since she clearly hated him so much.

Pei Jingyan's eyes flashed with a dark glint. He pulled up the corners of his mouth coldly and said with a forced smile, "This is best."
She didn't know if it was Shen Lai's illusion, but she always felt that Pei Jingyan was in a bad mood. However, she didn't think too much about it. Pei Jingyan hoped that the two of them would not have anything to do with each other, so how could he be unhappy?
When the two came downstairs, the other guests had already woken up. They were the last couple to come down, and naturally attracted everyone's attention.
