Chapter 93 Looking for a Woman Outside
Shen Lai paused for a moment.
Wu Qi also noticed the person opposite Pei Jingyan and asked in confusion, "Who is that person?"
Shen Lai swallowed and said in a stiff voice, "Maybe he's a friend."
Wu Qi heard something strange in her words and turned to look at Shen Lai, "You don't know him?"
Shen Lai forced a smile and said, "I don't know all of his friends. They might be business partners."
Wu Qi glanced at the woman opposite Pei Jingyan and couldn't help but remind her, "You'd better be careful when your business partner is so beautiful."
Shen Lai thought, what qualifications did she have to interfere in Pei Jingyan's love life? They were just husband and wife in name only. Even if Pei Jingyan was looking for a woman outside, that was normal.
Shen Lai laughed at herself, quickly calming herself down and saying to Wu Qi, "Don't you want to go shopping for clothes? Let's go."
Wu Qi blinked and asked, "Why don't you go over and say hello?"

It was almost ten o'clock when she returned to the villa. Shen Lai returned to the room carrying large and small bags. She collapsed on the soft big bed, as if all her strength had been drained away.
She stared blankly at the ceiling, the image of Pei Jingyan smiling at that woman constantly appearing in her mind.
They had known each other for so long, but she had never seen Pei Jingyan smile so happily at anyone.
Shen Lai felt a sour feeling somewhere in her heart, and she didn't know what she was unhappy about.
It's obvious that they are just a fake couple.
What's more, it would be great if Pei Jingyan really had someone he liked. In that case, they could break up quickly.
Just then, there was a voice coming from downstairs. It was Pei Jingyan who came back.
Shen Lai's heart tightened slightly. She lay on the bed without moving, listening quietly to the noise outside.
Soon, footsteps came up the stairs, the sound of shoes stepping on the floor.
As the sound got closer, it finally reached the next door.
Just when Shen Lai thought Pei Jingyan would go straight back to his room, the next second, footsteps sounded again and came to the door.
There was a knock on the door, and Pei Jingyan's magnetic voice came from outside, "Are you asleep?"
Chen Lai looked at the dark shadow under the crack of the door. She hesitated for a few seconds, and finally got up and opened the door for Pei Jingyan.
As the door opened, Pei Jingyan stood outside in a suit and tie. He was wearing the same suit that Chen Lai had seen in the restaurant, and there was a faint scent of incense on his body.
I guess I got it while having dinner with that woman.
Pei Jingyan casually unbuttoned his sleeves and asked, "I heard from Butler Sun that you went out today?"
Shen Lai hummed vaguely, "Wu Qi asked me to go shopping."
Pei Jingyan didn't doubt it, "Where did you go shopping?"
Shen Lai couldn't say that it was the mall where you met that beautiful woman. She lowered her eyes and stared at her feet, and said vaguely: "I just took a walk nearby."
Pei Jingyan didn't ask any more questions. "I heard from the nutritionist that you didn't eat much tonight. Is it because the food didn't suit your taste?"
Shen Lai didn't expect that the other party would report such a small matter to Pei Jingyan. She perfunctorily passed it off, "I just have no appetite. It has nothing to do with the food."
Seeing that Shen Lai looked a little unhappy, Pei Jingyan subconsciously reached out and was about to touch her forehead.

Outside the door, Pei Jingyan stood in the corridor for a long time. The light stretched his shadow very long, making his backlit eyes flicker.
After a while, he returned to the room, took out his phone and sent a message to his assistant: "Help me get Wu Qi's number."
The assistant acted quickly and sent Wu Qi's number in less than fifteen minutes.
When Wu Qi received Pei Jingyan's call, she was a little surprised, "Mr. Pei? Why are you calling me suddenly?"
Pei Jingyan said in a low voice, "I heard that you went shopping with Shen Lai today?"
"Yeah." Wu Qi asked doubtfully, "What's wrong?"
Pei Jingyan's tone was emotionless. "Did someone bully her?"
Wu Qi paused, "Bullying? No, we just went shopping and then went home."
Pei Jingyan narrowed his eyes slightly.
Then why is Shen Lai acting so abnormal today?
"What's wrong? Mr. Pei, did something happen to Chen Lai?" Wu Qi asked curiously on the other end of the phone.
Pei Jingyan said in a cold voice, "It's okay, I just asked casually."
Before Wu Qi could say anything, the call was hung up.
Wu Qi was confused. Just as he was about to put his phone down, he suddenly seemed to remember something and slapped his head.
She forgot to tell Pei Jingyan that she met him in the mall restaurant tonight.
But this is just a small matter, and Pei Jingyan asked whether Shen Lai was bullied, which probably has nothing to do with this matter. Wu Qi didn't think too much about it and continued to do his own thing.
When Shen Lai woke up again, it was already morning.
Yawning and rubbing her eyes, she walked out of the room and into the kitchen, where she saw a familiar figure sitting at the dining table.
Shen Lai paused slightly. Pei Jingyan had already noticed her. "Are you up?"
Shen Lai couldn't help but think of what happened last night, his expression a little embarrassed, "Yeah."
Pei Jingyan acted as if nothing had happened, "Come and have breakfast, the nutritionist has prepared it for you."
Chen Lai murmured "oh" softly, and walked slowly to sit opposite Pei Jingyan.
The atmosphere at the table was a little quiet. Only the sound of knives and forks clashing could be heard. No one spoke for a while.
Pei Jingyan suddenly broke the silence, "What happened to you last night?"
Shen Lai paused, she looked up at Pei Jingyan, Pei Jingyan was also looking at her, waiting for her answer.
After a night, Shen Lai felt much better. She said calmly, "It's okay. Maybe I was a little tired from shopping yesterday."
Pei Jingyan observed Chen Lai's expression. He looked no different from usual and didn't look like anything was wrong.
Just then, Pei Jingyan's cell phone suddenly rang.
Shen Lai looked over subconsciously. From this angle, she could just see the caller ID flashing on the screen: Xingyu.
