Chapter 98: Clinging to Marry Him
The cafe was dimly lit and gentle music flowed in the quiet space.
Shen Lai looked at Yi Xingyu in front of him and said calmly: "Miss Yi, what do you want to talk to me about?"
Yi Xingyu stirred the coffee in front of her and said slowly, "I heard that you and Jing Yan used to be sworn enemies."
Chen Lai raised his eyebrows, said nothing, and waited for Yi Xingyu to continue.
It is well known that she and Pei Jingyan are sworn enemies. Just ask anyone in the circle and you will know. There is nothing surprising about it.
Yi Xingyu smiled slightly, "I'm quite curious, since you two don't get along so well, how did you end up together?"
Shen Lai picked up the coffee and took a sip, "I don't think there's any need for me to confess to Miss Yi."
Yi Xingyu was silent for a moment. "As far as I know, you and Jing Yan got married because of pregnancy, right?"

Shen Lai raised his eyes and looked at Yi Xingyu, "So, what do you want to say?"
Yi Xingyu stared into Chen Lai's eyes, "So Jing Yan's feelings for you aren't that deep, right?"
Shen Lai's expression didn't change at all.
Yi Xingyu was right. The two got married in the first place because she was pregnant.
Strictly speaking, it should be a matter of each taking what they need.
Pei Jingyan depends on her to get the position of heir, she depends on Pei Jingyan to climb up in the entertainment industry, and to let her mother get better treatment.
Shen Lai slowly put down the coffee cup in his hand, his face calm, "Miss Yi, if you have something to say, why not be direct? Why are you beating around the bush here?"
She didn't think that Yi Xingyu came to her just to find out the gossip about her and Pei Jingyan.
Yi Xingyu looked her straight in the eyes and said straight to the point, "You should be able to tell that I'm interested in Jing Yan, right?"
Shen Lai nodded, "I see."
She was not stupid. She noticed that Yi Xingyu had a special attitude towards Pei Jingyan during breakfast that day.
Otherwise, a normal person would avoid being with a married man, but Yi Xingyu seemed to be completely unaware of this.
But she was not sure at that time, but now it is finally clear.

Shen Lai interrupted her, "How do you know it was me who pestered him?"
Yi Xingyu's body stiffened.
Shen Lai raised an eyebrow, "It was Pei Jingyan who took the initiative to ask me to marry him, but I didn't pester him to marry me."
What she said was not wrong. It was indeed Pei Jingyan who took the initiative to propose to her.
Otherwise she would have aborted the baby long ago.
After hearing the second half of Shen Lai's words, Yi Xingyu suddenly clenched the handle of the coffee cup.
Pei Jingyan took the initiative to marry Chen Lai?
How is that possible?
Shen Lai continued, "And do you think he is someone who can be easily threatened? Who can force him to do something he doesn't want to do?"
Yi Xingyu didn't say anything, and her fingertips turned white from gripping the coffee cup so tightly.
Shen Lai glanced at it calmly and smiled softly, "But I'm curious about something."
Seeing Yi Xingyu looking up at her, Shen Lai raised his eyebrows and said, "Since you are so confident in yourself and feel that your feelings for Pei Jingyan are different from others because you spend every day with her, then why don't you confess to Pei Jingyan directly, but come to me instead?"
Yi Xingyu's breathing became disordered, and Shen Lai lightly stabbed her: "This shows that you are not confident that Pei Jingyan will accept you, right? Otherwise, you would not come to me to demonstrate."

Chen Lai has always been on the side of "if you don't let me live well, I won't let you live well either." Yi Xingyu wanted her to divorce, but she refused to do so.
Why should she help both of them?
Yi Xingyu's chest rose and fell slightly. She had always thought that Shen Lai was a brainless, busty, bankrupt girl, but she didn't expect that she had underestimated her.
Shen Lai stood up and said, "Thank you Miss Yi for the coffee. It tastes good. I'll be leaving now."
She nodded politely to Yi Xingyu and left the cafe with her bag.
Yi Xingyu looked at her departing back, her breathing becoming heavier. The next second, she suddenly dropped the coffee cup to the ground as if out of control. The scalding liquid splashed on her skin, but she seemed to feel nothing.
It was almost dawn when Shen Lai returned to the villa.
As soon as she walked into the living room, she saw Pei Jingyan sitting on the sofa with a laptop on his legs, looking like he was working.
"Are you back?"
Pei Jingyan heard familiar footsteps and looked up at Shen Lai.
As soon as he saw Pei Jingyan, Shen Lai couldn't help but think of the bad peach blossoms he had attracted, and his tone became a little colder, "Yeah."
Pei Jingyan glanced at his watch. "Why are you so late today? Didn't your agent say you had finished filming your commercial a long time ago?"
Shen Lai didn't look at him, he lowered his head to take off his shoes, "Something happened."
Maybe it was because she was so cold today, even Pei Jingyan felt something was wrong and glanced at her. "What's wrong? Who provoked you?"
Shen Lai thought, who else could it be but you?
She said coldly, "No one, I'm going to take a shower first."
Just as she passed by Pei Jingyan, her wrist was grabbed. Pei Jingyan stared at her with a deep gaze, "What happened? Did someone bully you at the filming location?"
Shen Lai took a deep breath, looked up at Pei Jingyan, and said unhappily, "It's all because of you who caused this bad peach blossom."
Pei Jingyan frowned, but before he could realize what he meant, Shen Lai broke free from his hand and went upstairs.
Just then, the cell phone in Pei Jingyan's pocket rang. It was a message from Yi Xingyu.
"Jing Yan, I'm at the Sunrise Bar right now, can you come over?"
