Li Qiuxiang felt like she was about to explode, but she still managed to maintain a sliver of rationality. She picked up the child and said, "I'm taking the child to my grandmother. If you're still here with me before I come back, don't blame me for not showing you any mercy." As she spoke, she walked forward, completely ignoring what Wang Dong was saying.
After everyone left, Wang Dong stared intently at Wang Fang, while Wang Hong was also crying uncontrollably. Wang Fang, with tears welling in her eyes, said, "Why are you staring at me? I didn't do anything wrong. Is your house some kind of palace or royal mansion? I can't just walk in!"
Wang Hong tugged at Wang Fang, "Sister, say less! Brother, what are we going to do?!" Wang Dong also wanted to beat himself up; he shouldn't have softened his heart and brought Wang Fang back. He said angrily, "Wang Fang, you better leave now!"
"Brother, are you kicking me out on the first day of the Lunar New Year? Do you know I have nowhere to go? My ribs are broken, how can you be so heartless?" Wang Fang cried so hard she could barely breathe, feeling that her life was miserable, that her own mother didn't want her, and that her brother and sister didn't care about her either.
Wang Dong roared, "Get the hell out of here! Get far away from me! You jinx, you bring trouble wherever you go!" He then stepped forward to pull Wang Fang away, but Wang Fang screamed in agony. Wang Hong cried out helplessly, "Brother, brother! Don't do this, my sister's ribs are broken."
Wang Dong roared, "She begged and pleaded for this! What are you raising her for? Even if you raise her well, she'll still go with that beast. A leopard can't change its spots!" Wang Fang was in so much pain she was covered in sweat and had lost consciousness. Wang Dong suppressed the urge to punch her and shouted, "Stop playing dead! Get up!"
Wang Hong squatted down and looked, then said tremblingly, "Brother, something's wrong with my sister, look..."
"I don't want to see anything, tell him to get lost!" At this moment, neighbors came out one after another, and some of them said to Wang Fang, "Wang Dong, your sister seems to be acting strange, you should take her to the hospital quickly!"
Wang Dong wanted to kick her to death, but he restrained himself and eventually found a cart to take her to the hospital. Good heavens, her broken bone hadn't healed, and she'd developed pneumonia. Wang Dong grew increasingly furious and went to Zhao Yunxiang's place, only to find that the bastard had gone home for the New Year. His own home had been turned upside down by Zhao Yunxiang; how dare this scoundrel go home for the New Year?
He went straight to Zhao Yunxiang's father's house, stood outside and started cursing, "You son of a bitch Zhao Yunxiang, get out here! All you do is beat your wife, then dump her to her family, and then take her back to beat her again after she's healed. Are you sick? I'm not here to raise your wife."
Zhao Yunxiang and Zhang Aihua came out with gloomy faces. "My son has always looked down on that good-for-nothing son of yours who insists on marrying you. You can't get rid of him no matter what you do. Can you please persuade him to leave my Yunxiang?"
Wang Dong angrily cursed, "Fuck your mother..." This one sentence instantly ignited Zhao Yunxiang's anger, and the two started fighting. Zhang Aihua was also furious, so she went back to get a stick and joined the battle, with the mother and son fighting against Wang Dong.
They fought and cursed each other, and the battle was so fierce that neighbors came out to watch the spectacle. But was Zhang Aihua afraid of losing face? Before, she had to consider her reputation because Old Zhao was still in power, but now, even if Li Qiuxiang came, she wouldn't be afraid.
While hitting and cursing, she said, "That old hag from their family brought along a little hag who's been using seductive tricks to seduce my son since she was little. Our family doesn't acknowledge her, so they forced my son to steal our household registration book and marry her. Tell me, are there still women these days who are afraid of not being able to get married? Just because we don't acknowledge her, I even abandoned my son. We beat him away once, but he came back like a shameless dog, refusing to leave even if it kills him. Bah! You have the nerve to come to our family, but why don't you have the nerve to control your own sister!"
In the end, Old Zhao couldn't stand it anymore. He came down and stopped Wang Dong, not even glancing at him, and said, "We don't approve of your family's marriage. The two of you can't live together. It's better to part amicably. Tell your sister to stop bothering my son."
Wang Dong gained nothing from this trip except being ridiculed and beaten, which made him furious. When he returned, he found that all of Wang Hong's belongings had been thrown out and all the doors were locked.
His heart tightened. Li Qiuxiang was serious! In the years of their marriage, they had argued and fought, but Li Qiuxiang had never allowed him to leave home. And now she was actually kicking him out? Suddenly, he remembered that this was his last resort. If Li Qiuxiang really did kick him out, he would be back to his old, wandering life.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he rushed to Grandpa Li's house. He saw that everyone had already turned off the lights and gone to sleep, so he didn't dare to disturb them. He had lived for almost thirty years and this was the first time he had felt homeless. He packed his things, pried open the lock of the side room, and slept there fully clothed for the night.
The next day, early in the morning, he got up and knelt at the door of Li Qiuxiang's grandfather's house without saying a word. It wasn't until Li's grandmother got up to cook that she saw him and sighed, "What a tragedy!" She led him to the side room and boiled a large bowl of brown sugar ginger water. When she handed it to Wang Dong, he saw that Wang Dong had tears in his eyes and asked, "What's going on with you guys?"
With tears in his eyes, Wang Dong told Grandma Li what had happened. Grandma Li sighed, not knowing how to comfort him, and said to Wang Dong, "Qiu Xiang isn't home either. She went to work for your grandfather yesterday. I'll light the stove, you should get some sleep first!"
Wang Dong ate a bowl of dumplings and took a nap in the warm house. Poor Wang Hong, when she went back to cook, found the whole house locked except for the side room, where she saw only her and her brother's luggage and panicked.
Qi Zhifang completely ignored the chaos on the ground. She remained silent when Wang Hong came to her for help, only saying, "I don't recognize her, and I don't recognize you either. From now on, we'll go our separate ways! Anyway, you're all heartless people. I won't be able to count on you when I'm old."
Wang Hong was completely heartbroken by Qi Zhifang and never wanted to acknowledge her or see him again. When she returned to the hospital, Wang Fang was somewhat dissatisfied to see Wang Hong's empty hands. "Honghong, what happened to you? You've been back for so long and you still haven't cooked dinner?"
