After getting a meal at Zhao Aiguo's place, Wei Dani took Jiang Yue to the hospital. Seeing that her mother had regained consciousness, tears welled up in her eyes. As soon as her mother saw her come in, she said anxiously, "You child! How heavy are you? Why are you wandering around like this? What will we say to Jiang Zhen if something happens to you!"
Wei Dani sat down and said, choking back tears, "Grandma! I'm so sorry that you've had to be hospitalized twice because of my sister!"
Mother Wei shook her head and said, "I'm old and useless! I used to be able to scold Old Madam Qi without breaking a sweat, but now I collapse as soon as I get angry! You too, you're married now, so worry less about things at home! Put the Jiang family first, do you hear me?"
Wei Dani lay on the bed and muttered, "Marriage is no good at all."
"What nonsense are you spouting! You're so arrogant! You're so young, your husband has a job, a promising future, your own house, a job where you're sheltered from the wind and rain, and your child is obedient and well-behaved. What more could you want? Do you have to learn from your aunt and suffer a loss before you can settle down and live a good life?" Mother Wei's face darkened. Wei Dani nodded and took the child home. When she got home, she saw Jiang Zhen sitting in the main room with a gloomy face. Wei Dani said ingratiatingly, "Brother Zhen, you're back early today!"
Jiang Zhen just stared at Wei Dani without saying a word. Jiang Yue went over and threw herself into Jiang Zhen's arms, saying, "Daddy, I'm so sleepy!"
Jiang Zhen forced a smile and said, "Okay, Daddy will put you to sleep!" He picked up the child and rocked her in his arms. Jiang Yue fell asleep in less than ten minutes, and then he put her in the room.
After coming out, he went to the kitchen. In fact, no one knew that he was not only angry, but also very scared. His wife, who was almost nine months pregnant, had disappeared with the baby. What if something happened to her?

Could you help me keep her position so that my mother can go back home after I finish my postpartum confinement?"
Jiang Zhen sneered, "You think I own this canteen? So many educated youth have returned to the city and are unemployed; every job is fiercely contested. You think you can just keep me here like that?"
Wei Dani was taken aback. She opened her mouth, sighed, and said, "What should we do? I'm afraid something will happen if Erni keeps doing this!"
Jiang Zhen turned to look at Wei Dani. "Dani, remember this: I won't get involved in this! Chi Zi is my childhood friend. His dad helped me get into the factory, and now he's the deputy director of the purchasing department! You've made me lose face with him, and now you want me to clean up the mess? Have you thought about what I'll do? Don't be so selfish! Wei Erni should have thought about what she would face if she could go back on her word like that!"
After saying that, Wei Dani turned around to cook, her eyes brimming with tears. She had thought it would be a simple matter, but she hadn't expected Jiang Zhen to be so unreasonable. She angrily lay down, and Jiang Zhen didn't indulge her. He ate his own meal and then went to the bedroom, whispering, "The food's in the pot. Go eat if you're hungry!"
After saying that, she went to another room. The next day, after Jiang Zhen left for work, Wei Dani entrusted Jiang Yue to a neighbor for help and went to the machinery factory to find Wei Shuqing. Wei Shuqing quickly led her to the reception room and asked, "Dani, what brings you here?"
Wei Dani tearfully recounted Zhao Aiguo's suggestion, then said, "Auntie, I went back and mentioned it to Jiang Zhen, asking him to keep the job for me, or even give it to my mother, but he didn't care."
Wei Shuqing was unaware of Xiao Chi's relationship. After thinking for a moment, she had no idea what to do and said, "Don't cry. Just wait here. I'll go ask your uncle!"
She walked out and called Zhao Dahu out of the cafeteria. The two of them found a secluded spot outside, and Wei Shuqing explained what had happened.
Zhao Dahu frowned and said, "Shuqing, if Dad hadn't retired, this matter would be easy to handle. We would have taken care of it for you without you having to ask. But now we can't handle this matter!"
Jiang Zhen introduced Erni to Xiao Chi, whose father was the deputy director of the purchasing department. Although he was only a deputy director, he had the final say in the purchasing department, while the director was chronically ill. Old Chi still had a certain amount of influence in the food factory.
