Zhao Dahu quickly helped his mother into the house, saying, "Let's talk inside!" After they entered the house, they all urged him to speak quickly. Zhao Dahu sighed, "Let's get this straight, Aiguo got a little injured..." "What..." "What..." "How did you get injured? Tell me quickly! You're making me so anxious."
Zhao Dahu quickly said, "On his way back, he encountered a mentally ill person who was assaulting someone. He got injured protecting a woman. His workplace will find out about this tomorrow, and he'll be commended. Don't worry! He wasn't really hurt; he just didn't want to go to work, which is why he was hospitalized!"
Before Zhao's parents could even finish speaking, they started getting dressed and heading out. Wei Shuqing also tried to rush out, but Zhao Dahu quickly stopped them, saying, "If you go now, Aiguo will be asleep. Go see him tomorrow!"
Wiping away her tears, Wei Shuqing said, "Mom and Dad, you're getting old. You should rest first. We'll go see Aiguo tomorrow. I'll go see him!"
With a serious expression, Zhao's father said, "Your mother and I aren't old and unable to move yet, but our grandson is in the hospital. How can we rest in peace?" Zhao's mother didn't say a word and ran out. The father and son each took their wives and rushed to the hospital.
When they arrived, they found Zhao Aiguo lying there soundly asleep. The three of them were more attentive than Zhao Dahu, checking the bandages thoroughly. Didn't I tell Dad I'm fine?"
After examining the person, Zhao's mother, with reddened eyes, asked, "How is it? Let Grandma see where you're hurt?"
Zhao Aiguo raised his right arm and said, "That's it! I'm really fine, please don't do this."
The three examinations were incredibly thorough; they checked everything except the private parts before confirming that everything was fine. Luckily, there was a bed next door, and the elderly couple insisted on staying to keep them company. Zhao Aiguo tried to dissuade them, saying, "I don't want to eat in the cafeteria tomorrow morning! I want to eat something good."
Mr. Zhao thought it made sense, so he went back to cook. Then Mrs. Zhao pulled him aside, saying she needed to prepare something. Then the three of them left.
Zhao Aiguo accompanied his mother to wash her face and helped her to bed in the next room. He himself lay there tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw that bloody scene. This made him even more certain of one thing: birth, aging, sickness and death are beyond human control. How can man fight against fate?
