Looking at Liu Man's expression, she laughed. Thankfully, he was a little white rabbit, not a vixen. She listened to her mother, so she was certain that marrying a wife wouldn't lead to a dramatic drop in status like her father, Zhao Dahu.
Liu Man showed a slight disappointment; she still wanted to be with Zhao Aiguo, but the thought of him saying he'd wait until she graduated from university filled her with sweetness and anticipation. She also wondered if her parents, knowing she was dating, would increase her allowance if they were satisfied with Zhao Aiguo's relationship.
She only snapped out of her daze when Zhao Jiaguo waved his hand in front of her eyes. "What are you thinking about? Go eat! I have to go back! Don't worry, we'll take care of your parents!"
Liu Man smiled and nodded, "Okay, then you can go!" With that, she took her lunchbox and went into the dormitory.
The Zhao family was enjoying themselves with drinks. Zhao Dahu, the father, was good at enlivening the atmosphere at drinking parties. Zhao's mother was shrewd and experienced, and she had always had high standards when she was young. She got along well with Liu's mother. Wei Shuqing would occasionally serve food to Liu's mother.
A short while later, Zhao Aiguo returned, and Zhao Dahu waved him over, saying, "Come on, have a drink with your Uncle Liu."
Zhao Aiguo carried in a box of large white pears and said, "Hey! You're here! Grandma, Auntie, Mom, have some drinks!" He opened three bottles and handed them over, then opened one for himself and said with a smile, "Uncle, I won't drink with you today. I have to drive to work this afternoon. Let's drink tonight. We'll go to Quanjude. I'll pick up Xiaoman, and we'll have a meal together."
Mr. Zhao nodded, "Yes, we must eat at Quanjude when we come to Beijing. Let's go there tonight!"
Liu's father was also in high spirits. "Alright! I'll listen to Aiguo! Aiguo, hurry up and eat."
Zhao Aiguo sighed and served himself some rice.
