Chapter 90 Ordinary Days 5

After the house transfer was completed, Director Wang said to Li Qiuxiang with a dark face, "Now that we have the house, you can't go back on your word!"

Li Qiuxiang said with a grin, "Director Wang, do you think I'm that kind of person? Just you wait and see! I'll move right now. If you're worried, send two people to help me move."

"Go away...go away...go away, you're pushing your luck! I've practically given you the house, and you expect me to send someone to help you move? What are you thinking?" Director Wang said, still worried. "You better keep your hands on it, if Old Lady Qi comes to the neighborhood committee crying and wailing again..."

"I'll break her legs... Ouch! Look at my foul mouth. Don't worry, I promise I'll stay far away from her! But you know my family's situation. The old lady is senile and has a son. She doesn't need us to take care of her. As long as she doesn't cause trouble, I definitely won't pay any attention to her." Li Qiuxiang made a solemn promise.

Director Wang nodded, "Then let's do it that way! Hurry up! Qi Zhijun seems to be home today!"

Li Qiuxiang nodded and said, "Don't worry, I'll go find a tricycle right away!" With that, she dashed off to Wei Dani's workplace, just in time to find Wei Dani knitting a sweater.

"Sister Qiuxiang, what brings you here?" Wei Dani asked, still wondering.

Li Qiuxiang laughed and said, "Well, the neighborhood committee saw that our shopkeeper's uncle, Qi Zhijun, was coming back today. His house is too small and there's no room for him, so they gave me an apartment. Now that I'm moving, I was thinking of borrowing your tricycle!"

Wei Dani blinked, and said incredulously, "You married... Wang Dong?"

Li Qiuxiang nodded and said, "Yes! You know him?"

Wei Dani gave an awkward laugh, hesitating to speak. Li Qiuxiang seemed to remember something, but without paying much attention, she said, "Their family's reputation isn't very good, so it's normal that you know that. But Wang Dong is alright..."

Wei Dani didn't want to say more, and pointed to the tricycle parked in the backyard, saying, "The vehicle is over there."

Li Qiuxiang nodded, "Okay, then I'll be going!"

Wei Dani felt that the world was really small. She never expected to see the Qi family again. She was young back then, but she knew that the Qi family was not good. She was also glad that Zhao Aiguo and her aunt had escaped their suffering.

She was knitting absentmindedly, waiting for Jiang Zhen to come over by bicycle with Zhao Aiguo at noon.

Wei Dani put down what she was doing and asked, "Why did you all come together?"

Jiang Zhen put the lunchbox on the table. "Haven't you been feeling unwell these past few days? I'll take you to the hospital to get checked out. Aiguo and the others have exercise this afternoon, so they don't have classes. I asked him to come over and help check on them."

"No need, I just feel weak and a little nauseous, I'll be fine in a bit." Wei Dani looked at Jiang Zhen disapprovingly.

Jiang Zhen smiled but didn't say anything. If he didn't care about his wife, would he have invited this "food god" to dinner? Old Master Zhao was watching closely, and he still gritted his teeth and ordered some hearty dishes: a lunchbox of braised beef, 13 steamed buns, and Zhao Aiguo even took two red bean buns.

When Jiang Zhen opened the lunchbox, he found cabbage, pork, dried tofu, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, and some pickled vegetables on the side. There was also a lunchbox of braised beef. However, Wei Dani felt nauseous as soon as she saw the beef and went outside to vomit. Jiang Zhen felt sorry for her and quickly told Zhao Aiguo to take it outside to eat.

Zhao Aiguo said worriedly, "Could it be that he has some serious illness? He's not even eating meat. Should we go see a doctor now?"

Jiang Zhen had a guess in his mind, but he wasn't sure, so he gestured for Zhao Aiguo to go out and get a lunchbox to eat on the kang (a heated brick bed).

Zhao Aiguo picked up some pickled vegetables, carrots, and wood ear mushrooms with his chopsticks, then carried a steamed bun to the kang (heated brick bed) and started eating, all the while watching Wei Dani with concern.

Jiang Zhen also had no appetite. He coaxed Wei Dani into eating half a steamed bun and a few shredded pickled vegetables. He ate a little himself, gave instructions to Zhao Aiguo, and then left with Wei Dani.

Zhao Aiguo got out of bed and devoured the remaining food, leaving four steamed buns, and even washed the lunchbox. Then he sat on the kang (a heated brick bed) and read the comic books he had brought.

In the afternoon, when Li Qiuxiang came to deliver the car, she saw Zhao Aiguo.

Even in a padded coat, she didn't look bulky at all; the silver-gray Lenin-style uniform over it made her look fair and delicate—truly handsome. I couldn't help but sigh again, "Things are so much better now!" After parking the car, I called out, "The car's been returned!"

Zhao Aiguo came out, smiled at Li Qiuxiang, and said, "Alright, just leave it there!"

Li Qiuxiang parked her car but didn't leave. She came in and sat down. "What are you doing here! Where's your sister?"

"I have something to do, I'll be back in a bit!" Zhao Aiguo didn't mind, smiled at Li Qiuxiang, and continued reading his comic book.

Li Qiuxiang sat opposite him, looking at the boy who seemed to have stepped out of a painting. She had no evil intentions; she was just admiring someone else's child because he was handsome.

Zhao Aiguo, however, was concerned about Li Qiuxiang wanting to read a comic book. He handed her one, and Li Qiuxiang took it. The two of them stayed until Grandpa Li came to take over.

Zhao Aiguo said goodbye, picked up his bag, and went out. He was actually very uneasy, feeling that Sister Dani's condition must be serious.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have come in the afternoon. He even kindly went to Jiang Zhen's house, where there were still four steamed buns that he had to return.

When she went inside, she found the young couple at home and hurriedly asked, "Sister Dani, what happened?"

Wei Dani blushed, and Jiang Zhen took the lunchbox bag and said with a smile, "It's okay, you're going to be an uncle."

Zhao Aiguo stared in disbelief, while Jiang Zhen laughed and said, "Your eldest sister Ni is pregnant!"

"Where should I put it?" Zhao Aiguo's silly question made the young couple blush. Wei Dani stomped her foot and went back into the house.

Jiang Zhen pushed Zhao Aiguo away, saying, "Go back and ask your dad! By the way, go back and ask if you can spare a bag of milk powder for your older sister, Da Ni. You're so tall now, missing a bag won't make a difference. I'll pay you back when I buy some." Looking at Zhao Aiguo, who was already 1.8 meters tall, he pursed his lips. With such a height, he didn't know how his family could lie and say that Zhao Aiguo was weak.

Zhao Aiguo was pushed out, still wondering why he didn't take it out for a look. What was wrong with him? He was still thinking about my milk powder. But then he thought about giving it to Sister Dani, so he decided to let it go.
