Chapter 9 A Praiseworthy Rival

"Yes, it's him. It seems that he is facing a powerful opponent. This is really difficult." Ragnar's face remained calm. "However, no matter how powerful the opponent is, my Nisbet can still kill him."

Was this a lie from King Ragnar?

All the lords present thought to themselves that perhaps King Ragnar said this in order to save face in front of them. They looked at the soldiers on the wall, who seemed to have the upper hand, but since their soldiers rushed up the wall, there was no massacre like before.

As we all know, the Nordic infantry division is the most powerful. The moment they climbed the city wall, the slaughter began. But now it seems that this is not the case. From here, it can be seen that the Nordic soldiers have not achieved much success. The lords can see that it is those soldiers holding two-handed swords who have defeated the Nordic soldiers' attacks again and again.

I didn’t expect that Swadia also had such elite soldiers.

King Ragnar naturally saw this situation. This was a special force. King Ragnar had similar forces before, but he thought it was unnecessary to use them now.

On the west wall, Saltonjar had already fought with Count Bollands, who was holding a two-handed sword. It was not a magic weapon like Edgars, but just a slightly better sword.

Lord Berlands was not a rich man.

Thordenjar was holding a one-handed sword and a shield. These two pieces of equipment were only slightly better than ordinary equipment. Like Count Bollands, he was not a rich man. Although he was the eldest son in the family, it did not mean that he could spend the family's money at will. Everything had to be obtained through his hard work, at least before his father died.

A one-handed sword and a two-handed sword clashed with each other, and the soldiers on both sides deliberately formed a circle to allow the two nobles to fight.

The same scene happened on the northern wall.

Nisbet was angry. He no longer cared whether Edgars's sword could hurt him. He wanted to maintain his dignity, and he had to risk his life for it.

He swung his axe at Edgars fiercely, and the two axes rushed towards Edgars with even stronger gusts of wind, which made the dilemma Edgars faced even greater. Although he could feel the two axes of Nisbet coming at him, he could also feel that the speed of the two axes was very fast, at least so fast that he had no way to dodge the two axes.

Edgars' rich combat experience came in handy at this time. He held his sword horizontally to form a shield, which caught Nisbett's two axes.

But!

One of Edgars' legs couldn't withstand such force and he suddenly fell to his knees.

"It seems that this guy still has some strength." Hewitt looked at Nisbett who knocked Edgars down.

Nisbett did not let go. He pressed his axe down with all his strength, stimulating Edgars with waves of force.

Edgars knew the predicament he was in. If he didn't do something now, he would die a miserable death.

When Nisbet saw Edgars being subdued by him, a hint of joy flashed through his heart.

"I will kill you and hang your head on top of this castle," Nisbet said to Edgars.

"I don't think it's that easy to kill me." Edgars said gritting his teeth.

As soon as he finished speaking, something strange happened.

Edgars put away his greatsword, and without the sword as a barrier, Nisbett's axe came down smoothly.

The two axes drew a cruel arc. If Edgars did not move, he would become a corpse in the next second.

Since Edgars had put away the greatsword in his hand, he was naturally prepared.

He pushed his still standing leg back and slid out of Nisbet's attack range like he was skating.

"What?" Nisbet was very unwilling to see his prey run away. Nisbet took a big step and swung the axe at Edgars with his right hand.

But Edgars was well prepared. He touched Nisbet's axe with the tip of his sword perfectly. The next second, the thing Nisbet was most worried about happened.

His iron axe was actually shattered by Edgars' meteorite sword.

The meteorite sword did not stop after piercing the iron axe, but continued to stab Nisbet.

"No!" Nisbett quickly leaned his body back, and at the same time tried to knock the meteorite sword away with the axe in his right hand.

Despite Nisbet's efforts, Edgars pierced Nisbet's armor.

The meteorite sword was indeed able to cut through iron like mud, and Nisbet's armor was pierced like a piece of thin paper.

But at this dangerous moment, Nisbet's other axe arrived in time and deflected the sword that was about to pierce Nisbet's body.

The greatsword, which had forcibly changed its trajectory, was not retracted. Instead, it slashed across Nisbet's chest, leaving a bloody mark.

Nisbet let out a howl of pain and suddenly threw the broken axe in his left hand towards Edgars, forcing Edgars to take a few steps back.

"Very good, Meteorite Knight, you are a formidable opponent I have met, and I will remember you." Despite being at such a disadvantage, he still sincerely praised his opponent.

Edgars looked at the broken axe in his hand, which was his last weapon.

As if noticing Edgars' gaze, he also knew that the axe in his hand was not of much use now.

The next second, Nisbett did something that shocked Edgars. He threw his only weapon at Edgars.

"Do you think I have no weapons? No! I have plenty of weapons." This is what Edgars heard after he deflected Nisbet's axe.

Nisbet suddenly turned around, and Edgars thought he was going to run away, but after only a few steps, Nisbet stopped.

What is he going to do?

This is a battlefield, and there are enemy troops everywhere. Nisbet only moved a few steps, and his big hands could touch several Swadian soldiers.

At this time, there were two Swadian soldiers in front of him.
