Before she even stepped into the courtyard, she saw Cao Wang waving at her. He was holding a straw hat in one hand and quickly ran over.
"Lin Yuxi, wait a minute, I need to talk to you about something."
Lin Yuxi stood there, looking puzzled. "What's wrong, village secretary?"
Cao Wang fanned himself with his hat, pointed to the courtyard gate, panting heavily, and said, "I was just looking for Gu Chen too. Let's go in together and talk about it."

"Go back and rest, I'll bring you food."

Lin Yuxi looked down at the handful of small pit fruits. "Thank you, Gu Chen."
Her eyes curved into crescents, her pink lips were moist and delicate, and her cheeks were as beautiful as peach blossoms in spring. Gu Chen stared at her for a moment, his lips slightly upturned, and then he quickly looked away, his smile fading, as if he were deep in thought.
"I'm going to deliver the food. Be careful on your way back." Gu Chen left in a hurry, not daring to meet her eyes. As he turned away, a very faint smile appeared on his lips.
She had just stepped out the door when Cao Wang turned back.
"Girl, that phone call came again. They insist on thanking you in person. Why don't you and Gu Chen take some time this afternoon to go to the town's health center? Otherwise, they keep calling and the line is busy, and I can't answer any other calls." Cao Wang said apologetically. He had originally declined, but the other party kept calling, and he couldn't even leave his office.
Lin Yuxi frowned slightly and sighed helplessly, "Let's discuss this with Gu Chen when he gets back. I just saved someone on the side, why does she insist on thanking me in person?"
