Lin Yuxi held a white porcelain spoon and ate the sweet syrup egg in her bowl in small bites.
The bright yellow egg yolk trembled slightly on the tip of the spoon, and the sweet aroma of the sugar water melted between the lips and teeth. Just as she finished the last bite, Gu Chen, who had already hung up the clothes, walked in from outside.
"My hands are cold, so I won't sit next to you. Go to sleep, it's getting late." Gu Chen rolled up his sleeves, and in the dim light, you could see that his knuckles were slightly red from being soaked in cold water.
He quietly got into bed and massaged her slightly swollen calves through her cotton pants, using just the right amount of pressure.
Lin Yuxi sighed comfortably and lay down. Gu Chen stretched out his arm and turned off the light, plunging the room into darkness.

Her faint movements startled Gu Chen awake. He quickly turned on the light and, seeing her pale face and the sweat on her forehead, asked in a tense voice, "Is your stomach upset or something else?"
As he asked the question, he had already rolled out of bed and deftly put on his pants and coat.
"It seems like I'm about to give birth." Lin Yuxi clutched her stomach and took a deep breath. "Go get the car and wake Mom up."
Even though he had anticipated this, Gu Chen's hands still trembled, so much so that he could barely button his clothes. He simply left them unbuttoned and quickly opened the door. His hurried footsteps echoed in the living room. He knocked on Jiang Shufen's door and said, "Mom, Xixi is about to give birth. I'm going to get the car. You can take care of her for a while."
His voice sounded particularly tense in the darkness of the night.
Jiang Shufen was instantly wide awake. She quickly turned on the light. She was dressed warmly for bed and didn't even have time to put on a coat before rushing into the bedroom.
"Mom, go put on your coat first, it's cold outside." Lin Yuxi felt the pain and then found a coat in the closet and put it on herself.
The sudden pain had made her feel a little uncomfortable, but at this moment, she felt that the pain was negligible.
Seeing that she seemed alright, Jiang Shufen asked doubtfully, "You're not bluffing, are you?"
"It shouldn't be. The pain is somewhat regular. I should go to the hospital to get it checked out." Lin Yuxi said, already packing her things. Gu Chen had already packed everything, but she still brought a few extra sets of clothes.
Jiang Shufen quickly carried several bags of things, while Lin Yuxi leisurely sat on the sofa drinking water, making Jiang Shufen and Gu Chen seem particularly nervous.
"Your due date is still about ten days away, I didn't expect it to start so soon. I'll take your things out first. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, just lie down for a while," Jiang Shufen said worriedly.
By this time, everyone else was already asleep.

Gu Chen and Jiang Shufen put the things in the trunk of the car.
