Chapter 14 Old House
When they arrived at the old house, the servant welcomed them in and said, "The old lady is busy in the kitchen. Please take a seat first."
After saying that, the aunt went to serve them tea and water and brought them a fruit plate.
The old lady of the Fu family came from an ordinary family. Even though she had enjoyed happiness for half her life, she was just like any other old person in an ordinary family. She liked to take care of children, cook, and sometimes even knit scarves for her younger generations.
Even though there were undercurrents among the younger generations of the Fu family, they all respected the old lady very much.
While Wenliang was changing his shoes, he asked the servant, "Where's Grandpa?"
The servant pointed upstairs and said, "He's resting. The old man has been feeling worse lately."
After hearing this, Wen Liang and Fu Zheng both looked worried.
The Fu family's business was passed down from the old man's previous generation, but it was developed and expanded in the hands of the old man. When he was young, he injured his body due to work, and his health has been poor since he got older, not to mention that he had a liver transplant and has been taking rejection drugs.
"What did Dean Lin say?" Fu Zheng asked.
Dean Lin is the director of Dexing Hospital and also the old man’s personal doctor.
"He can only do his best."
Fu Zheng nodded solemnly.
Wen Liang went to the kitchen to help the old lady.
"Aliang. You go and rest outside. You don't have to help me. I can handle it myself." The old lady sent Wen Liang out.
Wen Liang said, "Grandma, I have nothing to do sitting outside, so why not come and help you?"
The old lady gave her a disapproving look and said, "Why are you alright? Sit outside and talk to Zheng."
Seeing Wen Liang silent, the old lady said again, "Did you have a quarrel with A Zheng? I also saw what happened in the news. Don't worry, I will definitely help you teach him a lesson."
"Grandma, don't worry about me. We will handle the matter between me and A Zheng."
"Don't think I don't know. Ah Zheng is taking advantage of your good temper to bully you. Don't think I don't know what this brat is thinking. You will always be the daughter-in-law of our Fu family. If this brat wants a divorce, he has to get through me first."
The old lady knew what was going on.
Wen Liang didn't say anything else, nor did he defend Fu Zheng.
Since he wants a divorce and has said that he will explain everything to grandpa and grandma, then let him do it.
Wen Liang would not be so self-deprecating as to help him conceal the truth, nor would she interfere and provoke the old lady to help her.
When it was time for dinner, the servant went upstairs to help the old man down, and Fu Zheng went over to lend a hand.
Wen Liang helped the old lady bring plates of food to the table.
Fu Zheng said, "Grandma's cooking skills are as good as ever."
The old lady glanced at Wen Liang and said reproachfully, "Why don't you praise your wife? She made all these dishes. I think you're paying less and less attention to her."
Fu Zheng paused, "Aliang's cooking skills are also good."
"Perfunctory." The old lady complained.
Fu Zheng: "..."
He knew that because of the incident that was on the hot search, the old lady was particularly displeased with him today.
Sitting down at the dinner table, the old man cleared his throat and said slowly, "A Zheng, I heard that the girl from the Chu family returned home recently?"
Fu Zheng nodded seriously, "I came back not long ago."
"I saw the news this morning. You two were in a relationship, but you've broken up now. You and Aliang are husband and wife. Don't get so close to that girl from the Chu family in the future. Otherwise, what will Aliang think? I heard that the company is cooperating with her, so let Aliang contact her. You don't have to get involved."
Fu Zheng put down his chopsticks and looked at the old man seriously: "Grandpa, I plan to..."
“Cough cough cough…”
The old man coughed and interrupted Fu Zheng. "It was Aliang's father who saved my life. I promised him that I would treat Aliang as my own granddaughter, which is why I chose to marry her to you. Before we got married, Grandpa asked if you were willing, and you agreed yourself. Grandpa knows that you are a responsible man. Azheng, don't be a man who goes back on his word. Don't let Grandpa look down on you. Don't make Grandpa regret taking you back."
Fu Zheng was silent.
Grandpa's words were so serious that Fu Zheng obviously could not refute them. His silence was a silent resistance and silent persistence.
The atmosphere is solemn.
