Chapter 43: I Lied to Her for Three Years

Chapter 43: I Lied to Her for Three Years

The driver parked the car outside. Wen Liang went around to the side and got on the back seat, looking at the night view outside the window without saying a word.

The driver was concentrating on driving and looking at the road ahead.

The noise and sirens outside were incessant, forming a stark contrast to the quiet atmosphere inside the car.

Fu Zheng looked at Wen Liang's slightly gloomy expression and asked, "Since you've already used the card I gave you, why do you want to return it and buy a new one?"

Later, he received another text message reminder on his mobile phone, saying that all the previous deductions were refunded, but the goods were still in her hands, which meant that she bought them again with her own money.

Wen Liang still looked out the window without looking back. "I spend money if I want to, and I don't spend money if I don't want to. It has nothing to do with you."

"Are you angry because I accompanied Siyi shopping?"

"Haven't you done enough for Chu Siyi? It's just a stroll, why should I be angry?"

Wen Liang showed a mocking smile on his face, leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

"Then what happened to you?"

What's wrong with her?

She also wanted to know what was wrong with her.

She felt very tired and empty inside, and had no motivation to do anything.

Just like a machine loses power and stops moving, a mobile phone loses power and turns off.

In the past, she could still deceive herself that Fu Zheng had feelings for her during their three years of marriage.

But now, whenever she sees Fu Zheng, Chu Siyi's words come to mind.

She really wanted to ask him, since he liked Chu Siyi so much and couldn't forget her, why did he want to marry her?

"What's wrong with your hand?" Fu Zheng suddenly saw a red spot on the back of Wen Liang's hand.

"I got burned while eating."

"Why don't you take care of it? Lao Liu, go to the hospital."

Wen Liang opened her eyes and looked at him, her brows full of concern. For some reason, she felt it was very ironic and pulled her hand back forcefully, "No need, it's not a big deal."

In the past, when she saw him like this, her heart softened.

Now she really wanted to laugh. He was such a good actor.

He acted so realistically that he deceived her for three years.

"Wenliang, you can be angry if you want, but don't joke with your body."

"I'm not angry, and I'm not joking." Wen Liang leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

Fu Zheng's face was solemn, and he looked at Wen Liang's indifferent and indifferent expression. "Wen Liang, do you really have to be like this?"

"What's wrong with me?" Wen Liang opened one eye and looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "I just don't need your concern. Isn't this exactly what you want? You don't have to go to great lengths to act like a good husband to me."

Fu Zheng's expression became uglier, "Wen Liang, what are you talking about?"

"Don't you understand what I'm saying? Don't you understand what you've done? Do you really need me to tell you?"

"What have I done that you would condemn me?"

"What did you do?" Wen Liang smiled, "Do you remember when our wedding anniversary is?"

Fu Zheng paused and replied, "September 20th."

"Why are you feeling guilty?"

Fu Zheng was silent.

Wen Liang smiled and said, "I just found out too. September 20th is Chu Siyi's birthday. You really love her so much that you even use our anniversary to remember her."

As she spoke, Wen Liang felt a sore nose and a sour feeling in her throat, which made her want to cry.

She forced herself to speak, "You go on a business trip every July, for at least half a month. What do you do?"

The car became quiet and the driver didn't dare to breathe.

Seeing Fu Zheng didn't say anything, Wen Liang suddenly roared, "Speak! Explain, why don't you explain?"

He was speechless and didn't even want to lie to comfort her.

"You feel guilty, right? You don't dare to admit it?" Wen Liang questioned word by word.

"Since you like her so much, why don't you wait for her? Why do you choose to marry me? I don't have to be with you. Why do you treat me like this? You don't even treat me as a human being!" Wen Liang roared, tears streaming down his face, his whole body trembling.

She has never cried in front of others since her father passed away.

She has a soft heart, is self-deprecating and sensitive, so she is used to building a solid shell on the outside.

She is just an ordinary person who was adopted by the Fu family because of luck, but because of this, she lives in fear, caution, and observing people's words and expressions.

The Fu family looked down on her. Apart from her grandparents, only Fu Zheng would treat her with kindness. Sometimes Wen Liang thought that even if he didn't love her, he should have some feelings for her.

But she was wrong. She was so wrong.

If he really had some affection for her, he would not treat her like this.

To him, she was not even as good as a stranger.

He was the same as those people, even more indifferent than them, but he hid his emotions in his heart and put on politeness on the outside, which confused her.

The car was as quiet as if no one was there.

There was a long silence.

Fu Zheng took a deep breath, looking at Wen Liang's tearful face, his heart felt like it was being squeezed, and he said in a deep voice, "I'm sorry."

Sorry again, no matter what happened, he would only say sorry.

"What else can you say besides sorry? Fu Zheng, I just realized that your heart is made of stone!"

Wen Liang was deeply saddened, gasping for breath, and reached out to wipe the tears from his face.

"I will make it up to you."

Wen Liang laughed, "Haha, compensation. Compensation again. How are you going to compensate me? Are you going to not divorce me, or let me quit my job and leave here? You can't give me what I want, so how are you going to compensate me?"

Fu Zheng fell silent again.

Wen Liang didn't want to say anything anymore. He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. "I don't want to talk to you now."

Fu Zheng was speechless, his brows slightly furrowed, his eyes dark and dim.

The car became quiet and the atmosphere was depressing and gloomy.

The driver didn't even dare to look in the rearview mirror.

The car drove into the villa and stopped in the courtyard.

Wen Liang got out of the car, took out his spoils of the day from the trunk and went into the villa.

Fu Zheng followed her, looked at her nimble back, paused for a moment before catching up.

Wen Liang went straight back to his room. Fu Zheng stood at the stairs for a while, then turned and went to the study to do some work.

It’s just that his work efficiency was particularly low tonight. He couldn’t finish reading a document even after spending half an hour on it.

From time to time, my mind becomes distracted, and I don’t know what I’m thinking about.

Time passed so quickly that when he looked up it was already past eleven o'clock.

Fu Zheng put down the documents and returned to his room. Looking at the somewhat empty master bedroom, his heart seemed a little empty as well. It might be because they had lived together for three years and he was a little uncomfortable with the sudden separation.

Fu Zheng glanced casually and saw that there were some extra things on the table.

It's the black card, returned as it is.

There was also a note on it with a sentence written on it: Remember to get the divorce certificate on Monday.

Fu Zheng's throat rolled up and down, and the fingers holding the black card tightened slightly.

Somehow, he came to the door of Wen Liang's room, raised his arm, paused for a moment, and then knocked on the door.

Wen Liang opened the door while wiping her half-dried hair. Seeing that it was Fu Zheng, she asked calmly, "What's the matter?"
