The blue fox carried the little foxes on its back, running forward desperately while tears streamed down its face.
I parted ways with the clan leader tonight; it will be difficult to see him again.
The little foxes patted him on the back. "Uncle Green Fox, don't cry. Let me blow on it for you."
"Waaaaah... Where are we going? I miss Daddy, I miss Mommy, I miss the clan chief..."
"Waaaaah, waaaah..."
The sadness infected every fox, and they all began to cry.
Apart from Bai Rui, he sat there blankly the whole time.
The blue fox held back his tears and comforted all the little foxes, "Children, don't cry, don't cry. Uncle will take you to the south to visit your relatives. When you come back, you will be able to see the chief and your parents."
He carries the hopes and future of the Northeast Fox Clan on his shoulders; he cannot cry, he must be strong.
The blue fox gently comforted the little foxes, "Uncle will take you to see the outside world, where there are airplanes, cars, amusement parks..."
The little foxes were immersed in the beautiful fantasy he had woven.
"Uncle Green Fox, I want to ride in an airplane, fly and fly."
"I want some too, I want to eat candied hawthorns..."
"I want to ride the carousel."
The little foxes chattered happily again. For them, happiness was very simple: having family and friends around, and having delicious food and fun things to do every day.
A little fox patted the red fox beside it, "Red Fox, why aren't you saying anything?"
Bai Rui remained silent, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
"Ah! I remember now, Chichi is from the south, he must know what fun things there are to do outside, tell us quickly."
Bai Rui remained silent, his head bowed low.
"Don't call him Chichi, he's angry."
Bai Rui is a little red fox. Fox cubs are used to distinguishing foxes by color, but Chi Chi doesn't seem to like this name.
"Bai Rui, don't be angry. I'll bring you some candied hawthorns after we get out, okay?"
Bai Rui murmured in a very low voice, "We can't get out, we can't get out..."
"What's the meaning?"
Before the little foxes could react, Bai Rui jumped off the blue fox's back, blocking everyone's path.
Qinghu stopped abruptly. "Bai Rui, what are you doing?"
Bai Rui raised his head, his eyes icy cold. Just as he was about to speak, a boat suddenly descended from above.
Both he and Qinghu were startled.
"who?"
The blue fox warily stared at the sudden arrival of the boat. He was carrying many young fox cubs on his back. If they encountered enemies again, the Northeast fox clan would be wiped out.
Bai Rui was also examining the boat; it was light and airy, and the hull seemed to be made of paper.
A purple fox jumped down and shouted excitedly, "Uncle Green Fox, Bai Rui, it's so good that you're all alright."
The blue fox was overjoyed, "Bai Rou!"
The little foxes were overjoyed. "Little Rou Rou, we thought you were dead."
A hint of surprise flashed in Bai Rui's eyes, "Bai Rou, what happened to you..."
Before they could finish speaking, the boat in front of them suddenly disappeared, and three people appeared before the foxes.
There were two men and one woman. The two men were very dirty and looked extremely disheveled, much like black people who had just returned from mining in Africa.
The woman exuded an imposing aura, and Bai Rui secretly glanced at her out of the corner of his eye.
One glance was enough to send shivers down my spine; this woman seemed to see right through me.
Bai Rui couldn't help but shudder.
Bai Rou patted his shoulder, "What are you spacing out for? Are you unhappy to see me?"
"No." Bai Rui forced a smile. "Of course I'm happy to see you're alright."
Bai Rou thought he was acting strangely, but didn't think much of it. She figured Bai Rui must be terrified tonight after encountering a ferocious werewolf.
Bai Rou comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I've brought reinforcements."
Qinghu stepped forward. "Bai Rou, who are they?"
“People from the Special Administration Bureau,” Bai Rou asked quickly. “Where’s Aunt? Where’s that werewolf?”
The blue fox lowered its head. "In the forbidden area."
"How did we get there?" Bai Rou looked at Lin Xi. "We can't enter the Fox Clan's forbidden area without the clan leader's order, we..."
"Stop talking nonsense." Lin Xi patted her head. "Take me there now."
"Oh, oh." Bai Rou quickly grew larger. "Master, I know a shortcut. Come on up quickly."
Lin Xi jumped onto her back and turned to instruct Yun Yan and Bai Xiuyuan, "Keep an eye on them."
The purple fox disappeared in a flash, and the blue fox wanted to chase after it, but cried out, "Bai Rou, don't go and get yourself killed!"
Yun Yan and Bai Xiuyuan exchanged a glance and blocked his way from the left and right. "Excuse me, please stay here."
The junior master said "keep an eye on it," not "protect it."
Yun Yan took out his Special Administration Bureau ID. "Please cooperate."
Qinghu's eyes widened. "People from the Imperial Capital Special Administration Bureau, why didn't you chase after it? That werewolf is incredibly strong."
Yun Yan gazed into the distance, "She's even stronger."
Qinghu didn't understand, "How strong can a little girl with thin arms and legs be?"
Bai Xiuyuan exaggeratedly said, "She is incredibly strong. She is the most powerful and well-rounded human I have ever seen."
"Really?" Qinghu looked them over suspiciously. "You two grown men are so comfortable hiding in the back, letting a little girl go to the front to fight?"
Bai Xiuyuan calmly replied, "I'm too weak to be a burden."
Yun Yan spoke up: "Me too."
Emerging from the Eight Gates Golden Lock Formation nearly cost him his life; his right hand still aches.
Going there would only be a hindrance and bring trouble to the junior master.
Blue Fox: "..."
This is the first time I've seen two men admit defeat so readily. Is that girl really that strong?
Bai Xiuyuan plopped down. "Take a rest. Your claw is bleeding."
