Chapter 175 Happy Birthday

Fu Wanru sat blankly on the ground, the light in her eyes gone.

Yang Wenzhou's face was contorted with rage. He moved his lips as if to utter a few more curses, but Qi Wenye stopped him in time, saying, "Madam, what should we do?"

His eyes gleamed with excitement, as if he were ready to send the two to Africa at Lin Xi's urging.

Lin Xi glanced at her phone. "They're almost here. Just wait a little longer."

While she was eating melons, she notified the Special Administration Bureau to arrest the person, as all cases involving metaphysics were under their jurisdiction.

Although she saw through the sinister Buddha statue and the half-baked luck-changing talisman early on and it didn't harm anyone, it was still considered an attempted crime.

"Big boss, I'm here." Jiang Yuanyuan rushed in, taking two steps at a time. Seeing so many people, she immediately stood up straight. "Hello everyone, haha."

Zhang Wenxiu glanced at her discreetly.

This little girl is lovely; she's sunny and energetic, with gentle and sincere eyes—she's clearly a well-behaved and sensible child.

Zhang Wenxiu smiled and said, "Hello, little girl, are you Xixi's friend?"

"Haha, that's right, I'm good friends with the boss." Jiang Yuanyuan waved awkwardly. "Grandma, hello, my name is Jiang Yuanyuan, just call me Yuanyuan."

This trip was worthwhile. The big boss's family calls her Xixi in private, so she should also be called Xixi from now on.

Hehe, Xixi~~

Zhang Wenxiu patted her grandson next to her, "Xiao Heng, what are you standing there for? We're guests, quickly pour tea for Yuanyuan."

Ji Heng clutched his bottom and howled, "Grandma, you hit my wound! It hurts! Ouch! For something as trivial as pouring tea, ask Aunt Wu."

Zhang Wenxiu pinched him, "Go quickly."

Jiang Yuanyuan waved her hand, "Grandma, no need to be so polite. I have something to do, I'll be going right away."

She walked towards Lin Xi and said, "Boss, I'm here."

Lin Xi asked in confusion, "Why are you alone again?"

Jiang Yuanyuan lowered her voice, "Brother Xiuyuan suffered a severe blow last time and has been practicing swordsmanship diligently. The captain is going back to Yuanqing Temple to pick up his master."

Lin Xi's brow twitched. "Master Jingyuan is coming to the capital."

Master Jingyuan, the white-bearded old man who forced her to drink milk and whom she beat up, what is he doing down the mountain? Is he here to settle scores with her?

"Mmm." Jiang Yuanyuan nodded. "Boss, are these the three people?"

Lin Xi took out the half-baked luck-changing talisman, "Thank you for your help."

Jiang Yuanyuan put it away. "No trouble at all. Finding sorcerers is the Special Administration Bureau's responsibility. Thank you for providing the clue, boss. I'll be going now. I'll let you know if I have any news."

She turned her wrist. "Three, two, one, go!"

Ding-dong! Ding-dong!

A strange bell rang, and Yang Wenzhou and the other two stood up uncontrollably, their hands and feet together, hopping and skipping behind her.

Jiang Yuanyuan waved behind her, "Bye-bye, Xixi."

After saying that, she ran incredibly fast, as if a hundred vengeful ghosts were chasing her.

The first time she called her Xixi, she was afraid the big boss would beat her up, so she ran away.

Because she was going too fast, Jiang Yuanyuan kicked a step and her head hit a tree.

Ouch!

She covered her head and ran away quickly; how embarrassing!

Lin Xi covered her face and explained, "Yuanyuan works for the police station. She'll take those three people back to the station for investigation. She'll let us know when she has any news, so don't worry about their safety."

Fu Jianhua sighed, "It's good that Fu Wanru is sobering up inside. Let's leave her alone. Come on, everyone, sit down."

Lin Xi walked straight to Ji Heng, took out her phone and put it in front of her.

Upon seeing such a familiar gesture, Ji Heng immediately had a bad feeling. "Boss, what are you doing?"

Lin Xi coughed lightly, "According to the sect's rules, work is work, and feelings are feelings. The fortune-telling fee is one thousand."

"Why should I be the one to pay?!"

Ji Heng looked around. It wouldn't be appropriate to let his grandparents give it to him. As for that guy... forget it, he wouldn't dare.

Since it's only a thousand yuan, I'll just consider it a melon seed fee.

Ji Heng immediately transferred 1,000 yuan to him, saying, "Boss, next time something like this happens, call me. I can give you a bonus for being a bystander."

"Final exam, finished memorizing the books?" Fu Jingyao said coldly. "Forgot how to address people again? Your etiquette is lacking. You need to take a remedial course."

Ji Heng trembled involuntarily and hurriedly shouted three times, "Sister-in-law, sister-in-law, sister-in-law!"

With a strong will to survive, he quickly hid in a corner, saying, "Sister-in-law, I'm not going, I need to study for my exam."

Zhang Wenxiu smiled knowingly.

Oh dear, someone's jealousy has overflowed; even his cousin is jealous.

After shipping the couple for three seconds, Butler Liu called over five servants: one to mop the floor, one to wipe the table, one to pour tea, one to tidy the table, and one to take out the trash.

The living room was quickly restored to its original state, and many snacks were placed in front of Lin Xi again. She had just finished eating sunflower seeds and was resting on the sofa.

Fu Jingyao sat down next to him, while Ji Heng remained in the corner peeling oranges. He had been eating too many melon seeds, which made him feel hot and bothered, so he ate a couple of oranges to cleanse his palate.

After a moment, Ji Heng finished eating the two oranges and took out his phone to send a message.

My parents and sister haven't arrived yet; my grandparents are waiting for them to start the meal.

Just as the message was sent out, three people walked in through the door: Ji Mingshan, Fu Xinya, and Ji Zheng.

Fu Jianhua stood up. "You've arrived. Please have a seat."

Ji Mingshan took Fu Xinya's arm and stepped forward, "Dad, happy birthday! May you have boundless happiness and longevity."

Ji Zheng presented a gift, saying, "Grandpa, happy birthday."

Fu Jianhua finally smiled, "Alright, alright, sit down, everyone sit down, dinner will be served soon."

Ji Heng craned his neck, "Grandpa, it's still early, how about we open the presents?"

Ji Mingshan slapped him on the back of the head. "Stop having any funny ideas. Sit down quietly. You're such a big person, and you have no manners at all. What can you do all day except eat?"

Ji Heng pouted; he was being disliked yet again.
