Jiang Chi became more and more excited as he spoke, transforming back into the unrestrained teenager, "In short, I'm not a pervert, and I haven't done anything bad."
Ji Heng didn't understand. "This gun has nothing to do with you being in the cemetery. Don't try to confuse things. Tell me the truth."
Jiang Chi rolled his eyes, not wanting to talk to an idiot.
When he encountered the human skin drum, he and Zhou Junjie were locked together, and they were so angry they were practically bursting with rage.
Lin Xi understood, "You're testing a new weapon."
Jiang Chi nodded slightly. "You're much smarter than him. I like talking to smart people."
The implication was that he was being called stupid, something Ji Heng was already used to.
He stuck out his tongue and made a face. "Hehehe, so what if I'm stupid? Did I eat your rice?"
Jiang Chi ignored him and continued, "After encountering the human skin drum last time, I had a brilliant idea when I got home. Since ghosts exist, can we explain them using science?"
After the human skin drum case ended, he was punished by his elder brother to kneel in the ancestral hall for blowing up the toilet belonging to his own company.
The ancestral hall was extremely quiet, making it a good place for contemplation.
Jiang Chi knelt down while his mind raced.
Computers are boring, chemistry is boring, but ghosts are interesting, and I want to study them.
He firmly believes that science can explain everything, and that metaphysics is simply science that has not yet been explained and is waiting to be explored by humankind.
Everything in the world is composed of different particles, and its essence is energy, from the vast universe and galaxies to a single grain of dust.
Ghosts may be energy bodies composed of undiscovered particles.
Once the range of energy fluctuations is found, instruments for detecting ghosts can be created.
Jiang Chi was filled with curiosity. After kneeling in the ancestral hall, he plunged into his laboratory.
He liked to study strange and unusual things, so his older brother, fearing he might blow up someone else's lab, built him a new one.
Jiang Chi secluded himself in the laboratory for half a month and finally found the fluctuations that occurred when the ghost appeared.
He continued his research and developed a specially designed pistol.
Blue indicates there are no ghosts nearby, while red indicates there are ghosts.
The drawback is that it can only judge a range of three meters.
The experimental sample size is insufficient; we need to find a place with many ghosts to test it and continue improving the ghost-finding gun.
Where are the most ghosts?
Of course, it's a cemetery.
Jiang Chi took the ghost-hunting gun and wandered around the cemetery at night, searching for traces of ghosts.
He actually found it: a ghost possessing a corpse, which was Xu Yuan.
He was incredibly excited at the time, desperately chasing after Xu Yuan, wanting to study her soul and body.
At this point, Jiang Chi sighed, "It's a pity that the female ghost ran too fast, and I couldn't catch up with her."
Ji Heng was stunned. "You want to catch a ghost to study?"
Normal people run away as fast as they can when they see a ghost, but this guy is desperately looking for a ghost. Is he crazy?
When Jiang Chi talked about his research, his eyes lit up with a strange light. "I read through ancient books and figured out a concept: in metaphysics, essence, energy, and spirit are, in scientific terms, matter, energy, and information."
"Humans have yang energy, and ghosts have yin energy; both are called energy."
"According to the law of conservation of energy, energy can neither disappear nor be created out of thin air; it can only transform from one form to another. I'll use an infrared detector as a template..."
He rattled off a whole bunch of things, but Lin Xi was completely confused. In short, it all boiled down to one sentence.
"Kid, you're courting death."
Lin Xi said calmly, "Ghosts are not as weak as you think. If an ordinary person doesn't carry any protective magic items and just uses your broken gun to deliberately go to places with many ghosts, you will be eaten by ghosts sooner or later."
Ji Heng immediately chimed in, "The boss is right. Some of these ghost thieves are terrifying. They've killed a lot of people, and there are zombies with black fingernails and black skin. There's no way to escape them."
Jiang Chi showed no fear whatsoever; instead, he became even more excited. "There are even zombies!"
Ji Heng was shocked. "That's not the point. Do you want to capture a zombie for research?"
Jiang Chi thought carefully, "Zombies have bodies and can be seen, so they should be easier to catch than ghosts."
Ji Heng quipped, "If you don't court death, you won't die."
Jiang Chi countered, "What's the point of living a repetitive life like a robot? Life is meant for creation and challenges, not for meaningless consumption."
"If I can invent something new, research scientific weapons to find, detect, harm, or even kill ghosts, and usher in a new era, then so be it if I die."
"The existence of ghosts proves that death does not mean disappearance. I did not die, but rather transformed into another form of energy."
Ji Heng was speechless, unable to understand the thought process of a top student who would give up his life for research.
Lying down makes people happy, while striving makes people suffer.
He's determined to give up; any normal person would choose that.
The toilet-blowing guy is an exception; he's wildly dancing on the edge of suicide.
Jiang Chi slightly raised his chin. "Now that everything has been explained, let me go."
Lin Xi still wouldn't let go. "The two ghosts you saw, Sangzhu and Xuyuan, both had consciousness. The only true vengeful ghost is one with murderous intent."
She looked you up and down a few times, "With your small frame, you can't withstand a single blow from a fierce ghost."
These words don't cause much harm, but they are extremely insulting.
Jiang Chi had always been a prodigy, and he was extremely resentful. Just as he was about to retort, his heart started racing.
Bang bang bang!
Strange, it's happening again.
His heart raced when they met for the first time.
What exactly is the relationship between him and her?
Their eyes met in mid-air. Jiang Chi clutched his chest, his brows furrowing slightly. "Let me go!"
Lin Xi immediately let go and took a step back. "Young man, please don't try to scam me. I didn't do anything."
Ji Heng shouted, "The Jiang family is a wealthy family after all. If you try to scam me, I'll get my dad to complain to your older brother."
