Chapter 256 He Wants to Find His Sister

Twenty years ago, the Jiang family.

Xiao Jiangji gently pushed open the door and peeked inside.

There were two swaddled babies on the bed, one blue and one pink.

These are his newborn twins, his younger brother and sister.

Xiao Jiangji tiptoed inside, glancing at his younger brother and then at his younger sister.

My younger brother lay motionless, asleep with his eyes closed.

My younger sister woke up sometime earlier, her grape-like eyes blinking as she curiously looked at him.

The little dumpling is exquisitely beautiful, with big eyes, long eyelashes, and fair, tender skin; it's even prettier than the Fuwa dolls in New Year paintings.

Xiao Jiangji leaned closer and poked her cheek with his finger. "Little sister, I'm your second brother."

The little dumpling opened its mouth and made cooing sounds, as if responding to him.

Xiao Jiangji was overjoyed and kept talking to himself, "Little sister, you're calling for your second brother, aren't you?"

"Wow! You called me Second Brother, I'm so happy!"

"Little sister, you're still so small, but that's okay. I'll tell you the secret: drink more milk to grow taller. Are you hungry? Do you want some milk?"

The pink dumpling had big, confused eyes as she lay quietly on the bed.

Xiao Jiangji was extremely excited. "Little sister, if you don't say anything, it means you agree. Second brother will go make the milk powder. You wait here."

After giving birth to twins, my mother was severely weakened and has been recuperating in the hospital ever since.

My poor little sister was born and could only drink formula.

Xiao Jiangji ran into the milk powder room, skillfully picked up a pink bottle, poured in water that wasn't too hot to the touch, and scooped a spoonful of milk powder to level the surface at the bottle opening.

A familiar voice came from behind, "Jiang Ji?"

Xiao Jiangji turned around, holding the baby bottle, a little nervous, "Big brother, get out of class is over."

My older brother is a very busy person. He takes many classes every day, including mathematics, economics, finance, business management, and so on.

It was all a mess, and he got a headache just looking at the schedule.

Xiao Jiangji explained, "Big brother, little sister is hungry."

The older brother glanced at his watch. "It's not time yet. Leave the baby formula preparation to the nanny. Don't do anything else."

Xiao Jiangji retorted, "I learned it a long time ago. My little sister likes the milk I make, but she doesn't like the formula that Auntie makes. Big brother, if you don't believe me, just watch for yourself."

The older brother reluctantly agreed, "Alright, I'll keep an eye on things. Also, make a couple of spoonfuls for the younger brother, otherwise they'll fight."

Xiao Jiangji subconsciously retorted, "My little sister is so cute, she won't fight."

After preparing the formula under his older brother's watchful eye, he carried a baby bottle in each hand upstairs.

As soon as I pushed open the door, a loud cry came from inside.

"Awoooooo..."

Xiao Jiangji's heart tightened. "Little sister, don't cry, your second brother has brought the milk bottle... Hmm?!"

The younger sister held down her younger brother's leg, waving her little arms with great enthusiasm.

The younger brother pouted and burst into tears.

My little sister is so young, yet she's already fighting!

Xiao Jiangji stood there, stunned.

The older brother sighed and quickly separated the two children.

"My sister is naturally strong. When she grows up, we can enroll her in a martial arts class so that she can use her strength and defend herself. No one will dare to bully her in the future."

"No! I object!" Jiang Ji couldn't imagine his cute little sister growing up to become a violent girl.

"My little sister is a princess, she'll never have to learn to fight, we'll protect her."

The older brother glanced at him indifferently and said, "You're right. We should respect our sister's opinion. Give me the bottle."

Xiao Jiangji hugged the pink bottle and handed over the blue one, saying, "You feed your brother, and I'll feed your sister."

He gently picked up the pink little bundle of joy. "Little sister, it's time for your milk."

The little dumpling instinctively grabbed the bottle and started gulping down the milk.

Xiao Jiang Ji was overjoyed. "Big brother, little sister likes the milk powder I made."

The older brother's gaze softened. "Okay, hurry up and leave after you're done feeding them. Your younger siblings need to sleep."

"Oh, okay." Xiao Jiangji suddenly remembered an important question, "Big brother, my younger brother and sister don't have names."

Eldest brother: "It is a Jiang family tradition that when a child is eight months old, after paying respects to the ancestors, the head of the family will name the child and add him to the family genealogy."

Xiao Jiangji asked, "When?"

Eldest brother: "The eighth day of next month."

"What a coincidence, my sister's name will definitely be perfect on my birthday," Xiao Jiangji added. "And my brother's too."

Xiao Jiangji never got to hear his sister's name again; she disappeared on his birthday.

That day, the atmosphere in the Jiang family was somber.

The adults came and went with stern faces, and the children didn't dare to make a sound; there was no feeling of celebrating a birthday at all.

Xiao Jiangji didn't care; with his younger siblings by his side and his older brother lighting candles to celebrate his birthday, he was already very happy.

Five small candles emitted a dim yellow light. Through the candlelight, Jiang Ji looked at his older brother across from him. "Where are Grandpa and Dad? Don't they remember my birthday?"

The older brother said calmly, "Grandpa and Dad are busy today, so I'll celebrate your birthday for you. Make a wish."

Xiao Jiangji closed her eyes and made a wish.

My first wish is for my younger siblings to grow up quickly.

"My second wish is for my family to be together."

"The third wish... oh, right, I can't say it out loud."

Xiao Jiangji silently prayed in his heart: I hope my sister will always be safe and happy.

He opened his eyes, blew out the candle, and asked, "Brother, will my wish come true?"

The older brother patted his head. "Yes."

Xiao Jiangji cut the cake, saying, "My younger brother and sister can't eat it, so we'll each have half."

My older brother received a phone call and rushed off.

Xiao Jiangji sat at the table and ate the whole cake by herself.

As he ate, he kept saying, "Little brother and sister, grow up quickly! Your second brother will give you presents for your birthdays..."
