University A
Ji Heng lay in his dormitory unable to sleep, staring nervously at the ceiling.
The big shot said he was in for some bloodshed, so he was very careful on his way back to school and went straight to bed in his dorm room.
Ji Heng gripped the amulet tightly, then relaxed a little.
Ten amulets: two in your pocket, two in your underwear, two around your neck, two on your bed curtains, one on your forehead, and one in your hand.
As the night deepened, he couldn't stay awake any longer and fell asleep.
"Ji Heng, Ji Heng, wake up! It's 7:50!!"
Ji Heng suddenly opened his eyes, saw his roommate next to him, and finally woke up.
"Holy crap! I'm going to be late!"
Wen Chengzhou was carrying two schoolbags. "Ji Heng, hurry up, I've prepared the books you need for this morning."
"Thanks."
Ji Heng threw on some clothes, hastily washed his face, and dragged Wen Chengzhou out of the dormitory building.
"Hurry up and run! Roll call is at 8 a.m. If the teacher finds out we're late, we'll lose at least three points from our participation grade."
The two rushed to the teaching building and arrived at the classroom at the last minute.
When they arrived, only the first three rows had empty seats; the seats behind were all packed with people.
Ji Hengsheng sat at the very front, feeling utterly hopeless.
He was a poor student, sitting right under the teacher's nose, constantly worried that the teacher would call on him.
Ji Heng wiped his face. "Wen Chengzhou, I'm sorry, I've dragged you into this."
Wen Chengzhou shook his head. "I'm used to sitting in the first row."
Ji Heng patted him on the shoulder, "I almost forgot, you're a top student."
Wen Chengzhou was not only the class monitor but also the student council president. He consistently ranked first in the history department, a stark contrast to Wen Chengzhou, who was a slacker who just coasted through his studies.
With him by his side, Ji Heng didn't have to worry about not being able to answer the teacher's questions.
Ji Heng rubbed his stomach. "I'm so hungry. Heavens, why are there four classes this morning?"
Wen Chengzhou took out a bottle of milk and a bag of bread from his bag. "Ji Heng, have something to eat first."
Ji Heng's eyes lit up when he saw the food. "Wen Chengzhou, you're my savior! I'll treat you to lunch."
Wen Chengzhou smiled and said, "Okay."
After a long day of classes, Ji Heng was fully recharged. "I'm free now. Shall we duo queue tonight?"
Wen Chengzhou pushed up his glasses. "Ji Heng, don't forget that our Paranormal Society has club activities."
"Oh, right." Ji Heng patted his head.
There were many clubs in the university. At the time, he found the Paranormal Club to be a novelty, and since Wen Chengzhou was the president, he joined it.
After finishing their meal, the two went to the paranormal society together.
A large group of people were gathered together, muttering to themselves, holding pens and doing something that was unclear.
Ji Heng glanced at them a few times. "What are those four people doing, sitting in a circle?"
Zhang Zhitao waved, "You two are here. We're here to play with the Ouija board today."
Wen Chengzhou readily agreed, "Sure, that sounds interesting."
Ji Heng recalled the days when his soul left his body and shook his head vigorously, "No, I don't want to play strange games. If I encounter a ghost, I'm doomed."
"Ha! Young Master Ji, if you're so fragile, why are you even going to school? Wouldn't it be better to stay home and have a hundred or two hundred bodyguards protecting you?"
Ji Heng rolled his eyes. "Zhou Junjie, you have no right to interfere in my business."
Zhou Junjie, with his nose in the air, said, "Oh dear, young master, you're angry. I was just trying to be helpful so you wouldn't fall and hurt yourself, and your mother would cry her eyes out."
Ji Heng couldn't take it anymore and grabbed his collar. "Zhou Junjie, are you out of your mind? Do you think I wouldn't dare to hit you?"
Zhou Junjie and he had never gotten along since childhood, and every time they met, Zhou Junjie would make sarcastic remarks to him.
If Zhou Junjie's father hadn't donated several buildings to the school, he wouldn't have been able to appear at University A.
Ji Heng raised his fist, but Wen Chengzhou quickly stopped him, saying, "We're classmates and roommates, so don't fight or resort to violence."
Ji Heng and Zhou Junjie were both unwilling to give in, and neither of them would let go of the other.
Wen Chengzhou sighed helplessly, "Ji Heng, give me some face."
Ji Heng pushed Zhou Junjie away, "For your sake, I'll let this idiot go today."
Seeing this, Zhang Zhitao quickly changed the subject, "Alright, alright, the Paranormal Society rarely holds a club activity, let's play some games."
Zhou Junjie was the first to raise his hand, "I'll participate, unlike some cowards who just hide in the back and cry."
Ji Heng's anger surged, "I'll join too."
Zhou Junjie gave him a provocative look, "Dare to play at midnight?"
"ill!"
Remembering Lin Xi's words, Ji Heng pulled Wen Chengzhou outside, saying, "Being around with some lunatics makes even the air feel toxic."
Wen Chengzhou spoke up: "Wait, Ji Heng, I'm the president, I can't leave. If you want to go back and rest, go back first."
Ji Heng stopped in his tracks.
Wen Chengzhou was his best friend at University A, and he couldn't let his friend be in a difficult position.
That idiot Zhou Junjie, it would be terrible if Wen Chengzhou got into danger because of him.
Ji Heng returned again, "Let's play then, who's afraid of who!"
Zhou Junjie said sarcastically, "Some people will wet their pants in fear later, so don't cry."
Seeing that another argument was about to break out, Zhang Zhitao quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "Come on, let's play a game."
Turn off the lights, light four candles, and spread a sheet of white paper on the table.
Two words were written on the white paper: Yes, No.
The four people formed a circle, their left and right hands overlapping, gently holding a pen.
Wen Chengzhou slowly said, "Past life follows past life, present life meets present life. Ouija board spirit, if you wish to continue your fate with me, please draw a circle on the paper."
The pen, held perpendicular to the table, moved and slowly drew a neat circle on the paper.
Zhou Junjie was overjoyed, "The Ouija board spirit, the Ouija board spirit has really come!"
