"Ghostly Path?!" Ji Heng trembled. "Boss, you must be joking."
Last time I rode a ghost car, I encountered a disabled ghost without hands or feet who drove with his tongue. It was extremely dangerous the whole way.
He's driving himself this time; what if he runs into a ghost?
How many years is the sentence for killing a ghost in a hit-and-run accident?
It was pitch black all around; as far as the eye could see, there was only darkness, and the headlights on the car couldn't illuminate the road ahead.
Ji Heng slowed down, his voice trembling, "Boss, I can't see the road."
"It's okay," Lin Xi said calmly. "Just drive as you feel, and whatever you do, don't stop."
"Hmm?" Ji Heng trembled even more violently; something bad was bound to happen if he stopped the car.
He slammed on the gas, and the silver BMW shot into the darkness like an arrow.
With a snap, the car lights went out.
Ji Heng screamed, "Boss, I can't see anything at all!"
Lin Xi yawned. "These naughty kids are just being mischievous. You don't need to worry about them. Just keep driving, and they'll automatically move aside."
Ji Heng closed his eyes, felt the car's movement, and drove blindly for a while.
Not far away, streaks of light, like twinkling stars, were drifting through the air.
Ji Heng quietly opened his eyes. "We're out?"
Lin Xi looked out the window. "That's will-o'-the-wisp."
Countless balls of blue and white flame flew toward the car, swirling around them as if they were dancing.
Ji Heng, not understanding, asked, "What does the will-o'-the-wisp want to do?"
Lin Xi explained simply, "A human vehicle appeared in the ghost realm; they were just curious. The will-o'-the-wisp is harmless, so don't tremble and hurry home."
Ji Heng swallowed hard. "Okay, boss."
He desperately tried to convince himself that this wasn't the path of demons, but rather the path of humanity...
The silver-white vehicle broke through the encirclement of will-o'-the-wisps and gradually disappeared.
A group of will-o'-the-wisps gathered together to discuss.
"There are living people!"
"Why would a living person trespass into the ghost realm? Should we follow them and see?"
"That woman is unusual. We shouldn't rush up to her. We should report to Lord Wuchang."
"Good idea."
The will-o'-the-wisps lined up and flew towards a certain place in the underworld.
At this moment, Ji Heng slammed on the gas pedal, shouting, "Boss, a ghost is chasing us!"
A silver-white BMW was running ahead, with a dense swarm of ghosts chasing behind.
Ghosts of all shapes and sizes are there: some with heads but no feet, some with feet but no heads, rectangular, square, round...
Ji Heng dared not look. "I finally get to drive, and I end up in the Ghost Path. Why am I so unlucky?"
Lin Xi remained calm. "They're just kids. Stay calm and we'll get out of here soon. With me here, they won't dare to come near us."
Ji Heng immediately gained confidence.
With the big boss around, there's nothing to fear.
He yelled as he drove, "Aaaaaah!!"
At the edge of darkness, figures moved about, vehicles flowed, and humanity beckoned to him.
Ji Heng was extremely excited, "Ten seconds left!"
He counted silently in his mind, nine, eight, seven...
At the last second, two figures appeared in front of the car, one in black and one in white, their faces obscured.
Ji Heng was startled. "Holy crap! I've seen a ghost!"
The white figure gently raised his hand, and the car stopped instantly, generating tremendous inertial force.
Bang--!
Ji Heng leaned forward and his head slammed against the steering wheel, causing a large bump to form.
He cried out in anguish, "It's over, I'm going to the hospital to be with Fugui."
Ji Heng leaned on the steering wheel, squinting at the shadow in front of the car, a chill creeping into his heart.
"Boss, who is this?"
Lin Xi sat quietly in the back seat and calmly uttered four words, "Black and White Impermanence".
"Huh?!" Ji Heng's jaw dropped in shock, and saliva dripped from the corner of his mouth onto the steering wheel.
Unexpectedly, instead of being caught by the police in the mortal world, he was caught by the grim reapers in the underworld.
Ji Heng didn't care about anything else. He unbuckled his seatbelt and climbed into the back seat. "Boss, have I been arrested? Do I have to pay a fine or go to jail? Will I get torn apart by ghosts if I go to jail in the underworld?"
Lin Xi glanced at him. "It's useless. What are you afraid of?"
She grabbed Ji Heng by the collar, opened the door, and got out of the car.
Ji Heng trembled uncontrollably. "Boss, what are you going to do?"
"Let's talk things out face to face." Lin Xi let go of his hand and walked to the car.
The Black and White Impermanence wear robes, masks, and tall hats, and carry soul-catching chains in their hands.
The two ghosts were dressed identically, but in opposite colors.
Legend has it that Black Impermanence is named Fan Wujiu, and White Impermanence is named Xie Bi'an; one is cold-faced but warm-hearted, and the other is warm-faced but cold-hearted.
Lin Xi asked, "Black Impermanence, White Impermanence, you..."
Before he could finish speaking, Bai Wuchang turned around and took a dozen steps back. His back looked extremely flustered, as if a ghost king was chasing him.
Ji Heng was shocked. "Why did this brother leave?"
Black Impermanence was equally surprised, "Brother Xie, why are you running?"
A rough voice came from behind, "I have a soul but no restraint. I'll go first, bye-bye."
The White Impermanence ran incredibly fast and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Black Impermanence sighed helplessly.
What's this guy up to now? He's deliberately lowering his voice and sneaking away.
Doesn't he want to be recognized?
Black Impermanence sized up the little girl in front of him.
Uh-huh!!
He was actually a little scared.
Fortunately, he was wearing a mask, which concealed all changes in his expression.
Lin Xi asked, "Black Impermanence, your partner has run away. Is there anything else?"
Black Impermanence patted his head and said in a serious tone, "Your car is going too fast, violating the Ghost Path Traffic Law. I have received many complaints."
Humans have their own way of life, and ghosts have their own way of life.
Generally, only people who are about to die would mistakenly enter the ghost realm. It is very strange that a person and a vehicle were speeding wildly in the ghost realm.
He and Xie Bi'an rushed over immediately, only to find that it was two young people.
