Chapter 293 The Missing College Student

Lin Xi smiled and said, "Yun Yan, it's you."

Yun Yan nodded slightly, "Little Grandmaster, it's been a long time."

He introduced the person next to him, "This is Senior Brother Ling Xiao, a disciple of Martial Uncle Xu Yuan."

Ling Xiao yawned repeatedly, looking utterly listless.

"This junior greets the junior grandmaster."

Lin Xi had seen him a few times when she was a child.

Ling Xiao was the only person in Yuanqing Temple who dared to challenge her.

The two used to fight often, but she always ended up beating Ling Xiao.

He punched him left and right, leaving him with a bruised and swollen face.

"Are you convinced now? Call me Junior Grandmaster and let me hear it."

"I don't accept it! I don't accept it! Why are you the junior grandmaster? I'm clearly older than you."

Every time Ling Xiao gets beaten up, he recovers and then gets into another fight, only to be beaten up again.

Yun Yan stood aside trying to mediate, saying, "Senior Brother Ling Xiao, you should surrender quickly, and the Junior Grandmaster won't hit you. The Junior Grandmaster is a very kind person."

Ling Xiao yelled, "Yun Yan, are you blind? She's not good at all! She even hit Master Jingyuan!"

Lin Xi clenched her fist, "You dare to insult Yun Yan? You're finished!!"

"Aaaaah!" Ling Xiao screamed like a pig being slaughtered, "Junior Brother Yun, hurry and go find Master to save me!!"

Yun Yan silently pressed down on his foot, reminding him in a childish voice, "Little Grandmaster, don't kill him."

After this injury, Ling Xiao was bedridden for three months and no longer had the strength to fight.

I never imagined that he would become so weak more than a decade later.

Lin Xi put her hands behind her back and gave a light "hmm," saying, "Now that you're all grown up, you call me 'Little Grandmaster' very naturally."

Ling Xiao felt a little embarrassed as he recalled what happened back then.

He suffered five defeats in five battles against his junior master, and his Dao heart was almost shattered.

Ling Xiao scratched his head. "Little Grandmaster, you remember when I was young and didn't know any better?"

"It left a deep impression on me." Lin Xi glanced at him. "You guys came to investigate the haunted house?"

Ling Xiao yawned, his eyelids drooping. "Junior Brother Yun, you go ahead and talk. I'm going to take a nap first."

Yun Yan explained simply, "Grandmaster, this is what happened. I was escorting Master back to Yuanqing Temple when I met Senior Brother Ling here..."

Yasukawa is special; the Special Administration Bureau did not set up a branch office there because there is a Yuanqing Temple on the mountain, and the Taoist priests there can exorcise demons and monsters.

Due to a shortage of manpower, the Special Administration Bureau signed an agreement with Yuanqing Temple, under which the Taoist priests would manage Anchuan.

Senior Brother Lingxiao is responsible for monitoring various places at the foot of the mountain. Any issues he can't handle, he reports to the Special Administration Bureau.

For hundreds of years, very few paranormal events have occurred in Yasukawa. With the Yuanqing Temple guarding the area, it is rare to see demons or monsters.

Yasukawa is a well-known safe city, but a strange thing happened a few days ago.

Four college students have mysteriously disappeared.

Senior Brother Lingxiao investigated for a long time, but couldn't find a trace of Yin energy.

Four college students vanished into thin air in a haunted house, as if they had evaporated, which was definitely not the work of human beings.

This incident was classified as a paranormal event.

Yun Yan happened to be in Anchuan, so he stayed to investigate together, and eventually they found out about the haunted house.

Yun Yan said, "We've come to the haunted house to investigate the disappearance of four college students."

Lin Xi remembered that Yuanqing Temple was located halfway up the mountain.

No wonder it felt familiar; she had visited several times when she was four years old, and the place had changed drastically in the past ten years.

Yunyan asked, "Master, senior uncles and senior masters are all on the mountain. What brings Junior Grandmaster to the haunted house?"

Lin Xi said calmly, "I accepted a commission. Our goal is the same: to rescue three unlucky guys. Oh no, it should be four. Who's the college student?"

Yun Yan frowned. "The surveillance cameras didn't capture any photos. This person's behavior is strange, unlike the other three college students."

Ling Xiao rubbed his eyes. "They're all Chinese. I just rescued them on the side. Who cares who they are?"

His gaze fell on Ji Heng. "And who is this?"

Ji Heng raised his head and puffed out his chest, solemnly introducing himself, "I am the number one underling under the big boss."

Ling Xiao misunderstood, thinking he was the disciple of the junior master.

This young man doesn't seem very bright. Why did the junior master take him as a disciple? Does he have some extraordinary talent?

Ling Xiao politely extended a hand, "Little Grandmaster, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Ji Heng quickly denied it, "No, no, no, I'm not, I'm just a handyman."

Ling Xiao lowered his hand, his tone languid, "Why didn't you say so earlier? You're wasting my feelings."

Ji Heng hid behind the big boss, looking somewhat aggrieved.

Lin Xi pulled him out and said, "Stand still, let's go."

Ji Heng pursed his lips, "Oh."

The big boss has no apprentices; he only has one person by his side.

In fact, there is no difference between a younger brother and a disciple.

The big boss didn't deny that he was the number one underling... not denying it means he agreed.

Hehe, Fugui lost terribly.

Ji Heng cheered up again and skipped along behind.

The ticket booth girl was very diligent in promoting her ticket: "Handsome guys and beautiful ladies, the haunted house day trip is on a steal! Buy your tickets now, not 98, not 88, only 28..."

Yun Yan tapped on the table. "Where's the boss?"

The young woman smiled brightly, "I'm the boss. Do the four of you need to buy tickets? I'll give you a discount to round it up to eighty."

Yun Yan took out his identification. "Please cooperate with the investigation."

The young woman's face instantly fell. "Damn! You're so handsome and you're a cop! Another investigation? When will this end? My haunted house is going to go out of business."

She waved her hand and sighed helplessly, "You guys go ahead, I'll pack up and go back to my hometown."

After receiving a reply, Yun Yan pushed open the door and walked straight in.

The haunted house was dimly lit, with ketchup smeared all over the walls and skull models piled on the floor. The props were extremely realistic, creating a terrifying atmosphere.

The group continued walking inside, and Lin Xi stopped at the last room. She pulled the door open and locked it.
