Chapter 405 Standing Punishment

Jiang Ji patted his chest. "Big brother, why are you standing in the dark pretending to be so profound? You almost scared me to death."

Jiang Ting raised his eyes, his gaze icy. "What did I say during the day?"

“Um…” Jiang Ji stammered.

During the day, it seems my older brother punished him by making him copy the Tao Te Ching.

Damn it, I've forgotten everything.

Jiang Ji retreated, cleverly hiding behind Lin Xi, crying out, "Sister, help me!"

Lin Xi cleared her throat, but hadn't spoken yet.

The man pushed open the door and left, his voice a little hoarse.

"Come in, all of you!"

Jiang Ji felt a surge of tension. "Our eldest brother has found out. Going in will definitely not end well."

He slapped his underling's shoulder hard, "You're experienced, think of something quickly, Jiang Chi! Jiang Chi!!"

Jiang Chi waved his hand away and walked straight to the gate, his tone lazy and nonchalant, "Big brother won't do anything to us. At worst, we'll kneel in the ancestral hall for three days."

"Hey kid, stop right there!"

Jiang Ji quickly caught up and said in a low voice, "We don't care about each other, but my sister is here."

Jiang Chi paused slightly, thinking seriously about the problem. He shouted to the back, "Put all the blame on me later. Big Brother is already used to me climbing over the wall to escape."

Jiang Ji nodded, "It's all my brother's fault, we were fooled by him... Oh! Why are you pinching me?"

Jiang Chi looked at him with a half-smile, his words carrying a hint of threat, "Second Brother, are you sure?"

"Good brothers share weal and woe. Your second brother will kneel with you in the ancestral hall. There's no way I'd abandon you and run away."

Jiang Ji would never admit that it was because he was a coward.

Before his younger sister came back, he was afraid of his older brother and his younger brother, and he is still afraid of them now.

This family is at the bottom of the food chain.

Jiang Jisheng walked inside with a sense of despair, and as soon as he entered, he grabbed Jiang Ting's arm and apologized frantically.

"Big brother, I'm sorry, it's all my and my little brother's fault. Please don't blame my sister, she just got back."

The once clean and tidy shirt was now wrinkled, and Jiang Ting's tone was somewhat disdainful.

"Stand still."

"oh."

Jiang Ji retreated to a corner, like a quail.

Jiang Chi, hands in his pockets, with his usual smug expression, said, "Big brother, punish me as you please."

Jiang Ting pinched the bridge of his nose, "You guys..."

Lin Xi hesitated for a moment before defending the walking group, "We didn't do anything, we just took a walk."

I overheard some gossip, killed a puppy, destroyed a strange statue, rescued a mysterious woman, and set off two smoke bombs.

Jiang Ting's brow twitched slightly, but his amber eyes remained devoid of any emotion.

He said indifferently, "Go upstairs to sleep."

"Okay, brother."

Jiang Ji tiptoed along the wall, a smile involuntarily creeping onto his face.

I'm so happy that my older brother let him go.

Before he could even feel happy for a second, Jiang Ting gave him a cold look and said, "I didn't call you, go back to your place."

Jiang Ji's smile vanished, and she obediently ran back.

Jiang Chi mocked without any politeness, "Silly second brother, you're just being presumptuous. You got kicked out by your eldest brother, didn't you?"

Jiang Ji stuck out her tongue. "Hmph, what's it to you?"

Jiang Chi slightly raised his chin and looked up at the ceiling.

Jiang Ting glanced at him as well.

Jiang Chi stopped laughing and stood up straight.

The two brothers leaned against the wall, heads bowed, accepting their scolding.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward, and Lin Xi said softly, "I..."

Jiang Ting didn't turn around. "Go up."

Lin Xi quietly went upstairs, closed the door, and went to sleep.

The Walking Alliance is hereby disbanded. Sleeping is the most important thing, nothing else matters. Goodbye!

Jiang Ting lowered his eyelids to hide the slight ripples in his heart, and when he raised his head, he was as indifferent as ever.

...

early morning.

Lin Xi came downstairs and asked in surprise, "Why are you sleeping in the living room?"

Jiang Ji and Jiang Chi each sat on a small sofa, covered with a thin blanket.

Hearing the noise, Jiang Chi sat up abruptly, his bangs flying wildly across his forehead like a bristling hedgehog.

Lin Xi couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Hahaha."

"Oh, it's you, sister."

The boy had just woken up; his voice was soft and gentle, with a hint of obedience.

Lin Xi teased him, "Say it again and let me hear it."

Jiang Chi regained some consciousness, pulled the blanket over his head, and his ears turned red.

He rolled over and then rolled back over, making eight hundred movements per second.

Wait, he was punished by his older brother to stand in the corner last night. He and his second brother were lying on the sofa at three in the morning. Where would they have gotten a blanket?

Jiang Chi was fully awake and yawned three times in a row. "What time is it? Where's my brother?"

Lin Xi countered, "What happened last night?"

Jiang Chi focused on the key point and explained, "My eldest brother was very angry when he found out we went to Grandpa's main garden."

"Yes, big brother has double standards."

Jiang Ji muttered something to himself and continued to snore.

Lin Xi twitched the corners of her mouth, recalling her several meetings with Jiang Ting, whose attitude was very strange.

Always expressionless, yet behaving in the complete opposite way.

Jiang Ting didn't doubt her identity. Yesterday, he kicked his uncles out, didn't scold her at all last night, and even left her a room at home...

In Jiang Ji's memory, Jiang Ting believed she was dead, but he was not surprised at all to see his living sister.

I don't understand what this guy is thinking.

Lin Xi bit her lower lip.

The man came downstairs, straightening his cuffs as he sized up the group, his brows slightly furrowed.

"Get up and come with me."

Jiang Chi asked, "Now?"

Jiang Ting's face darkened, and his delicate cuffs gleamed coldly. "Last night, someone disturbed the peace of the main courtyard. Grandpa notified everyone to go there early this morning."

Jiang Chi dared not ask any more questions.

The main garden was in chaos last night, and the smoke bomb he threw added fuel to the fire.

Jiang Ting casually ordered, "Wake him up."

Jiang Chi pulled back the blanket next door and shook Jiang Ji's head vigorously, "Second Brother, wake up."
