Chapter 409 The Mysterious Man in Red

Two people appeared at the door, one tall and one short.

He was wearing a bright red cloak, with a wide hood covering half of his face, revealing only his pointed chin.

The short man held a flute to his lips.

The deep, melodious sound of a flute resonated throughout the room.

Apart from Grandpa Jiang and the three people beside Lin Xi, everyone else present remained motionless, their eyes glazed over.

The amulet emitted a dazzling golden light, blocking the sound of the flute.

Jiang Ji patted his chest, "I was terrified. Luckily, my sister's talisman saved my life."

Today was so exciting, with endless reversals in just a few minutes.

First, the younger sister said that Grandpa would die, then the eldest brother was scolded by Grandpa, then the second aunt wanted to kill Grandpa, and finally a mysterious person appeared.

Something's not right with the Jiang family.

Jiang Ji was confused. "Who is this person? What is his relationship with the Jiang family?"

Jiang Chi looked up and lazily glanced at the person. "That pretentious fellow must be the divine messenger Grandpa was talking about. He's wearing a red cloth and thinks he's a god."

Jiang Ji seemed to understand, but not quite. "That makes sense."

Jiang Ting ignored the mysterious man in red, his gaze sweeping over his younger siblings before settling on the glowing yellow paper.

Neither of the two younger brothers was surprised; they clearly saw each other frequently.

My sister... is completely different now.

Lin Xi stared ahead and noticed a familiar scent; she should have seen it before.

Since you're here, don't leave!

The flute music gradually stopped, and the short man at the head of the group stepped in, his voice old and hoarse.

"You are not allowed to move!"

Old Master Jiang was in a frenzy, shouting, "Hahaha, the divine messenger has arrived! You will all die!!"

"Quickly, untie the chains."

Jiang Congtao was conscious and gripped the dagger with all her might, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move it.

The dagger hung in mid-air, neither up nor down.

It was just a tiny bit more, just a tiny bit more.

He must die today!

Old Master Jiang shouted, "Divine messenger, hurry!"

The short man said coldly, "If you dare to harm our men, you will never be able to reincarnate."

He hunched over and slowly walked upwards.

The tall man took a step back, ready to watch the show.

Jiang Congtao remained unusually calm.

There's only one way now: wait for the so-called divine messenger to get close, and then slit the old man's throat with a single stroke.

It doesn't matter what happens to her.

Jiang Congtao concentrated, staring intently at the man in red, waiting for his only chance.

The short man was full of confidence, didn't even glance at anyone else, and swaggered through the crowd.

The flute bestowed by the idol is so powerful that no one can resist it, and everyone is at its mercy.

The short man raised his flute, his tone full of disdain and contempt, "On my command, all of you kneel down!!"

The Jiang family members knelt down one after another like puppets, their foreheads touching the ground.

"Very good, you are all good children."

The short man was enjoying the worship of others when he caught a glimpse of four people standing up out of the corner of his eye, and paused for a moment.

He shouted angrily, "Children who don't kneel will be punished, hahaha!!"

Jiang Ji retorted, "Kneel to your mother! You coward who doesn't even dare to show your face are acting like some kind of god."

The short man, his eyes blazing with fury, gritted his teeth and said, "I admire your courage, accept your punishment!!"

He raised his flute, his eyes fierce.

Jiang Ji covered his ears and skillfully asked for help.

"Little sister, he's bullying me! Help!"

Lin Xi rushed forward and snatched the bright red flute. "Let me see what kind of devil is hidden inside?"

She moved so fast that the short man didn't even have time to react before the divinely bestowed weapon was gone.

He stamped his foot in frustration, yelling, "Give it back to me!!"

Lin Xi noticed the material of the flute and her expression was full of disdain.

This thing was made from a child's leg bone and then soaked in corpse water for a full forty-nine days.

Her hands were dirty.

Lin Xi grabbed her flute and smacked the short man on the head. "Tell me honestly, whose bones were used to make it? And who exactly is this god?"

"Ahhh!!"

Without the flute, the short man was powerless to fight back, weaker than an average person, and was beaten unilaterally.

During the beating, his red hat fell off, revealing a wrinkled face that looked at least ninety years old.

Jiang Chi recognized the face and quickly reminded him, "He's Grandpa's cousin, who died ten years ago."

Lin Xi glanced at it and understood, "What's the point of living if you use evil magic to forcibly retain a soul and lock it in an aging body?"

"You should have died long ago."

The short man retorted loudly, "No, I won't die! God won't let me die!"

The next second, they were proven wrong.

The short man choked him, his eyes bulging out, and he fell to the ground dead.

The corpse decomposed extremely quickly, turning into a grim skeleton in five seconds.

Strangely, the soul disappeared.

When a normal person dies, their soul remains beside the body, waiting for the underworld messengers to take it there.

Lin Xi observed carefully and found no trace of a soul.

The short man died, and when the others regained consciousness, they saw the white bones on the ground and kept backing away.

"Aaaaaah!! Someone's dead!"

"Ahhh, stop!"

Two screams rang out at the same time. Jiang Congtao seized the opportunity and ended the old man's life with a single blow.

The long-standing grudge has finally been avenged.

Jiang Congtao collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down her face.

Why is she crying?

it's all over.

The scene was chaotic, with screams erupting everywhere.

"The old man is dead, ah—!"

Lin Xi snapped, "Shut up! Put your hands behind your head and squat in the corner!"

The Jiang family members instinctively obeyed the order and crowded into a corner.

Lin Xi's expression was solemn. The old man's soul had also vanished, leaving him lifeless, just like the short man.

The remaining man in red must be captured.
