Chapter 5 Little Elf

Linxi followed the divination and headed south, but the further he went, the more remote the place became.

She walked through the familiar graveyard and entered a gloomy forest.

Lin Xi looked around, but there was no one in sight.

When the wind blows, the leaves rustle.

The trees here are more lush than elsewhere, with layers upon layers of leaves.

Is her good fortune really here?

Lin Xi touched the bracelet on her left wrist. "Xiao Jin, go inside and take a look."

"Yes, Master."

A beam of white light shot from Lin Xi's wrist to the ground, slowly transforming into a small paper figure.

The paper figure is dressed in white, with bangs and a bowl cut, and two large red blushes on its cheeks.

Little Gold grinned and said, "Master, I'm leaving."

Lin Xi nodded, "Go quickly and come back quickly."

"Okay." Little Gold floated into the woods.

The remaining paper figures kept making a fuss.

"Master, Master, I want to go too."

"Master, I want to go too."

"Master, Master..."

Lin Xi patted the bracelet, "Little Wood, Little Water, Little Fire, don't make a sound."

The three little paper figures quieted down.

Lin Xi casually found a place to rest.

When she was a child, her master was often away from the Taoist temple, and she was extremely bored, so she cut out a few small paper figures to keep herself company.

Later, she followed her master down the mountain to catch ghosts and encountered four little elves.

Xiao Jin was a spirit from a mine. When the mine was taken over, he had nowhere to go, so he followed Lin Xi.

Xiao Mu, Xiao Shui, Xiao Huo, and Xiao Jin were in similar situations; they all followed Lin Xi in their cultivation.

Lin Xi gently comforted the three little paper figures, "When I make a lot of money, I'll make you some nice clothes."

"Wow, thank you, Master!" Xiao Shui was very happy and twirled her wrist.

"Thank you, Master."

"Little Fire thanks Master too."

Lin Xi looked at the three little paper figures, a faint smile appearing on her face.

Fortunately, she had the little paper doll with her.

A moment later, Xiao Jin sent a signal: there really was an unlucky guy in the dark woods.

Lin Xi got up and went to find Xiao Jin.

At this moment, Xiao Jin squatted in the grass, waiting for his owner to come over, his eyes fixed on the front.

A male ghost was clutching his buttocks and howling, "Great Immortal, please, let me go home. I can't beat you, and my mother will be worried to death if I don't go back."

Beside them, a wisp of yellowish-brown mist bounced around, saying, "No, no, you can't leave. If you leave, who will play games with me?"

"Hurry up, it's your turn to be the ghost. If you catch me this time, I'll let you go back."

The male ghost chuckled twice, "You, a lump of yellowish-brown ghost, I could never catch you even if I died."

"You insulted me! You actually insulted me!"

The yellowish-brown clouds were angry, turning even yellower, and their voices trembled with tears, "We are no longer friends."

The male ghost, in a fit of despair, asked, "When did we become friends?"

"Waaaaah...you big liar."

The yellowish-brown cloud carried the male ghost away and floated inside, just in time to bump into Little Gold in the haystack.

Xiao Jin gave them a polite smile and greeted them, "Hello, my name is Xiao Jin."

For a moment, the clouds and the male ghost were terrified.

Clouds and Mist: "Aaaaah! A monster!"

Male ghost: "Aaaaaah! A ghost!!"

Two screams rang out in quick succession. Xiao Jin touched his face. Was he really that scary?

My master once said that a smile can heal everything.

Xiao Jin's smile grew even brighter.

The male ghost Ji Heng was terrified.

In the dead of night, a paper figure, pale all over with golden eyes and a pot-lid-shaped head, revealed a sinister smile.

Upon seeing him, the eerie paper figure laughed even more excitedly, revealing eight pearly white teeth.

Ji Heng's hair stood on end.

There are unidentified paper figures in front, and yellowish-brown clouds behind.

The small, pitiful boy hugged himself tightly, letting out a sharp, piercing scream, "Mommy!!"

The yellowish-brown clouds hugged themselves tightly, trembling as they asked, "What...what are you?!"

Little Gold blinked its big eyes. "I am Master's Little Gold."

The yellowish-brown clouds asked, "What is the master?"

Xiao Jin replied, "The master is the master."

The yellowish-brown mist seemed a little angry. "Who exactly are you?"

"I am Master's Little Gold."

"Who is the master?"

"The master is the master."

Ji Heng's lips twitched. These two things combined are definitely no more than three years old.

While the paper figures and clouds were arguing, he slowly moved backward, looking for an opportunity to escape.

Almost there, almost there.

Ji Heng turned and jumped, rushing desperately in one direction.

Mom, your son is finally free.

Xiao Jin's eyes narrowed. "That male ghost escaped!!"

The yellowish-brown mist was infuriating. "It's all your fault, you lousy paper figure."

Xiao Jin slapped him to the ground and chased after him.

Ji Heng dared not look back and charged forward with all his might.

A light grew closer in the distance, and he waved frantically, shouting, "Help!!!"

A similarly pale face appeared in front of them, with a faint trace of blood at the corner of its mouth.

That face stared at him expressionlessly.

Ji Heng gasped, "Holy crap! A female ghost!"

How unlucky! I encountered three strange things last night.

Ji Heng's legs went weak, and he cried as he gave his last words, "Mom, your son is unfilial. I can't take care of you in your old age and see you off in your final days. I have to make you suffer the pain of a white-haired person burying a black-haired person. Your son is unfilial!"

"Waaaaah... Sis, remember to bury my computer and my body together with my body after I die, and all the figurines in my room too..."

Lin Xi gave him a strange look.
