Chapter 402 The Rules of the Jiang Family

Jiang Ting changed into a suit, buttoning the top metal button all the way up. His handsome face remained expressionless, and standing next to him exuded a strong sense of oppression.

Jiang Ji shrank back. "Big brother, my sister just got back. Don't turn on the air conditioning and scare her."

Jiang Ting didn't even glance at him, turned around and walked towards the dining room, "The food is ready, let's eat."

"Hehe, my older brother is ignoring me again."

Jiang Ji stuck out his tongue and made a face.

Lin Xi patted him on the shoulder, "Keep up."

Jiang Ji straightened his back and smiled brightly, "My sister is still the best to me."

The dining table was laden with all sorts of delicious food. Jiang Ting sat in the head seat and gently tapped the table.

"We're missing one person."

Jiang Ji complained, "Big brother, I stayed up all night playing tricks again, and now I'm fast asleep upstairs."

Jiang Ting looked at the servant beside him and said, "Tell him to come down."

"Okay, Mr. Jiang."

The maid acknowledged and quickly went out.

Lin Xi stopped her, saying, "Don't wake Jiang Chi. He's probably sleeping and just started to feel sleepy. He's in a really bad mood because he was woken up."

Jiang Ji nodded, "My sister is right."

He realized what he had said and quickly tried to make amends, saying, "I'm in great shape, I can go three days and three nights without sleeping."

The maid stopped, hesitating. "Mr. Jiang, should we still call him 'Young Master'?"

Jiang Ting parted his thin lips slightly, "Never mind."

After a two-second pause, he picked up his chopsticks and said, "Let's eat."

Jiang Ji was starving; he hadn't eaten enough last night because he was too excited. With so much delicious food in front of him, he simply couldn't resist.

He picked up the bowl and chopsticks, stuffed food into his mouth, and casually picked up a piece of meat for Lin Xi.

"Sister, please eat, don't be shy."

Lin Xi took a bite, and it tasted good.

The three of them ate in different ways: Jiang Ji stuffed his mouthfuls of rice, while Lin Xi tasted a little of each dish.

Jiang Ting moved gracefully, chewing slowly and deliberately.

He glanced at Lin Xi beside him without making a sound, and a very faint smile appeared on his lips.

Lin Xi appeared to be eating, but she was actually observing everything as she ate. She suddenly looked up and said, "You're looking at me."

Jiang Ting's face was cold and stern. "What's so interesting about you?"

Jiang Ji swallowed what was in his mouth and mumbled, "My sister is the most beautiful person in the world."

Lin Xi agreed with him, "Of course I'm the most beautiful."

Jiang Ting lowered his eyelids, his fingertips trembling slightly, still maintaining his usual indifference and aloofness.

After a long silence, he asked, "When did you two meet?"

Jiang Ji exclaimed excitedly, "I recognized my sister at first glance! Not only is she alive, but she's also..."

My younger sister is a master of metaphysics, and I can't tell my older brother about her fortune-telling at the fortune-telling hall.

This was a secret between him and his younger brother.

Jiang Ji coughed lightly, his face clearly showing his lie. "Anyway, I successfully found my sister. I am the best brother in the world."

Jiang Ting remained silent.

His two younger brothers went to the fortune-telling hall, and he knew everything.

I never expected that she would come back on her own initiative.

Jiang Ting put down his chopsticks and lightly interlocked his fingers. "If you live in the Jiang family, you must abide by the Jiang family's rules."

Jiang Ji complained, "The bizarre rules set by these old fogies are like carving flowers on shit, what's the point of following them!"

Jiang Ting frowned. "Where did you learn your manners?"

Jiang Ji said sullenly, "I've learned nothing of it."

Jiang Ting's face darkened, and a chill emanated from his body. "You are not allowed to go out today. Stay at home and copy the Tao Te Ching. You are not allowed to sleep until you finish copying it."

Jiang Ji didn't dare to retort, so he stuffed his mouth with rice.

Lin Xi seemed quite interested. "Go on, I'm listening."

The Jiang family exudes an eerie rigidity, resembling a feudal clan with a narrow mind.

She was curious to hear about the so-called rules.

Jiang Ting gazed into the distance, his tone neither warm nor cold, "First, stay in the East Garden and don't run around."

Lin Xi understood. The East Garden was normal, but other places were not. She went out and wandered around, not missing a single corner.

Jiang Ting tapped the table lightly. "Second, you are not allowed to go out after 10 p.m.

Lin Xi understood again: something bad was bound to happen after 10 o'clock, making it a good time to go out and catch ghosts.

Jiang Ting: "Third, mind your own business."

Lin Xi understood again: other people's problems are her problems, and she was determined to rescue the innocent people.

Jiang Ting emphasized again, "Do you understand?"

Lin Xi gave an OK sign, "I understand perfectly."

She listened, but didn't follow the instructions.

I went out for a stroll around midnight tonight, meddling in other people's business.

Jiang Ji frantically tried to get attention, saying, "Little sister, I understand now."

"Big brother, aren't you going to work?"

Jiang Ting wiped his fingers, his aura growing even colder. "You'd better understand."

Jiang Ji grinned and said, "Hehe."

Jiang Ting ignored him, got up and left, leaving behind a cold, empty chair.

Jiang Ji rubbed his arms. "My brother is an ice block; he almost froze me to death."

Lin Xi continued eating, and then replied, "I understand how you feel."

When they first got married, her husband was also an ice block, always pretending to be deep and cold.

A domineering CEO who can't set up air conditioning isn't a good domineering CEO.

After dinner, Jiang Ji pulled her upstairs and excitedly introduced the room, "Little sister, you'll be staying here. Let me know if you need anything."

Lin Xi yawned. "No problem."

"You should rest first."

Jiang Ji left, turning back every few steps, as if afraid she would run away.

Lin Xi lay on the bed and slowly fell asleep.

In her drowsy state, she heard her phone ringing.

Ring ring—!

Lin Xi picked up her phone and held it to her ear, her voice sounding a bit sleepy, "Hello, who is it..."

"Xixi, just woke up."

Upon hearing the voice, Fu Jingyao knew that her morning grumpiness had returned.

"Sorry to disturb your rest. How did you sleep?"
