They left the realm of ghosts and entered the realm of humans.
Ji Heng became more and more skilled at driving, executing a beautiful drift and stopping the car in front of the villa.
He said weakly, "Goodnight, boss. I'm not going in. Please give my regards to my brother."
"Good night." Lin Xi opened the car door.
At the same time, the villa's door opened.
A figure rushed over at incredible speed, leaving a trail of afterimages.
Ji Heng was startled. "Holy crap! Who's this? Did a ghost get in there?"
Lin Xi looked closely and exclaimed, "Aunt Wu!"
Wu Ma has some martial arts skills.
Oh no! She's learned the real ghost dance moves; her running posture looks just like a ghost.
Aunt Wu stopped to greet her, her expression unusually excited, "Good evening, young mistress, hehe."
Lin Xi asked, "What's making you so happy?"
Wu Ma paced back and forth a few steps, her eyes full of expectation, "Young Madam, how have I changed?"
“You…” Lin Xi answered truthfully, “Your steps are still so nimble, and your running posture is very skilled.”
Aunt Wu chuckled twice, "Young Madam, you're really joking. I never run away secretly. If you and the young master need anything, you can call me anytime, hehe."
She has mastered the third level of the ghost dance, walking silently, with no presence, and moving at lightning speed.
While eating melon seeds, she would never disturb the young master and young mistress's intimacy, nor would she slip and fall on a banana peel.
This time, nothing could stop her from enjoying the gossip.
Lin Xi earnestly instructed, "Go home and get some rest, and stop overthinking."
"Thank you for your concern, young mistress." Wu Ma smiled. "I'm fine. I have a check-up every year, and I'm in excellent health."
"Then I'll be going now. The food is on the table." She lowered her voice. "You and the young master should go to bed early. Butler Liu and I are waiting for your good news, hehe."
Lin Xi was speechless.
Aunt Wu is very dedicated. She reminds them every day, afraid that they might forget. She really goes to great lengths to help them.
Aunt Wu waved, "Young Madam, see you tomorrow."
She adjusted her gait, preparing to leave.
"Wait a minute." Lin Xi glanced at the sky. "Xiao Heng, could you take Aunt Wu back to Shanshui Villa while you're at it?"
"Me?" Ji Heng pointed to himself, feeling inexplicably afraid. "If I accidentally drive into the Ghost Path again, I'll be caught by the Black and White Impermanence and thrown in jail."
Lin Xi said calmly, "This time it won't happen. It was an accident just now. Young man, be bolder."
Ji Heng's hands and feet went weak. "No, I don't dare. How about we leave first thing tomorrow morning and sleep on the floor tonight?"
Aunt Wu didn't understand. "It's just driving. You're too scared? Let me do it. I've been a driver for ten years."
Ji Heng immediately offered his seat, "Aunt Wu, please."
Wu Ma put down the cloth bag, got into the driver's seat, and fastened her seatbelt—a series of actions performed smoothly and efficiently.
She looked at the car's interior. "Young Master, you didn't drive this car before. Is it new?"
Ji Heng climbed into the passenger seat and took a moment to reply, "It's a friend's car, could you please take me home?"
Aunt Wu skillfully started the car. "We're going back to Shanshui Villa tonight. The old man and the old woman will be back tomorrow morning, so you can meet them."
"Alright then." Ji Heng didn't dare to refuse; whoever was driving was the boss.
The two of them shook their arms in unison.
"Goodbye, young mistress."
"Goodbye, boss."
Lin Xi waved, "Goodbye."
She watched the silver BMW disappear into the night before entering the villa.
Fu Jingyao leaned back on the sofa with his long legs crossed. He immediately stood up when he saw her return. "Xixi, you're back."
"Okay." Lin Xi put down her small bag. "I went to the hospital to take care of something today, so I came back a little late."
Fu Jingyao naturally took her hand and asked, "Are you tired?"
Lin Xi shook her head, "I'm not tired, I didn't even get into a fight."
Fu Jingyao then asked, "Are you hungry? Let's go eat."
"I'm not hungry." Lin Xi licked her lips. "I ate a lot of chicken legs."
Glug glug—!
Her stomach growled a few times at an inopportune moment, and she felt a little embarrassed. "I need to go to the toilet."
Fu Jingyao: "Go ahead, I'll wait for you."
Lin Xi rushed into the bathroom.
I took a sip of iced cola and a bite of hot fried chicken, and my stomach felt bloated and I didn't feel very comfortable.
After a while, she walked into the restaurant, where the delicious aroma of food wafted towards her.
Lin Xi couldn't help but sigh, "Wu Ma's cooking is still the best. Although the food outside is delicious, you get tired of it after eating it once. Wu Ma's cooking skills are top-notch."
Fu Jingyao ladled out a bowl of corn and pork rib soup. "Aunt Wu participated in a cooking competition in her younger days and won first prize."
"Aunt Wu is a real talent." Lin Xi took a sip of hot soup, and her fatigue instantly disappeared.
It's salty with a hint of sweetness, and incredibly flavorful.
There were more than a dozen dishes on the table, half Western and half Chinese, with seafood, meat and vegetables, all in a balanced way.
Unfortunately, Lin Xi was already full and could only drink some soup.
So much food shouldn't go to waste, she flicked her wrist to release the little sprites, letting them take care of it.
Since we got the little elf, there are no more leftovers at home, and we finish every meal.
Five little paper figures lined up and shouted in unison, "Master, Master's treasure, good evening."
Lin Xi rubbed her stomach. "I'm full. You guys can take care of these."
Little Earth raised its hand, "Master, I guarantee I'll complete the mission. I can eat the most."
Not to be outdone, Little Fire declared, "I can eat the most!"
Little Water, naturally defiant of the afro, declared, "Master, I'm the most voracious little sprite!"
Xiao Jin tried to mediate, saying, "Stop arguing."
Xiao Mu, being more mature, quietly picked up a piece of ribbonfish and took a sip of bird's nest soup.
The little water, the little fire, and the little earth kept arguing.
Xiao Shui: "Water embraces all things."
Little Fire: "Fire burns everything."
Little Earth: "The earth gives birth to all things. Without me, there would be nothing else, so you should call me Mother Earth."
