Seeing his silence, Lin Xi moved a little closer. "Fu Jingyao, do you know what this thing is?"
Fu Jingyao closed his eyes briefly, suppressing his surprise. He lay stiffly on the bed, completely afraid to move.
Lin Xi poked his chin. "Why are you ignoring me again?"
Fu Jingyao grabbed her fingers, his Adam's apple bobbing noticeably. "Xixi, lie down and go to sleep."
"Okay, you don't know either." Lin Xi shifted to a more comfortable position. "Turn off the lights and go to sleep."
"Um."
Fu Jingyao paused for a moment, then reached out and pressed the switch.
In an instant, the entire bed shook violently, and the dim light shone on the two of them.
"Holy crap!" Lin Xi rolled into the man's arms. "An earthquake?!"
Just as she was about to get up, Fu Jingyao put his arm around her waist. "It's not an earthquake."
"What the hell? Is Butler Liu playing a prank on us?"
The swaying and pushing force brought the two of them close together, with Lin Xi clinging to Fu Jingyao like an octopus.
"Turn it off quickly, or I'll blow it up."
"Wait, it'll be ready soon."
Three minutes later, Fu Jingyao finally found the switch. He pressed it, the shaking stopped, and the light above his head went out.
Lin Xi took a breath, "Huff... Butler Liu went crazy tonight, making this thing. Does he not want us to sleep?"
The man beside her remained motionless, his breathing growing heavier, and something in the darkness seemed to change.
Lin Xi looked up. "What happened to you? Where are you hurt?"
Fu Jingyao suddenly rolled over, pinning her beneath him, and asked in a hoarse voice.
"Xixi, may I kiss you?"
