Chapter 422 The Red Name

The messenger stared wide-eyed at the name on it.

Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

The people in red craned their necks to see the name, and were equally startled.

Red! It's actually red!!

The descendants of the Jiang family are given names and added to the family genealogy when they are six months old.

The names of the living are white, the names of the dead are black, and the names of the divine messengers are light pink.

No one's name is ever red.

Red is a symbol of nobility and a symbol of deities.

The redder the color, the more approval the idol receives, and even the more power the idol grants.

The two characters “Jiang Ting” were as red as blood, radiating a ghostly light.

How can a young, living person who has been the head of the family for less than two months and can't even touch the statues of gods compare to them?

The divine messenger's face twitched, but he nonchalantly closed the genealogy book and carefully examined the man not far away.

“It’s you.”

This child left a deep impression on him, one he would never forget.

He was an absolute genius, and also an absolute idiot.

Oh, by the way, he also has a younger sister, which caused the statue to react strangely.

However, the baby girl had already died.

The statue gritted its teeth and forced out an ambiguous sound from its throat, "Heh heh!!"

The men in red exchanged glances and acted according to the divine messenger's instructions. "Jiang Ting, our companion, congratulations on outliving the previous patriarch and successfully taking control of the Jiang family."

"When you die, you will surely become a noble and powerful divine messenger, just like us."

“Come to us, child.”

Jiang Ting raised his eyes, his gaze deep and unfathomable.

He straightened his cuffs and slowly parted his lips, "Who's your companion?"

The divine messenger's expression darkened slightly. "Jiang Ting, no matter how well you pretend, we are all the same kind of people. Don't push your luck."

The second man in red sneered, "Do you know who we are? If your grandfather were here, he would have to kneel down and call us our ancestors."

Jiang Ting's lips curled into a cold smile.

Jiang Ji interrupted, "A bunch of blind fools, daring to impersonate the ancestors of the Jiang family?"

He took a few steps back and shouted, "Hey kid, pull out your invention!"

"Get him!"

Jiang Chi glanced at him disdainfully, took out the Ghost-Finding Gun, and fired a shot casually.

Bang--!!

Blue smoke dissipated, filling the entire room.

Jiang Chi couldn't believe it and fired another shot.

The result was the same: blue smoke filled every corner.

This means that ghosts are everywhere!

Jiang Chi pulled his hand out of his pocket and said solemnly, "There are ghosts everywhere here, including five men in red."

Upon hearing this, the man in red cursed, "You're the devil! We are noble divine messengers, immortal and living as long as the heavens!"

Jiang Chi turned to look at Lin Xi, his voice softening.

"Sis, should we call?"

"You step back, I'll take over."

Lin Xi turned her wrist and rushed forward.

After watching the show for so long, it's time to get down to business.

The divine messenger looked at the woman who had suddenly appeared, completely bewildered.

What's going on this year? They're all out of control of the flute music and can even attack them.

She's just a little girl; one move is all it takes.

The messenger raised his flute to his lips, about to play it, when a powerful aura rushed towards him.

Snap!

In the blink of an eye, the flute broke in two.

The divine messenger roared, "Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

The flute was bestowed by a deity; it cannot be ignited by fire, struck by lightning, or broken by a weight of two hundred pounds.

The little girl broke it with a gentle bend.

It's broken...

The divine messenger sensed something was amiss, and his mouth opened and closed, asking, "Who are you?"

"I am your ancestor!"

Lin Xi pressed down on his shoulder and pulled away the unsightly red clothes.

A decaying body was exposed, its face covered with dense wrinkles, its teeth and hair all gone, and its whole body reeked of a strong, foul, and greasy old man smell.

Lin Xi shook her hand and quickly retreated.

If I had known it was this disgusting, I wouldn't have touched it with my hands; I would have just taken out the yellow talisman and solved the problem.

She tossed down a Heavenly Thunder Talisman and frantically wiped her hands with tissues she pulled from her small bag.

Jiang Ji ran forward, "Little sister, you take charge, I'll help you hold them down."

Jiang Chi didn't say anything, pointed the gun at the envoy's head, and dragged him in front of Lin Xi.

Jiang Ting leaned against the wall, silently watching everything, the corners of his mouth curving upwards even wider, like an detached spectator.

With the gun barrel pressed against his temple, the divine messenger trembled involuntarily, and he shouted sternly.

"How dare you! I am the ancestor of the Jiang family. Without me, you wouldn't be where you are today!!"

Jiang Chi put one hand in his pocket and snorted disdainfully, "So ugly, he has no right to be the ancestor of the Jiang family!"

"you!"

The messenger's face was ferocious, and his teeth were grinding together.

How glorious they were back then! Now they've fallen so low as to be threatened by their descendants, and a whole bunch of them at that!

He racked his brains for a solution. "Jiang Ting, you are the current head of the Jiang family. You can't let them run wild. If the sacrificial ceremony is interrupted, you and I are both finished."

Jiang Ting replied calmly, "Whatever."

The divine messenger cursed, "A bunch of lunatics!"

Jiang Chi pressed down on him with one hand, "Sis, what do we do now?"

Lin Xi recalled the Heavenly Thunder Talisman, and strands of lightning coiled around his fingertips.

She said, word by word, "Stealing life to survive in this world is against the laws of heaven and earth. These old men should have died hundreds of years ago."

The divine messenger screamed frantically, "No, I will not die!"

"You can't kill me, you'll live forever... ugh!!"

He fell to the ground and turned into a rotting skeleton.

Lin Xi observed carefully and found that the soul had disappeared.

A faint breath flew out from the bones and entered the countless memorial tablets.
