Chapter 196 The Show Is About to Begin

Hualu Village, halfway up the mountain.

Several children were picking mushrooms on the mountain with baskets on their backs.

"Wow, red stem, green umbrella, this mushroom is so beautiful."

"Don't touch them, they're poisonous! My mother said the prettier the mushroom, the more poisonous it is. Pick the ones with white or yellow stems, don't pick the ones with stems of other colors."

"Huh? What's that? Has someone fainted?"

Several children slowly walked over, and the "person" lying in the grass suddenly sat up, revealing a blood-soaked face.

Its eyes were black holes, without eyeballs; the flesh on both sides of its cheeks was churning and bleeding; and its mouth, full of sharp teeth, opened and closed, emitting eerie giggling sounds.

"Hehe, your skins are mine."

It moved, flying towards the crowd at an extremely fast speed.

The children's legs went weak and they collapsed to the ground, watching helplessly as the skinless monster approached, screaming in despair.

"Aaaaaah!!"

Just as the sharp teeth were about to touch its head, a golden light flashed, and the skinless monster froze for a moment before turning and running away.

A kind-faced monk appeared ahead, saying, "Amitabha."

The monster grinned, "Hehe, those who stand in my way die!"

The monk calmly took out a wooden fish and gently tapped it three times. "Benefactor, please put down your butcher's knife and do not kill the innocent indiscriminately."

Thump! Thump! Thump—!

The three chimes sounded like temple bells, and the monster clutched its head, screaming, "Aaaaah! Stop chanting! Stop chanting!!"

"Shi Kong, stop! This is my pet."

A woman wearing a black cloak and holding a magic ball spoke up to stop them.

Shi Kong's expression remained unchanged as he continued to strike the wooden fish, saying, "Benefactor, remember not to kill any living beings."

Heather roared angrily, "You damned monk, can't you understand human language?"

Shi Kong put his hands together in prayer and said, "A monk does not lie. I don't understand your nonsense."

Heather was furious; the dead monk called her inhuman.

She twirled the magic ball in her hand, "Since you've forced me to take action, today I'll show you some beautiful dark magic."

"Blast Ash!"

The magic ball emitted thick black smoke, exuding an ominous aura.

Countless streams of black energy surged forth, but Shi Kong calmly stood still, chanting, "Amitabha."

The Great Compassion Mantra suddenly rang out, instantly dispersing all the black energy, and the light in the magic orb disappeared.

Heatherd was shocked. "You interrupted my dark magic!"

Her dark magic was among the best in the country, and no one had ever interrupted her spells.

This strange monk was the first and only one.

Heather stared intently at the monk in front of her, trying to discern something but seeing nothing at all. She couldn't even make out his features, only that he was extremely handsome, the most handsome man in the world.

The monk was too strange.

The Great Compassion Mantra was giving her a headache, and Heather suppressed her anger. "Stop! Ceasefire!"

Shi Kong smiled politely, "I'm sorry, benefactor, the piece hasn't finished playing yet. Please bear with it for three minutes."

Heather was extremely frustrated, her mind filled with thoughts of "Namo Pārā Pārāmi". She was a Christian and hated Buddhist chanting.

Unable to bear it any longer, she gritted her teeth and said, "My name is Heather, not 'benefactor'!!"

Shi Kong quietly admired the beautiful scenery of the mountain village, ignoring her.

Heather shouted, "Don't call me benefactor! I hate that title!"

Seeing that the two were about to fight again, Qingwu said weakly, "Heatherd, 'benefactor' is a general term, not a name."

Heather glared at him fiercely. "Shut up!"

Can't beat a monk, but can't handle a pretty boy?

Heatherd closed her eyes and chanted, and the magic orb shone brightly again, releasing a burst of fire.

Qingwu was terrified. He was a fragile feng shui master who wasn't good at fighting. This woman knew how to set fires and water, so he couldn't beat her at all.

"Monk, you sent me! Help!"

Shi Kong turned his head and said, "Qingwu is one of my people."

The flames vanished instantly, much to Heather's surprise. Her dark magic had been interrupted again. Damn it!

She pointed at the two men, trembling with anger, "You, you... Monk, who is your teammate?! Qingwu, didn't you change your teammates?"

Qingwu withdrew its head; this was another person it couldn't afford to offend.

He wasn't supposed to come, but the monk insisted on dragging him over.

He couldn't win a fight, and he couldn't escape either. What could he do?

Shi Kong smiled without saying a word, glancing at the skinless monster beside him.

Heatherd said, "It's my pet."

The last mission failed, and Gray died on the spot, losing a puppet.

The God was furious, believing the failure was her fault for sending only a puppet for such an important task, while the real person was not present.

In Heather's eyes, China was a sick cat, and its people were all useless. A puppet was enough to defeat the sick cat and take back the fragments.

Unexpectedly, the mission failed completely, and Gray died. When the werewolf family learned of this, they vented all their anger on her.

This time, Heather came to China in person to find the fragments, and the God ordered her to follow the monk's instructions.

I wanted to give the monk a hard time and regain the initiative, but he turned out to be so strong.

If the mission fails again, Heatherd does not need to return to the organization.

Be patient, you must be patient, don't argue, complete the task well, and request a change of teammates.

Heather explained, "Monk, I'm following plan, making a commotion to attract the attention of the Special Administration. Why are you stopping me?"

Shi Kong clasped his hands together and bowed, saying, "The Buddha is compassionate and forbids killing, especially children."

"Are you crazy!" Heatherd cursed. "If you want to save all living beings, go to the temple and chant sutras. Why did you join the Chaos Society? Everyone here is stained with blood, and you are no exception."
