Madam Gu quickly averted her gaze, and her eyes did not linger on Su Ning's legs for long.
"Plain water!"
Su Ning replied with a faint smile.
This wasn't the first time Su Ning had met Madam Gu. Four years ago, she had met Gu Ran and Madam Gu.
They all sought her out for the same reason.

The door opened, followed by hurried footsteps from behind Su Ning.
Su Ning picked up the water glass in front of her and took a small sip. Without turning around, she could tell from Butler Xu's call and Madam Gu's smiling face that Gu Jingchen had arrived.
As the person approached, Gu Jingchen leaned down, his handsome face close to her ear, "Are you alright?"
"No!" Su Ning replied simply. The wind blowing in from the window carried the pungent smell of disinfectant.
