Feeling pleased with Mrs. Cheng's approval, Su Ning called Gu Jingchen to invite him out for dinner.
Gu Jingchen received Su Ning's call, arranged his work, and rushed over.

Su Ning then hung up the call.
"What's wrong?"
Gu Jingchen, on the other end of the line, noticed that Su Ning acted strangely after finishing her call with Xu Min.

Su Ning replied, then lowered her head to eat the food in her bowl, but she no longer had the appetite she had before.
Xu Min said that Mrs. Cheng had decided on Xu Huanyan's design.
This was unexpected for Su Ning. Madam Cheng clearly liked her work, but changed her mind in the blink of an eye.
Su Ning didn't think that Madam Cheng was joking with her. She saw a light in Madam Cheng's eyes, a light that came from liking someone.
Su Ning had a vague idea of what had happened in between.
"The jewelry Mrs. Cheng wore at her wedding anniversary banquet was commissioned from Xu Huanyan."
Feeling uncomfortable under Gu Jingchen's gaze, Su Ning looked up at him.
Gu Jingchen was taken aback and asked, "You just went to the Cheng family?"
"Um!"
With just one word, Gu Jingchen was able to guess the whole story.
Su Ning was so happy to invite him because her work at the Cheng family's house had been recognized by Mrs. Cheng. However, not long after, the Cheng family changed their minds.
Gu Jingchen could guess who had interfered and what they had done.
"I'll handle this."
Gu Jingchen said that the Cheng family was interested in cooperating with the Gu family.
It's feasible to exchange the jewelry Mrs. Cheng wore at the banquet for a cooperative deal.
"No need," Su Ning refused.
