"Hello!"
Su Xincheng said to Xu Bai with a smile.
She arrived in the capital last night and came to the Xu residence early this morning to wait.
Xu Sheng and Madam Xu left one after the other. She saw Xu Bai come out, and when she tried to get a closer look, she was caught.
"Aunt Su, what are you doing here?" Xu Bai asked. "Are you looking for Su Ning? She's with my uncle!"
"Oh!" Su Xincheng smiled. She had secretly run away to the capital to find Su Ning and also to see him.
Some things are better kept to yourself; once that opening is made, all the longing and emotions come flooding out like a torrent, impossible to stop.
During the three months after Su Ning's accident, she thought a lot.
Upon learning that Su Ning was not only alive but had also become Xu Jiang's daughter, she was overjoyed.
In the past, she would have blamed Su Ning for acknowledging the Xu family. Even if it was Xu Jiang, she wouldn't want her daughter to have any further connection with them.
Things are different now. As long as Su Ning is alright, she's let go of everything else.
She also wanted to see Xu Bai, the son who was taken to the Xu family after he was born.
What's wrong with your throat?
Looking into Xu Bai's unfocused eyes, Su Xincheng sensed something was wrong with him.
"Yes, I've caught a cold!"
Xu Bai replied, "Aunt Su, I'll take you to Ningning's place."
Su Xincheng didn't answer Xu Bai's question, but instead worried about his health, "You need to go to the hospital for a cold. You look like you have a fever."
As she spoke, Su Xincheng, who was standing in front of the car window, placed her hand on Xu Bai's forehead, and Xu Bai was immediately stunned.
When he was a child and sick, the old lady would touch his forehead like this, but Mrs. Xu never did.
"It's burning hot! We need to get to the hospital right away." Su Xincheng frowned as she felt the heat on Xu Bai's forehead.
"I'm going out to buy some medicine before I go to the company."
Xu Bai didn't plan to go to the hospital. Xu Sheng gave him a day off, but he felt more at ease going to the company.
"With your body burned like that, what kind of company would you go to?"
Su Xincheng said unhappily, "Your dad is obsessed with making money. You have such a high fever, and he doesn't even take you to the hospital."
Xu Bai laughed at these words, "I'm not a child!"
When I was little, I wanted my family to be with me when I was sick, but now...
"Get out of the car."
Su Xincheng spoke again, and Xu Bai wondered why she wanted him to get out of the car, but he still obediently got out.
After Xu Bai got out of the car, Su Xincheng got in. "You sit in the passenger seat, I'll take you to the hospital."
"You should see a doctor promptly if you have a cold; don't delay."
Xu Baizhen found Su Xincheng strange; she was Su Ning's mother, and strictly speaking, she had no relation to him.
Knowing he was sick, she was even more anxious than Madam Xu and insisted on taking him to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Su Xincheng led him to register, see a doctor, and get blood tested, running around for him as if he were a seven or eight-year-old child.
While he was getting an IV drip, I took off my coat and gave it to him so he wouldn't catch a cold.
This woman was so good to him; she warmed his heart, which was aching because of a cold.
“When Ningning was little, she was not very healthy and had to go to the hospital every few days.”
Su Xincheng chatted casually with Xu Bai, and she unconsciously brought up Su Ning.
Being both a father and a mother left her feeling exhausted, and she wanted to escape in the days that followed.
Were you healthy when you were a child?
Su Xincheng changed the subject and asked Xu Bai.
Looking at Xu Bai's face, she felt a pang of sadness and her eyes welled up with tears.
Su Ning and Xu Bai were born within seconds of each other. Ning Ning was in poor health; will Xu Bai's be better?
How did the Xu family take care of him when he was sick?
These were the questions that Su Xincheng would think about over and over again whenever Su Ning was sick.
