"Let's get engaged first."
Gu Jingchen sobered up and smiled as he continued, "Next week, I'll get engaged to Ningning first."
Gu Jingchen thought it was perfect: an engagement next week, a wedding in two weeks.
Old Master Xu's face darkened. He hadn't mentioned the date of the engagement, but Gu Jingchen was quick to seize the opportunity and directly said next week.

Grandpa Xu responded to Su Ning's words in a serious tone.
As soon as she finished speaking, Jiang Yun's face turned even paler. She grabbed Xu Huanyan's hand tightly, making Xu Huanyan call her "Mom" with tears in her eyes.
The Xu family members left one after another, and no one went up to comfort Jiang Yun. Mr. Xu and Xu Bai also left.
Jiang Yun waited until the very end, then stared blankly around the private room before slowly standing up and walking out.
"Mother!"
Xu Huanyan stayed by her side and called her name many times before Jiang Yun responded.
