Ji Huaishen looked at the contents of the bowl, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes.
Mu Xiaocheng, biting the end of her chopsticks, said, "Let's eat meat to nourish ourselves."
Chef Ji cooks for her every day; he works so hard.
Upon hearing this, Ji Huaishen raised an eyebrow slightly. (Addendum?)
He looked serious and expressionless, appearing very proper: "I don't need any supplements, I'm in good health, I can try it another day."
"Cough, cough~"
Mu Xiaocheng almost choked to death on her own saliva.
What did Ji Huaishen mean by that?
Did she misunderstand?
Want to give it a try?
What to try?
The "supplements" she mentioned weren't for that specific area.
Mu Xiaocheng quickly picked up a piece of spicy chicken to calm her nerves.
Her face flushed slightly because of Ji Huaishen's words. After all, she was twenty-three years old and knew a thing or two.
Ji Huaishen watched her lower her head and eat somewhat awkwardly, her ears red and pink and cute.
He curled his lips slightly; he was simply stating a fact.
Why is she shy again?
While eating, Mu Xiaocheng suddenly remembered something and reluctantly looked at Ji Huaishen, saying honestly, "I've finished my classes at Yundu University, and the students are on holiday. Tingyi is having a book signing event in Yundu this weekend, and I'd like to go check it out. What do you think?"
She felt she needed to tell Ji Huaishen about this and ask for his opinion.
After all, they should be dating right now.
Ji Huaishen paused, a look of shock crossing his face.
"Are you... asking for my opinion?"
His voice was somewhat hoarse, but it contained joy and excitement.
Mu Xiaocheng nodded: "Yes."
She didn't want to bother coaxing him if he couldn't find her and misunderstood something.
A smile gradually spread across Ji Huaishen's handsome face, undisguised.
Even his dark eyes were brimming with laughter.
"I'll go with you."
Hearing his answer, Mu Xiaocheng frowned slightly: "But shouldn't you have a lot of work to do?"
"When you went to teach at Yundu University, you must have had a lot of work piled up and I was all alone..."
There's not much work.
Ji Huaishen interrupted her, asking, "What job could be more important than her?"
"But don't you often work very late? Last night was no exception."
Mu Xiaocheng bluntly exposed her.
Ji Huaishen: "..."
He coughed lightly, then quickly regained his composure: "I've just been busy these past couple of days."
"oh."
Mu Xiaocheng nodded, seemingly believing but not quite.
After a moment, she said softly, "Alright then."
Her voice was soft and sweet, both pleasant and adorable.
Hearing her answer, Ji Huaishen was taken aback. It seemed that she was really starting to care about him.
After dinner, the maids were cleaning up. Ji Huaishen had to go to the company to handle some matters. Mu Xiaocheng was wearing a large, fluffy sweatshirt, with half of her hand tucked into the long sleeve.
She stood behind him and tugged weakly at his suit jacket.
Ji Huaishen, who was about to leave, frowned in confusion and looked at her: "What's wrong?"
She looked at him with her beautiful, innocent eyes and said in a slightly stiff tone, "Work hard and come back soon."
Is that how it's said?
When her husband leaves the house, is this what a wife should say?
She saw it portrayed like that in a TV series.
She has never been in a relationship and has zero experience, so hopefully this is the right thing to do.
Hearing her incredibly awkward and stiff tone, Ji Huaishen chuckled softly with pleasure.
Then, he suddenly leaned down and kissed her moist cherry lips.
