Ji Huaishen opened the door, and Mu Heng, who was inside, heard the noise at the door and turned around to look at him with great vigilance.
"You've finally appeared."
Mu Heng wasn't too surprised to see Ji Huaishen. He had already guessed that Ji Huaishen knew he had regained his memories and was investigating what happened twenty-three years ago.
That's why he had Shang Qi waiting for him at the door of the study.
Ji Huaishen is a very shrewd and calculating person. If he really wants to do something, probably no one can stop him.
"Twenty-three years ago, you were ordered to investigate CASO and Zhou Guangbo. So you disguised yourself as an undercover agent, infiltrated CASO, and penetrated the upper echelons of CASO. During this time, you did find some clues about criminal organizations, and naturally assumed that my father was behind it all."
Ji Huaishen spoke calmly, and Mu Xiaocheng overheard these words when she came in.
Judging from his tone, he had indeed investigated the matter thoroughly.
"Isn't that right?" Mu Heng raised his eyes, his eyes slightly narrowed.
Ji Huaishen sneered and curled his lips, taking a USB drive out of his coat pocket and placing it on the table next to him.
"These are the clues and evidence I found."
“Back then, Zhou Guangbo and Ji Hanmu colluded to carry out a series of illegal activities using CASO. There were indeed people who betrayed CASO, but it wasn’t my father. To be precise, my father, Ji Hanfeng, was completely unaware of it.”
Upon hearing his words, Mu Heng looked at the USB drive on the table in shock.
"You mean, Ji Hanfeng was never involved? All of this was orchestrated by Zhou Guangbo and Ji Hanmu?"
Mu Heng was somewhat skeptical.
He had been undercover in CASO for so long and discovered that Ji Hanfeng was using CASO's intelligence network to carry out illegal activities.
Now Ji Huaishen suddenly tells him that it was actually Ji Hanmu and Zhou Guangbo who were behind this?
"Some of the conversation between Zhou Guangbo and Ji Hanmu is on the USB drive, along with various pieces of evidence of their transactions. If you want witnesses, I can bring them to you."
Mu Heng picked up the USB drive on the table, but his hand trembled slightly.
Ji Huaishen continued, "My father and CASO were nothing more than stepping stones for them to pursue their interests."
"Of course, I have no reason to lie to you."
"Because my parents died at their hands."
Ji Huaishen spoke these words casually, his gaze deep, as if he were talking about someone else's affairs.
But Mu Xiaocheng knew that even someone as powerful as Ji Huaishen still harbored resentment over the deaths of his parents.
He blamed himself for being powerless to help me back then; he hated the real culprit behind it all.
Mu Xiaocheng took a step forward and slowly grasped his hand.
Feeling the warmth of her hand, Ji Huaishen turned his head to look at the girl beside him.
Her two wet eyes stared at him, seemingly filled with power.
"I'm fine," he said softly, as if he were trying to reassure her.
After listening to Ji Huaishen's words, Mu Heng picked up the USB drive on the table, plugged it into the computer, and turned it on.
As expected, Ji Huaishen had not lied to him.
The evidence is entirely composed of Zhou Guangbo and Ji Hanmu's crimes; Ji Hanfeng was not involved.
CASO doesn't seem to have been involved either; it's just that a small group of people within CASO were bribed by Ji Hanmu and used their intelligence network to cooperate with those criminal organizations.
He knew that Ji Hanmu and Zhou Guangbo were involved in this matter, but he didn't know that they were the masterminds behind it.
Over the years, he has done many illegal things.
Now, it's time to bring them to justice.
