Chapter 1: Heartbroken

The weather in Beijing in March is still a bit cold.

At 9:30 in the evening, Song Shengsheng finished attending a high school reunion. She suppressed her drunkenness, carried her computer bag, and supported her completely drunk best friend Su Bei as they stood at the entrance of the Century Hotel, watching the passing vehicles and waiting for Su Bei's boyfriend Zhou Han to pick her up.

After about ten minutes, Zhou Han stopped the car in front of them, got out, took the unconscious Su Bei from her hands, and said to her, "Shengsheng, get in the car! I'll take you home."

Song Shengsheng waved her hand: "No, we're not going the same way, I can take a taxi myself. You should take Su Bei away, she drank a little too much today, be careful on the road."

"Shengsheng, do you really not need me to send you off?"

"No, no, I didn't drink much. You guys can go now." After saying that, she took two steps forward and reached out to help Zhou Han close the back door.

Zhou Han knew that Song Shengsheng didn't like to trouble others, so seeing that she insisted and everything seemed normal, he didn't say anything more. He just said, "Then be careful. Call us if anything happens. Let us know when you get home."

Song Shengsheng smiled and nodded, then waved to him.

After Zhou Han and Su Bei left, she squatted on the side of the road, feeling somewhat exhausted. She slowly took out her cell phone from her coat pocket and opened the taxi app. However, she didn't know if it was because it was too late or there were too many people taking taxis nearby at the same time, but she couldn't get a taxi for a long time.

The chilly wind made her even more drunk. Song Shengsheng suddenly regretted that she should not have been so stubborn as to reject Zhou Han's kindness.

She waited for a while longer, her eyelids twitching uncontrollably, her head numb and gradually shutting down. A car stopped in front of her, the window slowly lowered. She looked up drowsily, squinting her eyes to carefully examine the person sitting in the car: "Jiang Yiyu? What a coincidence."

Jiang Yiyu frowned and said with a smile: "Xiao Shengsheng, why are you so drunk?"

"It was a class reunion, and I drank two extra glasses of wine. I can't drink much."

"Waiting for someone?"

Song Shengsheng shook her head and waved her phone at him: "I want to go home, but I can't get a taxi."

"Where is home? I'll take you there."

"Home is...home."

Jiang Yiyu sighed helplessly and signaled his assistant Xiao Chen, who was sitting in the front seat, to take her into the car.

After getting in the car, Song Shengsheng sat next to Jiang Yiyu. She held her computer bag, lowered her head, and said thank you in a low voice with a slightly restrained look.

Jiang Yiyu leaned back in his chair, his hand holding the script casually resting on his knee. He looked at her lazily and asked, "Xiao Shengsheng, where should I send you? Do you want me to call your brother?"

Song Shengsheng shook her head: "My brother is not here... I'm going... to Guanyuan Road..."

"Where is Guanyuan Road?"

Song Shengsheng turned and looked at him for a few seconds, then quickly lowered his head, unlocked his phone, and handed it to him: "Go here."

But because the screen was locked for too long, her taxi-hailing app had already automatically exited, so Jiang Yiyu only saw the home screen of the phone, and the wallpaper was still the photo taken by the studio when he won the Best Actor Award at the film festival not long ago.

Jiang Yiyu's heart paused. He glanced at Song Shengsheng, raised his eyebrows slightly, turned off the phone and handed it back to her. Trying to remain calm, he smiled and said, "Got it. Go to sleep. I'll take you home."

"Thank you." Song Shengsheng put away his phone, leaned back quietly in his chair, and closed his eyes.

Assistant Xiao Chen turned around and whispered, "Brother, where are we going now?"

"Go back to the hotel."

"Aren't you going to take her home?"

Jiang Yiyu picked up his coat and gently covered Song Shengsheng with it, his tone was unusually gentle: "Well, I won't see you off."

"Brother, this is not good."

"It's okay, she's my childhood friend's sister, we know each other."

"My childhood friend's sister, you should know where her home is."

Jiang Yiyu glanced at her lazily and said lightly, "I forgot."

Xiao Chen was very tactful and shut his mouth without saying anything more.

Jiang Yiyu's car slowly drove into the parking lot downstairs of the Century Hotel. His trip back to Beijing was a private one and not public. His assistant had contacted the hotel in advance and security had cleared the area, so it was relatively quiet.

Before getting off the car, Jiang Yiyu called out to Song Shengsheng softly. Song Shengsheng opened her eyes drowsily and said, "Are we home yet?"

"Well, can you still walk on your own?"

Song Shengsheng nodded and reached out to open the car door. Xiao Chen was so frightened that she turned around to stop him. While holding the car door, she said to Jiang Yiyu, "Brother, you go upstairs first. Just in case, if someone takes a picture of you, it will be easier to explain. It's better for me to take her upstairs."

Jiang Yiyu looked at Song Shengsheng: "Is it okay?"

Song Shengsheng nodded dazedly: "Yeah."

Jiang Yiyu subconsciously raised his hand and touched the top of her head: "Why are you still so well behaved?"

The atmosphere was indeed a bit ambiguous. Xiao Chen couldn't stand it anymore and cleared his throat as a reminder.

Jiang Yiyu withdrew his hand, turned around and got out of the car.

After getting off the car, he took the elevator directly upstairs. After about two or three minutes, the driver carrying his suitcase and his assistant followed closely behind, supporting Song Shengsheng, who was wearing a hat and a mask.

In the elevator, Song Shengsheng opened his eyes drowsily and asked Xiao Chen in confusion, where are we going?

Xiao Chen said he would take her to see Jiang Yiyu. Song Shengsheng nodded, lowered her head, and closed her eyes again.

After the elevator stopped, Xiao Chen and the driver didn't dare to take her to stay in the corridor for too long, and hurriedly quickened their pace towards Jiang Yiyu's suite.

His door was not closed. The driver put the suitcase at the door and left. Xiao Chen helped Song Shengsheng into the bedroom and let her lie on the bed. He quickly drew all the curtains in the room and asked Jiang Yiyu, who was sitting on the sofa next to him and drinking water slowly, with some concern: "Brother, do you really want to let her stay overnight?"

"Um."

"That's inappropriate."

"Xiao Chen, you talk a lot today, don't let your imagination run wild."

Jiang Yiyu placed the carafe on the coffee table, then stood up and glanced at the drunken Song Shengsheng. "Do me a favor and get her a new set of pajamas from my suitcase. I'm going to sleep in the other bedroom. I don't have work tomorrow, so I won't call and no one should bother me."

After hearing this, Xiao Chen finally breathed a sigh of relief and nodded quickly in agreement.

At this time, Song Shengsheng, who had finally reached the bed, was already fast asleep. He even turned over and found a comfortable position to lie down.

Xiao Chen helped her change her clothes, turned off the bedroom light, said hello to Jiang Yiyu who was sitting on the sofa in the living room reading a script, and prepared to leave.

Before leaving, she glanced at the script in Jiang Yiyu's hand and reminded him hesitantly, "Brother, you're holding the script upside down."

Jiang Yiyu glanced at her disapprovingly: "It's just that the cover is reversed."

Xiao Chen didn't say anything more, because she was the one who rebound the script, and it was impossible for the cover to be put on upside down, so the only possibility was that Jiang Yiyu was confused.
