Chapter 7 I Want to See You

After dinner, Song Shengsheng and Song Ming saw Jiang Yiyu out.

Song Ming leaned against the door, smoking quietly. Song Shengsheng followed Jiang Yiyu to the car, looked up at him and asked softly, "Monday, are you still coming?"

Jiang Yiyu glanced at Song Ming, patted Song Shengsheng's head, and smiled gently, "Of course, I said I would marry you. Don't worry, eat well, sleep well, and I'll pick you up early Monday morning."

"Brother Yi Yu, you won't regret it, right?"

"No." Jiang Yiyu bent down, looked into her eyes with a smile, and lowered his voice: "Be good, don't like me more than I like you."

"ah?"

"Nothing, good night."

Jiang Yiyu stood up straight and waved to Song Ming: "Let's go." Then he turned around and got into the car.

Song Shengsheng stood there until his car disappeared from his sight, then he turned around and walked back reluctantly.

Song Ming finished a cigarette, cleared his throat, and said unhappily, "That's right, your soul has been taken away, and you still know how to come back."

Song Shengsheng rarely refuted him. She just glanced in the direction where Jiang Yiyu left. She was nervous and afraid that he would not come on Monday.

Before going to bed, Song Shengsheng tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep. She turned on her phone and clicked on Jiang Yiyu's WeChat. She originally wanted to ask him if he was asleep, but she typed a line of words, deleted it, deleted it, and typed it again, and in the end she didn't dare to send the message.

Finally, she opened Weibo as usual, clicked on the message page, and sent a private message to Jiang Yiyu: I am very happy today.

As expected, this private message, like the previous ones, was marked with a red refresh symbol the moment it was sent, and then a prompt appeared below that you could only send one message because the other party did not reply to you.

Song Shengsheng sighed and exited the private message page.

She clicked on the recent post by Jiang Yiyu sharing a landscape photo and looked through the comment section below, but after a long time she couldn't find her own comment. After all, with nearly a million likes and reposts, and hundreds of thousands of comments, she was drowned in the crowd and was nothing at all.

If it weren't for the fact that Song Ming and Jiang Yiyu were friends and I got to know him through that, perhaps the fact that I had liked him for twelve years would have been just a fleeting number known only to me.

Song Shengsheng turned off her phone feeling inexplicably lost. She closed her eyes and tried to force herself to sleep, but her mind was still in a mess. She covered her face with the quilt in annoyance and turned over.

But not long after, the cell phone suddenly rang, followed by the sound of a car outside the window.

She picked up the phone again, but frowned at the screen brightness that she hadn't lowered in time. She squinted her eyes for a few seconds to adjust, and then she saw that the caller ID was the small icon that came with the phone, a little blue fish. This was her note to Jiang Yiyu.

Before the call was connected, her heart started beating uncontrollably. Song Shengsheng sat up, cleared her throat, and pressed the answer button. She didn't speak, and there was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time.

Finally, she couldn't help but speak out: "Hello?"

I don't know if it was a coincidence, but at the same time, Jiang Yiyu also asked her, "Are you asleep?"

The two voices collided with each other. Jiang Yiyu chuckled and asked again, "Are you asleep?"

Song Shengsheng pressed his chest, trying to suppress his pounding heartbeat: "No... I haven't slept yet, what's wrong?"

"It's okay, I just wanted to ask you. If it's convenient, could you come up to the balcony for a moment?"

"ah?"

"I'm outside and want to see you."

Song Shengsheng hurriedly threw off the quilt and got out of bed, but the more anxious he was, the more confused he became. His slippers were disobedient and he couldn't put them on properly. He stumbled all the way to the balcony after getting out of bed.

Jiang Yiyu heard her anxious footsteps and said with a smile, "Slow down, don't fall, I won't leave."

"good."

Song Shengsheng stopped and took a deep breath. She changed her slippers that she had worn inside out, tugged at the hem of her clothes, tidied her messy hair, and finally pulled open the heavy floor-length curtains and pushed open the balcony door.

As soon as the door was opened, before she even walked out, the cold wind made her shiver.

On the other end of the phone, Jiang Yiyu asked, "Why don't you know how to put on some clothes?"

"It's not cold. Do you want to come in?"

Jiang Yiyu smiled and said, "It's too late. I won't go in. I'll just take a look at you and then I'll leave. Can you go a little further? I can't see clearly."

Song Shengsheng walked to the balcony fence and looked down. She saw Jiang Yiyu wearing a black leather jacket, leaning lazily against the car, holding a mobile phone in one hand and a lit cigarette in the other, looking at her with a smile.

Song Shengsheng didn't know what to say, and Jiang Yiyu didn't say anything either.

After a while, she asked, "It's so late, why haven't you returned to the hotel yet?"

"Well, after leaving your house, I went back to the Jiang family. I was very upset, and I thought seeing you might make me feel more at ease, so I came back."

"Did you have a fight with Uncle Jiang?"

"No, he's not worthy now." Jiang Yiyu paused and said, "I'll come on Monday morning."

"Then I'll wait for you."

"good."

Jiang Yiyu was silent for a while. He slowly took a puff of cigarette, exhaling a stream of white smoke. His voice was a little hoarse, but also carried a bit of cautious hope: "I will send you a message tomorrow, remember to reply me. You can also call me, I will answer."

"Okay." Song Shengsheng paused, and for some reason, he suddenly felt tears welling in his eyes: "Jiang Yiyu."

"Hmm? What's wrong?"

"Do you like me a little bit now?"

"That's a stupid question."
