Chapter 72 Going to the Jiang Family

"Master, long time no see."

In just a moment, Jiang Yiyu's smile faded. He looked at Jiang Yuan's assistant and two other bodyguards standing outside the door and gripped the door handle tightly. "What are you doing here?"

The assistant pushed his glasses slightly and smiled politely, "Today is the young master's birthday. Mr. Jiang asked me to pick you and Miss Song up to go home for the banquet."

"His son's birthday is none of my business. Get out!" He was about to close the door, but the assistant calmly grabbed the door frame and said, "If you don't go, Miss Song will have to go by herself."

Jiang Yiyu was stunned, the string in his heart completely broke. He angrily stepped forward and grabbed the assistant's shirt collar and punched him in the face. The assistant wanted to break free but couldn't.

In a panic, the bodyguard behind the assistant stepped forward and quickly grabbed the furious Jiang Yiyu.

The assistant bent down to pick up his glasses and put them on. His previous decorum was replaced by embarrassment. He was dissatisfied with Jiang Yiyu's behavior, but he didn't dare to say anything more. He just toughened his attitude a little: "Master, even if you hit me a few more times today, even if you kill me, Miss Song will still show up at the Jiang family."

He straightened his collar and said, "Why don't you take my advice, change your clothes and come with me? You can see her sooner."

Jiang Yiyu shook off the bodyguard who was restraining his arms and slammed the door shut.

The assistant stepped back a few steps and fixed his hair. A bodyguard asked, "Assistant Lin, is the young master not going to come out?"

"No, I watched him grow up, and I value affection the most."

The bodyguard retreated behind him, and the three of them stood and waited for a while. The door was opened again, and Jiang Yiyu walked out slowly, wearing a black sweatshirt, a hat and a mask. Assistant Lin signaled the bodyguard to push out the wheelchair that had been prepared for him. Jiang Yiyu glanced at him sideways and sat on it.

On the way to Jiang's house, Song Shengsheng took out his mobile phone and sent a WeChat message to Jiang Yiyu: Don't worry, I'm fine, don't worry.

Jiang Yiyu replied quickly: Don’t get into conflict with them when you get there, wait for me for a while.

Song Shengsheng: Okay.

After arriving at the Jiang family, Song Shengsheng saw Zhao Rong coming out to greet her enthusiastically as soon as she entered the door. Zhao Rong was wearing a well-cut dark green cheongsam, and her long hair was tied up with a jade hairpin and tied behind her head. She wore a jade pendant the size of a pigeon egg around her neck. Although the pendant was large, the quality was really average.

Song Shengsheng recalled the photo of Li Chu that she saw in Jiang Yiyu's album. That gentle and graceful look was something that Zhao Rong could not imitate with just clothes.

She dodged Zhao Rong's pretended warmth as she tried to pull her hand and took half a step back.

Zhao Rong stepped back slightly embarrassedly, looking her up and down, her gaze lingering on the shopping bag she was holding. "Shengsheng, you're going back to your own home, why are you being so polite? What are you carrying? You're really being so formal."

Song Shengsheng hid the shopping bag behind her. "I was originally going back to my own home, but unfortunately, I met some people with bad eyesight who brought me here. If you look at my clothes, you should know that I didn't come here on my own initiative. But since you said this is my home, I don't have to be polite."

"Of course, of course." Zhao Rong took a few steps back.

Song Shengsheng handed the shopping bag in her hand to the housekeeper waiting beside her: "Please help me put the bag away. Don't miss anything inside. I need to take it away later."

The housekeeper glanced at Zhao Rong. Song Shengsheng tilted her head and smiled at him, "What's the matter? I'm in my own home, and I can't order a housekeeper around?" She turned to look at Zhao Rong, whose smile froze. "Aunt Zhao, it seems that even after all these years in the Jiang family, you're still an outsider. They don't listen to what you say."

Zhao Rong quickly winked at the housekeeper, who took the bag from Song Shengsheng's hand. Zhao Rong personally bent down, opened the shoe cabinet, and took out a pair of slippers for her and placed them at her feet. Song Shengsheng glanced down and kicked the slippers aside. "I don't like changing shoes at home. Aunt Zhao shouldn't blame me, right?"

"No...I won't."

Song Shengsheng looked at Zhao Rong's gradually uncontrollable smile with a joking look, and followed her into the living room while looking at the decoration of the Jiang family.

Zhao Rong said, "Today is Yicheng's sixteenth birthday. Old Jiang wants to host a family dinner and invite you all back so that we can have a great time together as a family."

"Yicheng? Who is it?" Song Shengsheng sat down on the sofa and took the cup of water handed to him by the servant.

Zhao Rong said, "He's Yiyu's younger brother. He's also studying at Shengyang Private Middle School. He's taking summer tutoring classes. Old Jiang, go pick him up." She looked at her watch and said, "I think he'll be home around the same time as Yiyu."

"That's really unfortunate." Song Shengsheng took a sip of water.

Zhao Rong pulled her aside and chatted with her for a while, and Song Shengsheng responded incoherently. Finally, the doorbell rang. Zhao Rong seemed to be energized and stood up enthusiastically again and walked towards the door. Seeing that it was Jiang Yuan and Jiang Yicheng who came back, she was obviously relieved.

Song Shengsheng could hear her exaggerated and concerned greetings while sitting in the living room.

When Jiang Yuan walked into the living room, Song Shengsheng stood up politely and greeted him.

Jiang Yuan nodded, pulled over the tall, thin, fair-skinned young man following behind him and said, "Yicheng, this is your sister-in-law, hello."

Jiang Yicheng looked at Song Shengsheng, frowned, and said without any emotion: "Hello, sister-in-law."

Song Shengsheng nodded and sat down again with Jiang Yuan. She looked at Jiang Yicheng, who was being cared for by Zhao Rong. She felt that although this young man was good-looking, he was still far inferior to Jiang Yiyu. It was normal that they didn't look alike since their mothers were so different.
