Chapter 9 Getting a Certificate

In the early morning, a ray of sunlight shone through the gap in the undrawn curtains and fell right on Song Shengsheng's face. She looked at her phone and saw that it was only half past seven. She had made an appointment with Jiang Yiyu to meet at Song's house at nine o'clock yesterday, so she had an hour and a half to spare, which was enough for her to get ready.

After washing up, Song Shengsheng put on some delicate light makeup in front of the mirror. She changed into the dress that Song Ming said was suitable last night, stood in front of the dressing mirror, looked at herself back and forth several times, and finally opened the door and went downstairs with satisfaction.

In the restaurant, Jiang Yiyu had already arrived. He was wearing a white shirt that looked very formal, with the sleeves half rolled up on his arms. His hair was carefully groomed, with his bangs combed up, revealing his handsome forehead and deep eyebrows. He was sitting there, even though he was holding chopsticks and eating breakfast, the dignity in his every move made him look like he was shooting a magazine cover.

Seeing her, Jiang Yiyu raised the corners of his lips, looked at her carefully, and praised: "She is really beautiful."

Song Ming knocked on his bowl with his chopsticks: "Put your dog eyes back. If you dare to look at me again, I'll charge you!"

Jiang Yiyu didn't care about the presence of Song's parents, and said frankly: "She will be my wife soon, you can look at her however you want."

"You!" Song Ming was about to explode when Wang Jing scolded him, "Xiao Ming, why are you so excited so early in the morning? We are all family, and we should practice harmony. Stop bullying Yi Yu."

After saying that, Wang Jing looked at Song Shengsheng: "Shengsheng, why are you still standing there? Come over and have breakfast. Today we have your favorite sweet soy milk."

"Okay." Song Shengsheng was about to sit down, but he was in trouble because Song Ming and Jiang Yiyu pulled out the seats next to him almost at the same time.

Song Shengsheng hesitated for a moment, and didn't go anywhere. She sat down opposite Song Qing. Aunt Chen set clean dishes and chopsticks for her and brought her soy milk.

She lowered her head, held her long hair with one hand, and drank some soy milk with a spoon in the other.

Seeing this, Jiang Yiyu turned around and took out a black rubber band from the pocket of his suit jacket on the back of the chair and handed it over: "It's new, prepared for you."

Song Shengsheng took it and whispered thank you, but her fingers accidentally touched Jiang Yiyu's fingertips. Jiang Yiyu looked at her, smiled, and withdrew his hand.

After breakfast, when Song Shengsheng put on her makeup and packed her things, before leaving, Song Ming insisted on going with him no matter what. Song Qing and Wang Jing did not stop him. In the end, Song Shengsheng had no choice but to get into Song Ming's car.

On the way, Song Ming asked her again if she wanted to regret it, and said that if she regretted it, he would drive her away now.

Song Shengsheng laughed at his childishness: "Brother, I'm not a child anymore."

Song Ming turned the steering wheel and followed Jiang Yiyu's car around the corner: "I hope you are. If I were a kid again, I would definitely not let you meet Jiang Yiyu."

"He's not that bad."

Song Ming glanced at her and said, "He's not that bad, but what I really care about is his family and his current status. You're my only sister, and I just hope you're safe and happy. Do you understand?"

"I understand. I know my brother is doing this for my own good, but I will only be truly happy if I can be with Jiang Yiyu, at least for now."

Song Ming sighed: "It's up to you. But if you are unhappy, don't force yourself. At worst, you can divorce and go home. I will support you for the rest of your life."

Song Shengsheng smiled and nodded: "I knew that my brother was the best to me."

"Stupid."

When they arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau, Jiang Yiyu had already made arrangements in advance. He got out of the car wearing a hat and a mask, and walked into the hall quickly and low-key under the escort of his assistant.

Song Shengsheng was accompanied by Song Ming. He got off the car and walked into the Civil Affairs Bureau about a few minutes later.

Song Ming stood by and accompanied him throughout the whole process as much as possible.

He looked at the marriage certificate of Song Shengsheng and Jiang Yiyu being stamped with a steel seal, and he couldn't help but tear up.

Song Shengsheng took his arm, leaned her head against his shoulder, and whispered, "Brother, it's not that serious. I'm still your sister."

Song Ming sniffed and glared at Jiang Yiyu: "You protect her for me. If you dare to cause trouble to her, I'll beat you up!"

Jiang Yiyu smiled and reached out to touch his shoulder with a fist: "Don't worry."

After getting the marriage certificate, Song Shengsheng had to rush back to school, so he didn't let them send him off and took a taxi away.

The whole day was no different from any other day. She attended classes, ate, and wrote papers as usual, but now she had two more marriage certificates in her bag and a contact in her phone who she had secretly kept in her heart for many years and who had now truly entered her life and could be contacted at any time.

This feeling was both wonderful and fresh. During the afternoon class, Jiang Yiyu sent her a message asking when the class would end and whether he could come to pick her up.

Song Shengsheng told him the time and asked: Is it inconvenient for you to pick me up?

Jiang Yiyu: It’s not inconvenient at all. I have a solution. Remember to prepare your meal card and treat me to a meal.

After that, there was no more news from him. He didn't say when he would come, nor did he tell Song Shengsheng where to wait for him.

After class, Song Shengsheng called Jiang Yiyu. It took a long time for the call to be connected. He sounded breathless, as if he had just finished running. "Hello, Shengsheng, I have something urgent to do here. You should go to the cafeteria first. I'll come find you later."

"There are several cafeterias in school. Which one should I go to wait for you?"

"Near the north gate."

"Oh, okay, but how did you come to me?"

"Just go ahead, I have a plan. Don't worry, I'll be there in a moment."

"Okay." Song Shengsheng hung up the phone with some worry, and walked towards the fourth canteen near the north gate of the school with his bag.
